We are, if you’ll pardon the pun, one of the pioneers of the reclaimed wood industry. Our doors opened in 1988 and we’ve since evolved into
a 50,000 sq. ft. shop and nine-acre yard. Our wood comes from the deconstruction of agricultural and industrial buildings. First we remove the
metal hardware from the raw timbers, a crucial and difficult task. Then the wood is resawn, graded, and prepared for its new life. The results

TIMBERS
We also supply quality structural and decorative timbers
from both reclaimed and fresh sawn sources in a variety
of species. Surface treatments include planed, sand-blasted,
rough-sawn, hand-hewn, wire-brushed and more. Pioneer
Millworks is one of the only sources of FSC certified
custom-cut Douglas fir timbers in the world.

AMERICAN RECLAIMED HARDWOODS
We offer two grades of hardwoods in many, many species. American Gothic is
more finished, with enough signs left over from its previous life to tell a story.
Settlers’ Plank has a more rugged look as it is based on the classic barn floor.
It has more nail holes, knots, saw marks and scuffs, plus highlights from the
wood’s natural vagaries. All of our reclaimed species are FSC certified.

We offer many wide board and softwood floors in a variety of surface treatments
including “shadow planing”, circle-sawn rough, band-sawn rough, hand planed,
and of course, smooth. Grandma’s Attic has an especially friendly feel thanks to
its careful selection and partial planing. Douglas fir is a versatile favorite, available
in grades from Knotty ‘N Naily to Premium Clear Vertical Grain. All of our softwoods
are FSC certified.

ENGINEERED FLOORING
Call us wood purists or environmentalists, but until recently we rejected the idea
of engineered flooring. Urged on by our customers’ needs we decided to do
something (green) about it. After 2 years of R & D, we created an engineered
floor we could manufacture in a way that’s healthy for you, our employees, and
the environment. It is the only engineered floor we could live with, and on.
What makes our engineered flooring unique:
• Thick wear layers to allow refinishing
• FSC wear layer and 70%+ FSC substrate
• Low VOC, formaldehyde-free adhesives
• Available Finished or Unfinished
• Made fully in the USA
ANTIQUE HEART PINE
Longleaf Southern Yellow Pine, or what we call “Heart Pine” was so desirable
that its 80 million acre habitat was almost completely logged off by 1910.
We mill this wood from old industrial timbers. It is dense and resinous with plenty of
character. Floors are durable and warm with dancing grain patterns and rich history.
All of our Antique Heart Pine is FSC certified.
