One of Africa’s best kept tourism secrets, Mozambique, lies on the south-eastern half of Southern Africa.
With a coastline stretching almost 2500km from the border of Tanzania down to the east coast of South
Africa, this country is home to a huge array of attractions including hundreds of unspoiled beaches, the
beautiful islands of the Bazaruto and Quirimbas archipelagos, the vast and seemingly untouched Lake
Niassa and many vibrant and entertaining cities with the capital, Maputo, topping this list.
Not only has Mozambique become a more and more popular tourist destination, but much growth
has also occurred in the corporate and conference markets, particularly in Maputo.

Strictly business

The Southern Sun Maputo, just 7km from Maputo International Airport, is magnificently
situated right on the beachfront (on the Avenida da Marginal) and offers a haven for both
business and leisure travellers. The high standards of quality and service you expect from
Southern Sun worldwide are complemented by a welcome that is always warm and friendly.
Start your day with a hearty buffet breakfast in the restaurant. Later, you’ll certainly want
to return for a delicious à la carte dinner offering delectable seafood dishes and much
more. In between, if you have time, you’ll be tempted to soak up the sun on the pool deck.
The rich Latin heritage of this attractive city is echoed in the continental décor throughout
the hotel, including the two luxury suites, six executive rooms and 150 well-appointed
guest rooms – some non-smoking and one specially equipped for paraplegic guests. Many
of the rooms have spectacular sea views.
All guest rooms are individually climate-controlled and offer satellite TV, direct-dial telephones with voicemail, wake-up call facilities and wireless internet, a comfortable work

Conveniently located 5km from the central business centre, meeting facilities on-site can
accommodate up to 40 people and equipment includes a data projector, screen, overhead

For leisure, you can’t beat the experience of diving along the Mozambique coast or the funfilled boat or air tours to beautiful Inhaca Island. The hotel itself offers a fitness centre, an

Attractions nearby include the Museum of Natural History, the Coin Museum, the Maputo
Elephant Reserve and a range of markets offering everything from fresh seafood to African

Travel tips for entry into Mozambique
Travellers may require a "Tourist" Visa for entry into Mozambique – please consult with your
travel agent.
If driving from South Africa:
• Present original documentary proof of vehicle ownership at the border;
• Plan your trip to arrive at the Komatipoort border post in time. This closes at 22:00
every day;
• The drive from the border post to Maputo is approximately 90km on the newly completed N4 toll road.
