Shore, MD, FACS General Information THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF OPHTHALMIC PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY (ASOPRS) The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) was founded in 1969 to establish a qualified body of surgeons who have training and experience in the highly specialized field of oculofacial plastic surgery. ASOPRS has achieved this through their commitment to the advancement of education, research and the quality of clinical practice in the fields of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery specializing in the eyelids, orbits, lacrimal system and face. Today, the Society has over 600 national and international members. To meet our mission, ASOPRS accredits and oversees postgraduate fellowships across the United States, training well qualified physicians in the field of oculofacial plastic surgery. ASOPRS presents an annual Fall Scientific Symposium prior to the AAO Subspecialty Day, as well as a Spring Meeting available to members only. ASOPRS is an honorary society, with entry requirements including a 2-year Society-sponsored oculoplastics fellowship, oral and written examinations and approval of an original thesis. Other pathways to membership are available to those who did not complete an ASOPRS-accredited fellowship, and for international oculoplastics surgeons. SYMPOSIUM OBJECTIVES • To provide a forum for presentation of new concepts, new data, and new techniques in cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery to enhance knowledge, competence, and outcomes. • To promote excellence in patient care and outcomes in all areas of cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital disease and surgery. • To present opportunities for exchange of knowledge with specialty experts and our colleagues. • To highlight areas of oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery where research activity has produced improved outcomes and highlight areas where additional research is needed. • To provide the results of scientific studies concerning new surgical techniques, devices or equipment in cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery. TARGET AUDIENCE The ASOPRS Fall Scientific Symposium is developed for all interested physicians and related health care personnel including, but not limited to, oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgeons, otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, dermatologic surgeons as well as general ophthalmologists. The meeting is also designed to be of interest to physicians in training and allied health personnel. CAMERA, CELL PHONE AND VIDEO RECORDING POLICY Attendees are strictly prohibited from photographing or videotaping the General Sessions, Posters, Videos, and/or Exhibit Hall. This includes taking pictures of the speakers, slides, and/or posters. The educational events will be monitored, and attendees violating this policy will be escorted from the symposium and not allowed to return to any part of the meeting. No refunds will be issued and future ASOPRS meeting attendance may be prohibited. CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION ASOPRS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor the Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians. The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity. The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. One CME credit may be claimed out of total 17.00 CME if the physician attends the YASOPRS Lunch Lecture, How to Build and Grow a Successful Practice. In addition, one self assessment CME (SACME) credit may be claimed if the physician completes the self assessment questionnaire included at the end of the online meeting evaluation. CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT ASOPRS is dedicated to advancing knowledge and skill in all areas of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, including medical and surgical management of aesthetics, orbital, eyelid and lacrimal disease. CANCELLATIONS ASOPRS issued refunds, less a $50 administrative fee, upon receipt of written notice on or before September 8, 2014. No refunds will be made after this date. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. ELECTRONIC EVALUATIONS/CME CERTIFICATES A link to an electronic evaluation will be provided to attendees via email. Hard copy evaluations will not be available. Please complete the electronic evaluation in its entirety after the meeting. You will have an opportunity to print a CME Certificate once you have completed the electronic evaluation. Your feedback is carefully considered when planning future meetings. Thank you in advance for completing the evaluation and helping ASOPRS improve our scientific symposium. ASOPRS has achieved this through their commitment to the advancement of education, research and the quality of clinical practice in the fields of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery specializing in the eyelids, orbits, lacrimal system and face. Today, the Society has over 600 national and international members. To meet our mission, ASOPRS accredits and oversees post-graduate fellowships across the United States, training well qualified physicians in the field of oculofacial plastic surgery. Other pathways to membership are available to those who did not complete an ASOPRS-accredited fellowship, and for international oculoplastics surgeons. www.asoprs.org ASOPRS 46 TH ANNUAL FALL SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM NOVEMBER 12-13, 2015 Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, NV ASOPRS Fall Scientific Symposium Program Book 55
