NOW OPEN 7 DAYS PER WEEK!
Greetings from Dr. Fresh!
As many of you may have heard by
now, as of May 30th (2013), I have had the
great honor of becoming the leader of the
Team at Fairway Dental … a Team that I
have found to be incredibly dedicated to
the Oral Health needs of our patients.
I also want to thank Dr. Mozeg for
his kind words introducing me in this
Newsletter announcement of the sale of
his Dental Practice.
Since the sale I have spent quite a bit of
time with the Team trying to understand
how this office has functioned in the past
including the many great successes and
also any particular challenges they have
had and still do have.
I want to assure all our loyal patients
that not only will I continue the excellent
work they have done in the past but will
work closely with them on any challenges
they have so they can be overcome.
And if you are a former patient I
personally invite you to come back and
give us a second look. I promise you,
you will be pleasantly surprised!
My priority is to make sure we take
care of the Oral Health needs of all our
patients with the utmost excellence,
respect, professionalism and to the
complete satisfaction of YOU – our
loyal patient.
The changes that we will be
bringing will be with the above goal in
mind – to serve YOU better above and
beyond your expectations.
I would also like to welcome
Dr. Inna Vol (see back page) to our
practice. Not only was I impressed with
her clinical skills – she is also very good
with children. I am looking forward to
having her on our team.
We want you to be able to proudly
refer us to all your friends and family
and I promise you personally we
will stop at nothing to earn your
admiration, respect and satisfaction!
Over the last 10 years I have had the
pleasure of leading 8 previous offices

through such transitions and have never
failed to deliver on the above promise.
If you have any questions or
concerns or just want to say hi, my
email is [email protected]
I look forward to meeting you all in
the coming months!
Sincerely,
Dr. Fresh
It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the sale of Fairway Dental to Dr. Kourosh Afrashteh (“Dr. Fresh”) as of May 30th
(2013). I will continue to be working in the practice as your Dentist for the near future.
Dr. Fresh received his B.Sc. in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto, his Ph.D in Neuroscience from the
University of Toronto and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 2001. While he practiced as an
Associate Dentist in clinics in Stoney Creek and Barrie (Ontario) for the first 2 years of his career, he has since been buying
and managing large Dental Clinics.
He is highly experienced in Dental Team Leadership and has a great vision for the practice. Also, on a personal note, he
is a wonderful, caring and compassionate individual. I am very much excited for the Team and our patients to see this smooth transition happen and
look forward to the coming changes.
I thank you all for your continuing loyalty and support over the years. Our Team is looking forward to working with Dr. Fresh in providing you the
highest level of dental care we can and in continuing to earn your trust and respect.
I am sure you will join us in welcoming Dr. Fresh to Fairway Dental as well as to our community!
Sincerely,
Dr. S. Mozeg
Working to serve you better!
Get The All-Generation Restoration
C ro w n s & bri dges go the distance
Whether young, old, or somewhere in between, things do happen that can damage
your smile. Probably the most devastating to appearance, self-esteem, and
lifestyle, is the loss of teeth. Whether caused by sports injuries, wear and
tear, or gum disease, missing teeth do need to be replaced to prevent
a myriad of other issues down the road.
The good news is that modern crowns
and bridges look, feel, and function just like
natural teeth. They’re durable and easy to
care for, plus they’re definitely more
attractive than gaps in your smile!
Benefits of Crowns
Shaped and colored like natural
teeth, crowns cover decayed or
damaged teeth or replace lost teeth.
When secured by an implant,
jawbone loss (which occurs when
teeth are lost) is arrested.
Benefits of Bridges
Usually attached to your
existing teeth, bridges support the
replacement of one or more missing
teeth with beautiful and durable
artificial teeth. They alleviate stress
in your bite and prevent shifting of
teeth adjacent to the gap.
before
after
No matter what your age, crowns and bridges can improve your quality of life. They restore your
natural bite, preserve the shape of your face, make you look and feel attractive, and allow you to
enjoy all the foods and activities you love! Call us today, and let’s discuss what’s best for you!
The world

Hide ‘N’ Seek With Sugar
A game you can win!
It’s no mystery that sugar resides in treats like candies, pastries, and soft
drinks, but did you know that it’s also hiding in foods like breads, dressings,
and lunch meats?
Most processed foods contain hidden sugar. Check the labels on chip bags,
cracker boxes, and even low-fat packaged foods, and if an ingredient ends
in “ose” (e.g. dextrose) or if the word “syrup” appears (e.g. corn syrup),
it’s sugar.
Without proper oral care, sugar can lead to cavities and gum disease, and a
high intake can cause obesity and an increased risk for heart disease and type-2
diabetes. In fact, the American Heart Association recommends a maximum of
just 6-9 teaspoons of sugar a day – about the amount in one can of soda!
We can’t avoid sugar altogether, but armed with knowledge and
willpower, we can reduce our intake for the sake of our mouth and
our health!
Exercise &
Smile Rejuvenation
Works!
Look and feel younger
It’s true that exercise makes us feel younger and more
vibrant, and as an added bonus, it also makes us look
younger. Research shows that regular activity affects us on
a cellular level, slowing, and even reversing, the external
and internal effects of time. Even the simplest exercises,
like taking a walk or a casual bike ride, are effective.
Are you sure your smile reflects your youthful spirit?
Let us help with simple rejuvenating procedures that can
even be done in just a visit or two!
n Whitening: Dentist-controlled systems are
customized for your unique needs and will make natural
teeth look their brightest.
n Replacement Fillings: Unsightly silver-colored
fillings can be replaced with attractive white composite
ones for a healthy, attractive, and uniform smile.
n Bonding: Cover teeth with a beautiful white resin to
reshape, repair damage, and fill in unattractive gaps.
With exercise and a healthy lifestyle,
we can delay the effects of ageing. With
modern dentistry, we can always make
your smile look as young as you feel!
Poor Oral
Maintenance
3 risks men take
We schedule tuneups for our precious car.
But why do some people skip dental checkups
that maintain their precious smile?
Men are almost 50% less likely than women to
maintain regular checkups, increasing risk for…
1. Periodontal Disease – Men are 26% less
likely to floss and are more likely to miss cleaning
appointments even though poor oral care is linked
to life-threatening diseases.
2. Oral Cancer – Tobacco users risk oral cancer.
Men are twice as likely to be affected than women,
yet they often skip checkups that include essential
oral cancer screening.
3. Dental Injuries – More often socialized to
take physical risks, males are more likely to suffer
face trauma. Wearing a mouthguard is essential
during body-contact sports.
It’s important that everyone – male or female –
practices good oral care and has regular checkups to
protect their precious smile!

n Veneers: Porcelain veneers can cover the front of
stained, damaged, and uneven teeth, perfecting their
color, shape, appearance, and alignment.
Excited!
Over the past 17 years I have had the great honor of
having established relationships with so many of you and
have seen many of you have children of your own coming
to our practice now.
The well-being of our patients is without a doubt my
number one priority as the Office Manager of Fairway Dental.
It is with that in mind that on behalf of the whole Fairway
Dental Team I want to welcome Dr. Fresh as our new leader!
In the brief time since the sale that I have spent with him and I believe I speak for the whole team – the enthusiasm and
care he expresses for the welfare and satisfaction of our patients
is truly contagious and is a relief to our whole Team that he
believes in the same values and principles we always have.
There will no doubt be some changes you will notice in the
coming months but I can assure you it will all be for the better
and to serve you – our loyal patients – in a manner that will
exceed your expectations.
Once again – thank you! Thank you for being such a
pleasure to work with and in trusting us with your and
your families’ Oral Health Care needs.
Looking forward to the future!
Sincerely,
Joanne Skalos
