Plaza Verde is a newly opened convention center located in Numazu city. It can be conveniently accessed via a
70 minute Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo, and is a
3 minute walk from JR Numazu Station. It offers a large
convention hall, exhibit and event halls, and accommodation facilities. Very few other facilities in Japan are
able to provide all of these.
Compact and All-In-One
The biggest advantage of Plaza Verde is its convenience. Convention halls, exhibit event halls, and the
hotel are all very close together; a connecting corridor
from the hotel reception floor offers easy access to the
halls, and you can easily check in at the hotel after conferences.
The 4 story conference tower also has escalators in the
center to make it easier to access to each floor so you
will never need to wait in long line for an elevator. Connecting corridors on the 1st and 2nd floor take you to the
exhibit event halls and the multi-story car park so even
when it rains you will not have to worry about getting wet.

Two Halls with Different
Characteristics
Convention Hall A, which holds roughly 1000 (theater
style), is on the largest scale in the prefecture. Equipped
with motorized batons and a sound-lighting operating
room, the hall can be used for various kinds of events.
The hall can also be divided into two to hold multiple
events at the same time.
Convention Hall B on the 3rd floor can seat roughly 400
people in theater style. Its characteristic walls are made
of one solid timber to create a high-class atmosphere.
This sophisticated space can be used not only for events
and lectures but also for parties and receptions.
The convention halls are equipped with a large screen,
300 inch screen in Hall A and 250 inch screen in Hall B,
which makes it possible to broadcast an event held in a
different venue simultaneously.

Meetings or Luncheon Seminars
Plaza Verde provides a lot of options to choose for your
meeting venue. There are 12 meeting rooms of various
sizes, and all meeting rooms and conventions halls allow
food and drink, making them ideal for luncheon meetings.
301 and 302 meeting room on the 3rd floor hold roughly
100 people for medium sized conferences, and both
meeting rooms connect directly to Convention Hall B,
making them convenient to use for sub-venues.
There are 9 meeting rooms on the 4th floor, including 5
rooms that can be divided into two. Venue layouts are
flexible to suit your needs, and up to 14 multiple small
section meetings are possible to be held on the same
floor.

Plaza Verde is nicely decorated with local timber and
bine plants, and its open air garden is filled with seasonal flowers. The comfortable, eco-friendly space will help
you to relax and unwind, and maybe even come up with
new ideas.

winter having more sunny days compared to most of Japan. It’s less
affected by typhoons, and its predictably equable climate makes it
an ideal choice for conventions with fixed schedules. Shizuoka
also has a beautiful, natural environment with Suruga Bay, Mt.
Fuji, and other rivers and lakes, which accompanied with

Although Shizuoka Prefecture has a warm oceanic climate with four clearly
distinguished seasons, the climate is mild all year round and rarely gets affected

In Shizuoka Prefecture various kinds of events are held all the year. Some are
related to Mt. Fuji and others to fresh seafood from Suruga Bay. As the Shizuoka
prefecture stretches widely from east to west, events differ with areas, attracting

Hamamatsu Area is widely known as one of the nation’s top ‘Manufacturing Cities’. The area’s advanced skills include producing

Act City Hamamatsu (ACH) offers a full support service for efficient
convention planning with facilities that include conference rooms,
exhibition halls, and a hotel. ACH also has shops, restaurants, and
offices, and connects directly to the station of Shinkansen.
The Main Hall, Japan’s first 4-staged hall, can seat 2336 people. It
can host both theatrical plays such as opera, musical and kabuki,
and can also be used as a comfortable conference venue. The

The Concert Hall, ideal for classical music performances with its

The hotel is part of the super high-rise tower of Act City Hamamatsu, which features a music hall and a museum of musical instruments. Hamamatsu Station can be conveniently and directly
accessed via a moving walkway.

Conveniently located, Plaza Verde is a short 3 minute walk from JR
Numazu station. The exhibition hall can cater to exhibitions and

area of 3,875 sq. meters and a ceiling height of 12.6 meters, has no
support pillars and the floor has been finished in concrete. Direct
access is possible for large trucks, ensuring smooth loading and
unloading.
Convention Hall A, the largest-scale conference room in Shizuoka
Prefecture, has a capacity of 1000 seats and is equipped with a
300-inch screen. The hall can also be divided into two. Convention
Hall B, which can hold roughly 400 seats, has simultaneous translation booths, making it available for international conferences as
well. This sophisticated space can be used not only for events and
lectures but also for parties and receptions. Plaza Verde also provides 14 smaller meeting rooms suitable for seminars and/or small
group meetings. The convention center is adjoined by a hotel with
150 rooms. A connecting corridor from the hotel reception floor

The whole museum can be reserved for you and you’re guests, and includes guided aquarium

the frozen ‘coelacanths’ sit. For a meal, the neighboring restaurant provides dishes of deep sea

Opening in December 2011, the aquarium is the only place in Japan where you can see frozen
specimens of ‘Coelacanth’. Suruga Bay also lies just before the aquarium and is the deepest bay

Information on Climbing Mt. Fuji
Preparation
The weather on Mt. Fuji is very unpredictable. The temperature at the
summit is only 5℃ on average during the daytime. Please prepare yourself
fully with adequate equipment.
What to Wear
Long sleeve shirt, jacket, long trousers, hat, well-worn comfortable
trekking boots, rainwear, cold protection, changes of clothes.
What to Carry
Water (2L per day), a torch or head lamp, globes, towels, waste bags, cash
and small change, easy to eat snacks.

Regulations and Rules
●Thoroughly prepare yourself with adequate equipment before challenging Mt.
Fuji. It is very dangerous to climb in light clothes and with inadequate
equipment.
●Walk slowly and keep a steady pace.
●Descend the mountain immediately if you get mountain sickness, feelings of
fatigue, a headache, or dizziness.
●Make sure to carry hundred-yen coins to contribute for the bio-toilet (200 yen).
●Wear comfortable trekking boots that are well ‘broken in’.
●Carry cold protection, rainwear, and a change of clothes. The average
temperature on the summit is 5℃ daytime and below 0℃ at dawn.
●Prepare and take the minimum amount of cash necessary. Credit/Cash card
are not accepted at mountain huts.

Izu Peninsula Geopark is a big attraction of Shizuoka Prefecture,
apart from Mt. Fuji. This world class tourist destination can be visited
by ferry from Shizuoka City, or by train, bus or car from Tokyo,
Yokohama and the eastern part of Shizuoka prefecture. How about
making this peninsula that gives sense of the grand scale of
geological time a destination for your trip?
What is fascinating about
Izu Peninsula?
The geological history of the Izu Peninsula began approximately 20
million years ago. At that time, Izu was a collection of submarine
volcanoes located hundreds of kilometers south of Japan’s main
islands. With the northward movement of the Philippine Sea Plate,
Izu approached the main landmass of Japan and eventually collided
with Honshu. In this way the present peninsula was formed. The
peninsula formed about 600,000 years ago.In Izu, beautiful
landscapes created by volcanic and plate tectonic activities and
unique cultures add up to an unforgettable experience for you!
Experience the old submarine volcanoes
You can see remnants of old submarine
volcanism in southern and western parts of
Izu. The peninsula is just a ferry ride away if
you are in Shizuoka for a meeting.
In Dogashima, you can walk upon ancient
submarine volcanic products while listening
to the explanations by geoguides.
If you have free time, try the Kayaking tour.
Some geoguides will provide you an
irreplaceable experience.
Study about volcanism
You will meet a lovely pudding shaped
conical mountain at the eastern part of Izu
Peninsula. This is Mt. Omuro (Omuroyama
volcano), and it is about 75 minutes away
from Plaza Verde by car.
This volcano erupted about 4000 years ago.
A lift takes you to the top and you can walk
around the crater in about 40 minutes.
The Jogasaki coast is only 15 minutes drive
away from Mt. Omuro. It is a coastline full of
interesting walking trails.
