On the Farm...
It has been a while since our last newsletter.
Here are a few highlights of happenings:
County Fair Highlight: Autumnwood
Davis Bacon, exhibited by Mariah Daninger,
was named Grand Champion of the Open
Class Holstein Show and 4-H Dairy Show.
State Fair Highlight: Erin Daninger
officially became a “butterhead”. Having
been named a finalist for Princess Kay of the
Milky Way, she had her likeness carved in
butter. That sculpture will be on display at
the 2012 Autumnwood Farm-City Day next
June. Check out her “Thoughts of a Farmer’s
Daughter” at http://edaninger.blogspot.com .
Farm Highlight: All the crops are harvested and the cows are still
outdoors enjoying the beautiful dry fall days and cool nights. Nathan
Daninger along with some football teammates and other friends
enjoyed MEA break from school by loading and stacking away 2400
small square bales of shredded canary grass hay, which we will use to
bed animals during the next several months.

Autumnwood milk is now available at
Kowalski’s Market on Lyndale Avenue in
Minneapolis and at Cub Foods Maplewood,
west of Highway 36 and Rice Street.
Did You Know?
Autumnwood milk that returns unsold from
stores is used to feed our baby calves. Last
year we had a group of older calves and an
excess supply of chocolate milk, which must
be their favorite, because when we ran out
and fed them skim milk they turned up their
noses and walked away from it! There’s no
need to cut back purchasing our milk, we
will make sure they are well fed.
