Our Ofsted report, published in June 2014 commended the College on our outstanding
success rates for 16 year olds and our outstanding leadership and management
which has driven improved performance across the College. Ofsted commented

Travel and Tourism
There are so many career possibilities when you start a
Travel and Tourism programme. A world of opportunities
opens up to you with careers available as a tour
manager, resort rep, tour guide, travel agent, wedding
planner, tourism officer and cabin crew; you could even
work in a Theme Park!
Our programmes can be studied alongside a range of A
Levels and GCSEs including English and Maths. Most students
will also take part in a work experience placement as part of
their programme.
For an apprentice you will learn on the job, some
apprenticeships include attendance at the College, and you
have the support of the College and a dedicated assessor.
The College will also try and help you find an employer who is
looking to take on an apprentice. An apprenticeship gives you
the opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’.
Student Profile

Apprenticeships
The largest provider of apprenticeships in
North Lincolnshire is North Lindsey College. The
College offers Traineeships and Intermediate,
Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships.
A Traineeship helps prepare you for a job or an
Apprenticeship. It is normally for between 10 to
26 weeks and includes employability skills, work
experience and if needed, help with English and
Maths. You are also guaranteed an interview at
the end of the Traineeship to help you prepare for
work. The College will help you find a Traineeship
and we will work with employers to find a
placement that suits your future work interests.
Having work experience on your CV can really
help you when you are trying to get a job or an
Apprenticeship.
An Apprenticeship is a job with training – a
chance to earn while you learn. You are employed
in a job and you work towards qualifications as
well. The College can help find you an employer
and our current vacancies are on the National
Apprenticeship Service website.
www.findapprenticeship.service.gov.uk/
apprenticeshipsearch
Employers take on apprentices throughout the
year so new opportunities come up every week.
All apprentices have to work for a minimum of 30
hours a week including any time at College.
For some apprenticeships you may come into
College for about one day a week but for other
apprenticeships there is no college attendance.
For example, in engineering you would come
to College to work towards an engineering
qualification where you need to have classroom
and workshop training and support from College
staff. For an apprenticeship such as business
administration or customer service there is no
College attendance as all your work is done with
the support of an assessor in the workplace.
An Apprenticeship is like any other job – a vacancy
is advertised, you apply and then the employer will
decide whether you are suitable for the job. The
College can also provide support such as interview
skills training and help making sure your CV is up to
date.
Take a look at the types of apprenticeships we
offer. We regularly add new apprenticeship
frameworks so if you don’t see what you are
looking for then just ask. For further information
about Traineeships and Apprenticeships please

call 01724 295363.

are achieving our objectives of notifying
patients within two days but patients
are also telling us how pleased they are
with the service, and the speed.”
