Due to the variety of textiles, their treatments and the conditions
of application, which are beyond our control, the following instructions are given as a guideline only.
Trials must be done before each use.
Products must be kept into their boxes, protected from light.
Handle printable products with gloves.
Keep the roll at room temperature 24h before printing.
No chlorine bleach.

The Digital Knight line of transfer presses is the culmination of over four
decades of perfecting the design, mechanics and technology of heat press machinery.
All of these commercial digital presses by Geo Knight & Co boast heavy steel
welded frameworks built to hold up over many years of heavy use and stress.
At the heart of these machines is a state-of-the-art digital microprocessor
control and proprietary heat control circuit field tested beyond 10 million heating

Knight controller features an oversized Bright Blue Backlit LCD display for easy

Vapor Apparel was started in 2004
by two veterans of sublimation and
polyester fibers who had a vision to build
a company dedicated to sublimation

Cake Pan Transferring Instructions
Please read these instructions completely before you begin.
Supplies Needed
• Coated Cake Pans
• Sublimation ink transfers
• Press support to fit each size lid (2 x 1/2” thick rubber cushions)
• Heat resistant tape
• Oven mitt or heat-resistant gloves (for removing product from heat press)
• Thermal Rubber Mat, 1/8” thick
Note: If you did not purchase a transfer support from us, you can make one yourself by cutting a piece
of wood or mouse pad to fit snugly inside the lid of each cake pan (that means it has to be slightly
smaller than the lid itself).
Step 1: Adjust the Heat Press
For best results, always pre-heat your press.
Heat Press Temperature: 385-400o F
Dwell Time: 2.5 - 3 minutes - with a rubber mat
Pressure: Medium-Firm
Note: These instructions, including transfer times and temperatures, are based on the inks, paper, equipment and
supplies we use. Your inks, papers, etc. may require adjustments in your time/temp settings.
Step 2: Design & Print Your Transfers
1. The cake pans come in two different sizes. For best results, the transfers should be slightly smaller than
the surface of the lid. Bleeding off of the lid is not recommended because of the curved edges. We
recommend using our Design Templates to size your image.
2. Remember to print a mirror image so the final product will be correctly oriented once it is transferred.
Step 3: Transfer the Image
1. Place your transfer, face-down, on the cake pan lid. Make sure the transfer is registered correctly. We
recommend you cut out the transfer around the template border in order to properly register to the cake pan lid.
2. Secure transfer to lid with some heat tape.
3. Place the lid-transfer on top of the press support cushion.
4. Place the press support-lid-transfer in the center of the press bed. The press support should be on the
bottom (against the press bed) and the lid with the transfer on it should be on top, facing you.
5. Place the thermal rubber mat over the support-lid-transfer
6. Close the heat press. Using Medium-Firm pressure, press at 385 - 400o F for 2.5 - 3 minutes.
7. Open the press, carefully remove the rubber mat, the tin lid, and the transfer. Caution: The tin lid will be
HOT. We recommend using heat resistant gloves.
Transfer Tips, Techniques & Troubleshooting
• Prints light in places:
a. Check the accuracy of your press thermostat with a heat gun or temperature strip.
b. Check your time and temperature. You should be pressing at 385 - 400o F for 2.5 - 3 minutes with the
rubber mat. Lightness may be caused by too much time or heat (burnout) as well as too little time or heat. Try
adjusting the temp or pressing time.
c. Check your pressure. Your press may have a “cold” or worn spot. Try increasing pressure and/or moving
the tin to the left or right.
• The outside edges print light:
d. Check to make sure you are using firm pressure.
e. Make sure you have placed the cake pan lid in the center of the press.
f. Make sure your press support is smooth and even on both sides – and equal thickness all the way around.

Supplies Needed

Gluing Tips:
When gluing into wood frames or boxes a wide variety of silicone adhesives may be used.
When gluing glass or ceramic tiles into metal frames we recommend 100% silicone aquarium sealant.
Step 1: Adjust Heat Press
Heat Press Temperature: 400 o F
Dwell Time: Varies – see attached Chart
Pressure: Medium – Firm, depending on the tile. See attached Chart

Step 2: Design & Print Your Transfer
Design your transfer based on the tile size. If you are designing a fullbleed image, we recommend designing
the transfer so that it is at least 1/8” larger than each tile, all the way around.
Step 3: Transfer the Image
There are two basic transfer methods for tile – facedown using a Heat Resistant Felt Pad (Method 1), or
faceup using a Thermal Rubber Mat (Method 2). The method that is best for you may depend on the tile, the
press, and your personal preference. Important Note: 4x4 Tiles (U.S. only) require Method 2 below.
Method 1: Tile FaceDown
This method requires use of a Heat Resistant Felt Pad. Important Note: 4x4 Tiles (U.S. with spacers only) we
recommend Method 2 below or increasing temperature to 430 deg
1. Set heat press to 400 o F for ceramic or 425 o F for marble.
2. Your transfer paper should be at least 1/8” larger than the tile, all the way around.
3. Place Heat Resistant Felt Pad on heat press platen. For best results, we recommend two sheets of Heat
Resistant Felt Pads.
4. Place transfer on felt pad, faceup.
5. Place tile facedown on the transfer. You will be heating through the back of the tile.
6. Close the heat press. Refer to the attached Chart for time and pressure. The pressure is very important,
larger tiles and marble tiles can easily break with too much pressure.
Method 3.2: Tile FaceUp
This method requires use of a Thermal Rubber Mat.
1. Set heat press to 400 o F for ceramic or 425 o F for marble.
2. Your transfer paper should be large enough to wrap it around the tile so you can tape it into
place.
3. Tape transfer around tile using Heat Resistant Tape.
4. Place tile on heat press platen, faceup.
5. Lay Thermal Rubber Mat over tile. For best results, we recommend our grey Thermal Rubber Mats. They
are smoother and more heatconductive than other rubber mats on the market.
6. Close the heat press. Refer to the attached Chart for time and pressure. The pressure is very important –
larger tiles can easily break with too much pressure.
Tips & Troubleshooting
· Measure your tile before you design your transfer. Tile sizes are standard to the tile industry, not the printing
industry. So the sizes listed may not be the actual tile size. For example, there are three different variations of
6x8” tile, each one is a slightly different size.
· If you are designing a full bleed image your printed area should be at least 1/10” larger than the tile. If your
tile is 6x6”, your printed transfer should be 6.1x6.1”, etc. If your image is not a full bleed, print registration
marks slightly larger than the size of the tile.
· The tile should be centered under the main pressure point of your heat press platen.
· When pressing multiple tiles at once, we recommend leaving at least 1” space between each tile.
· When gluing these tiles into wood or metal frames we recommend 100% silicone aquarium sealant

Pressure Guidelines
· All tiles up to 6” x 6” should have firm pressure.
· Marble tiles and tiles that are 6” x 8” or larger require only medium to light pressure. Too
much pressure can break these tiles.
· Marble tiles have natural cracks in them. Be extra cautious with the pressure. Light
pressure is fine for Marble tile.

Remove plastic coating from the bracelet blank.
Lay down a
protective sheet of paper on to your heat press so not to get ink on the platen.
2. There are 2 options for this step.
(Option 1) - Lay bracelet blank face up lay image on bracelet and apply heat
tape, cover with another sheet of copy or butcher paper so you will not get ink
on your platen.
(Option 2) – Place a clean sheet of copy paper or butcher paper on the bottom
platen of the heat press. Lay image face up onto the paper, lay bracelet face
down on the image you can either use heat tape or not in this position it does
not really need to be taped down. Cover with another piece of clean paper and
press.
3. Let bracelet cool, bend it around a can or cylinder to get the cuff shape.

Round-Up No Weed
Laser Transfer Paper
Instructions
Introduction
This paper uses a single-sheet process to transfer a solid image (self weeding), without the background. Only the toner with colors that are 30% or
darker on the grey scale (the image) transfers to the textile … nothing else! This makes the image appear as if it were screen-printed onto the textile.
This paper can be utilized on most color laser copiers or color laser printers (both the older low temperature color laser copiers/printers that use fuser
oil and the newer high temperature color laser copiers/printers that do not use fuser oil). Note: This paper will not work on ink jet printers!
Printing RoundUp No Weed Transfers
We recommend that you feed one sheet at a time through your color laser copier or printer. Check your equipment default settings to determine
which settings works best for you (usually it will be Label, Transparency or extra heavy paper mode). Look up your media setting on our suggested
list of printers and copiers. The back side of each sheet is printed with a logo, so be sure you print your image on the other (front) side. Then print
your image on each sheet, using the mirror image setting on your printer. We have tested our paper in the most popular copiers and printers on the
market, and our paper works well in most.
Transferring RoundUp No Weed Transfers
Transfers printed on RoundUp No Weed may be transferred to cotton, cotton/polyester blend, and polyester T-shirts or fabrics. Use a conventional
heat press (do not use a home iron). After printing your design on the RoundUp No Weed paper, use the following settings on your heat press:
Temperature: 330° F
Platen Closure Time: 25 seconds
Pressure: Approximately 80 psi (heavy)
Peel: Wait 10 seconds before peeling
Upon removing the T-shirt from the heat press, wait about 10 seconds and then peel the paper from the T-shirt. For increased washability and
durability, we recommend that you place the T-shirt back into the heat press, cover the transfer with a sheet of siliconized kraft cover paper, and
repress the T-shirt for another 25 seconds (same temperature, platen closure time, and pressure settings).
Using a Textile Metallic Foil to Highlight the Transfer
Most commercially available textile transfer metallic foils can be used to highlight or “jazz up” your transfer. Place the T-shirt with the transferred
image back into the press (image side up), cover just the part of the image that you want to highlight with metallic foil (metallic side up), and cover
the entire image (including foil) with a sheet of siliconized kraft cover paper. Close the press (same temperature, platen closure time, and pressure
settings). Upon removing the T-shirt from the press, wait until the image is completely cool, then “cold peel” the foil. That’s it … you’re done!
Using a Textile Metallic Foil For Dark Fabrics
For black or dark T-shirts or fabrics, print your image with black toner (grey scale … not in color). Transfer the black image to the T-shirt (follow
the instructions above for “Transferring RoundUp No Weed to Textiles”). Of course, the transferred image will appear dark on the T-shirt. Now
apply any commercially available textile transfer metallic foil over the top of the entire dark transferred image on the T-shirt (follow the instructions
above for “Using a Textile Metallic Foil to Highlight the Transfer”).
Washing Instructions
To wash T-shirts decorated with RoundUp No Weed transfers, we recommend that you turn the T-shirt inside-out and use a cold water cycle. To dry
the T-shirt, leave it turned inside-out and tumble dry on a low-to-moderate heat temperature setting.
