Identical quality for all tyre “lives”. This is the target of Pirelli Lifecycle Management, the Pirelli Retreading system
aimed at increasing Pirelli casing value through three key elements: tyre conception and production quality,
optimised range of Novateck bands, network of selected retreaders.
Casing quality
Pirelli maximises the casing retreadability starting from the casing project and
the selection of the new tyre materials. In fact all the variables that will impact
on the tyre during the whole life need to be taken into account also for
ensuring higher retreadability.
Selected network
Pirelli selects the best in class retreaders through a rigorous qualitative audit in
order to be able to provide its customers a high quality retreading process. The
qualitative monitoring applies for both casing selection performed by the
retreader and the retreading process itself.
Novateck bands
An optimised range of bands for all applications offers a wide choice for all
customers needs. The Novateck bands use only Pirelli original tread patterns
in order to ensure the perfect match with the casing even after the first life. This will guarantee performance and
quality similar to the ones of new products.

PIRELLI SEGMENTATION
LOW SEVERITY
Products destined for long-distance transport vehicles on motorways
or major roads with relatively low specific tread wear characteristics.
MEDIUM SEVERITY
ON
Products destined for vehicles used on medium-distance work on
moderately abrasive surfaces and windy roads.
HIGH SEVERITY
Products destined for vehicles used on roads with abrasive surfaces
and/or in mountainous areas. Also for urban and suburban
transportation of people (city buses) or goods (delivery).
SEVERITY
ON-OFF
Products destined for vehicles used on mixed road/site work with rapid
tread wear and abrasive surfaces. Typical conditions for construction
vehicles.
ON/OFF
Pirelli’s segmentation of the commercial
vehicle market is based on the concept of
severity. The classical division of use “on
road - off road” has been further broken
down into six major areas of service,
diversified and graduated according to the
increasing severity of the road and vehicle
use.
The “severity” parameter has a direct
impact on all the variable elements in tyre
selection, both technical (materials used,
designs, etc.) and economic (wear,
operating costs, duration of first life and
useful life, etc.).
The cross between the level of severity and
the type of vehicle indicates the
requirements of the optimal tyre for each of
the segments.
