Set up Busytown stations around the room. There should be a firehouse, school, airport, library, police station, post office, etc. Hand out pieces of paper to the children and have them visit each station to learn the words associated with it. Each time they visit a station, they should receive a stamp, sticker, or signature on their piece of paper. Once they have visited each station, hand out the sticker giveaways. Busy Words! During storytime, read Richard Scarry’s Best Little Word Book Ever. Encourage the children to call out each word as you point to the pictures. www.randomhouse.com/kids GOL_RichardScarry_EK_ActBroch.qxp:Layout 1 6/10/13 3:39 PM Page 4 Off to School!
