Wayne and Di Wayne and Diana Schneidman
Wayne and Diana Schneidman Wishing you the best in this holiday season and in the coming year! Dear Friends, As you may remember, Wayne and I (formerly Diana Cohen Harris) married in 2004, uniting our families of three Schneidman children and three Harris children. 2014 has been a year of progress and peace, as Wayne and I continue our work and fun activities. We have traveled a fair amount, including a family wedding in California, a visit to mother/mother mother/mother-in-law law Mil Schneidman to celebrate her 91st! birthday, and trips through the eastern half of the U.S. to visit family and friends. Big news: Our first grandchild! hild! Elva Ruth Partica was born on April 3 to Jennifer Schneidman Partica and husband, Harvey Partica, of Selinsgrove, PA. She is adorable. Wayne and I have visited twice and love the photos on Facebook. (We’re letting this card’s photos do the talking.) Harv teaches English at Susquehanna University and Jen is developing home home-based endeavors. Faye (Rivi) Harris is employed in genomic sequencing at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. After earning her master’s in biochemistry and molecular biology, she is engaged more deeply in medical research, building upon her previous work in clinical (medical) lab work. She had professional growth opportunities this year presenting research posters at national conferences. She has developed a line of jewelry that she has as sold at local craft shows and enjoys travel, photography, and more. Kimberly Schneidman handles Medicaid billing at Loyola Hospital in the Chicago area. She has moved to a new apartment in Bolingbrook that she loves. She is sewing up a storm of original creations and doing alterations as well. She also enjoys tutoring her math students—she is so talented at diagnosing weaknesses and crafting exercises to help students master them. Herschel Harris is a manager in auditing/accounting at Deloitte in Chicago, with a specialty in the commercial real estate industry. He enjoys life from his Lincoln Park condo, where his hobbies include biking and running (especially on Chicago’s Lakefront Trail) as well as basketball and an active social life with friends. Jeffrey Schneidman is a master certified auto technician with Mercedes-Benz of Bloomfield Hills, MI. He volunteers his time at a local organization that rehabs used cars for single, poor mothers. He is into camping, biking and other diverse outdoor interests and applies his natural aptitude for repairing things to household maintenance, appliances, HVAC and other challenges that come his way. He did an extended mountain bike ride in Virginia with friends this summer. Stuart Eli (“Eli”) Harris is in Finance at AT&T in Dallas, a job he took in 2012 after working as a sales associate with AT&T in the Chicago area. This year he completed his MBA at University of North Texas. He hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, and he runs at least once a week with Back on My Feet, a nonprofit dedicated to helping the homeless. Wayne is engaged in his computer support consultancy with long-term clients and one-off computer repairs. He loves kicking into problem-solving mode and resolving complex challenges. He seeks Chicago metro projects. He is on the board of UniForum Chicago, a Chicago-area open computing group, where he takes a lead in program planning. Wayne also loves photography and cooking. He does the majority of preparation and cooking for all our family get-togethers. My biggest professional accomplishment this year was publishing my book, Real Skills, Real Income: A Proven Marketing System to Land Well-Paid Freelance and Consulting Work in 30 Days or Less, available on Amazon in print and Kindle formats. (My website is StandUp8Times.com.) In addition to publicizing this book, I am writing more books on freelancing and consulting as well as brief, engaging ebooks on American history and culture for ESL (English as a Second Language) students. Plus I continue to freelance write for the insurance, asset management, and business fields. Wayne’s mother, Mil Schneidman, continues to thrive, living independently in her beautiful condo in Walnut Creek (San Francisco area), CA, where she swims almost daily. She is now a great grandmother times three. Sadly, my mother, Jeanette Cohen, passed away peacefully in October, mentally sharp and engaged in the world around her to the end. We value your friendship and wish you much health and happiness in the coming year. Love, Diana Stuart “Eli” Harris Faye Rivka Harris Harvey, Jennifer and baby Elva!
