Scarborough - Dancing at The Royal Hotel
We again return to Scarborough and
to the Royal Hotel for our dancing
break. Pinpointed at the centre of Scarborough and overlooking the beautiful South Bay, The Royal Hotel is in the
perfect location to explore all that this
enchanting town has to offer, with
its fine beaches and stunning promenade. The Royal Hotel dates back
to the 1830s, and its grand imposing
architecture, including its famous
staircase and atrium, still bear all the
hallmarks of the Regency Period. Many
of the rooms have been refurbished,
however retain all their archaic ornamentation and historic spirit, which
mirror a time of class and style – certainly old charm at its best.

Yorkshire Dales
The Yorkshire Dales is home to outstanding scenery, a rich cultural heritage and a breathtakingly peaceful
atmosphere.
This is a superb Yorkshire itinerary with
excellent attractions included in the
price.
Our first excursion is stepping back
in time as we travel to Leeming Bar
and join the train on the Wensleydale
Railway for a 16 mile one-way journey to Redmire, passing through the
beautiful scenery of lower and mid
Wensleydale en route, admiring some
of the best views in the dales. After we
continue to the pretty market town of
Thirsk where there is time for lunch
in one of the many cafes before we
visit the World of James Herriot, which
tells the story of the life and times of
this famous vet and author and gives
a glimpse behind the scenes of the
popular TV programme.
Our next day out is to spectacular
Castle Howard, which dates back over
300 years and is set in 1,000 acres
of breathtaking parkland. Inside the
house take time to admire the interiors
including frescoes, paintings, statues
and beautiful furniture. The gardens
are well worth exploring. Perhaps take
a stroll along one of the terraces or lake
shores for far reaching and spectacular
views. We return to our hotel via the
beautiful city of York. There is so much
to see and do in this atmospheric city
it will be hard to choose.

World War 11 prisoner of war camp
and is the only museum of its type in
the world. The story of World War 11 is
re-created using sights, sounds, smells
and moving figures to give the feeling
that you are actually there in person.
The huts which once housed the prisoners now show exhibitions on subjects as diverse as The Home Front and
Human Torpedoes. Why not try a snack
or lunch in the “Prisoners Canteen” or
the “Officers Mess” or enjoy a drink in
the Garrison Cinema Bar?
