It is the matter of pride & extremely delighted to
know that the Entrepreneurship Development Cell
of NMAMIT, Nitte is carrying out good number
of Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps every year
not only in our college campus but also in

enterprises. This is the need of the hour & I
congratulate the entire team of EDC, NMAMIT
for their commendable job. I place on record my
thanks to the Government agencies who are

Message from Chairman’s Desk
I am happy to note that after a long gap, new issue
of EDC-Samachar is ready for release. My hearty
congratulations to EDC team for compiling the
proceedings of all activities conducted under EDC
to create entrepreneurial culture among the
students of Technical Institutions/Colleges in and
around Nitte. Our institution has taken “Services
to community” as one of its motto & thus all
activities are outcome based ones & help the
beneficiaries to become entrepreneurs. Several
Entrepreneurship Awareness programs conducted,
not only for our final year students but also for the
nearby college science students have really helped
in making them to think about becoming
entrepreneurs. Month long training programs in
skill development have made many students to get
employment in the related industries. Hoping
sincerely to conduct many fruitful, effective &
result oriented programmes in the coming years
also, as we have been doing in the past. Now there
is a change of Guard at EDC Cell at the College.
The new leadership will definitely bring lots of
newer ideas in the functioning of the cell.
EDC Samachar – 2016 will reflect the effective
functioning of EDC at NMAMIT. We would like
to express our heart-felt gratitude to Department
of Science & Technology, New Delhi,
Department of Industries & commerce,
Government of Karnataka, & Nitte Education
Trust, Mangalore, for their continued support in
carrying-out all these activities

Message from Chief Project
Leader’s Desk
From the past 12 years, the major emphasis
was given to create entrepreneurial culture
among
the
students
of
Technical
Institutions/Colleges in and around Nitte.
Entrepreneurship
Awareness
Camps
organized by EDC helped more than 6000
students to acquire entrepreneurship qualities.
The advisory Board of EDC also decided to
take up rural developmental programmes in
view of poverty alleviation, Based on the
decision taken in the Advisory Board
meetings, EDC has adopted a strategy of
creating awareness among the young
graduates and the importance in development
of entrepreneurship culture and ensuring
economic empowerment for rural women/
youth and farmers of Nitte and surrounding
villages. EDC joined its hands in promoting
economic empowerment of rural people
through setting up of sustainable, cost
effective, quality based rural enterprises and
creating job opportunities for the rural people.
The various hands on training given for the
graduate students in the thrust areas helped
them to take the initiatives to start their own
enterprise. EDC is offering all kinds of
support to those who started their own
venture in association with District Industries
centre.
Last month, I took charge of EDC @
NMAMIT. I thank the Management and
Principal for assigning me a highly
