All Play, No Work…
Well, it’s almost no work at all keeping Wilsonart Flooring in top shape – even in the busiest, most creative child’s
room. Crayons, markers, scooters, you-name-it, have no effect on this floor. Plus it won’t harbor dust, mold, mildew
or other allergens, so when it looks clean…you know it is!

Mirror, Mirror
There’s something magical about mirrors. They add
shine and sparkle to a room, increasing light and
creating a sense of larger space. Leaned against
a wall, a majestically-sized mirror offers a new
perspective of the room and the character and warmth
of Wilsonart Flooring.
Chosen for its own sparkling beauty, Wilsonart Flooring
delivers the authentic look of wood – with a choice
of either beveled or non-beveled edges. Our flooring
collection also features three different board widths:
3 1⁄2", 5" and 7 3⁄4". Shown here in Founders Oak is
a combination of 5" and 7 3⁄4" planks – a design option
that offers a unique, natural look.

On A Smaller Scale
While large-scale flooring tends to work very well
in larger rooms, smaller rooms may feel more
proportionate to our narrower 3 1⁄2" and 5" plank

several samples of the flooring you are considering
and lay them in place to gauge the effect. Remember,
too, that lengthwise patterns add depth to rooms,

Tile It With Style
Whether you’re thinking of a traditional ceramic

style beautifully.

Pueblo Stone
Everyone loves the natural beauty and charm of
ceramic and stone tile – but it does have inherent
drawbacks. Grout can stain without proper sealing and
routine maintenance. And tile can be cold, hard and
unforgiving. With Wilsonart Flooring, however, you’ll
enjoy the benefit of a warmer, more comfortable
surface underfoot along with super easy maintenance:
no grout cleaning, sealing or replacement required!
Laying Tiles
Wilsonart Flooring tiles look great when installed in
Clift Slate, W3000209
a traditional corner-to-corner manner – and the large
15 1⁄2" square format fits right in with today’s trend
toward larger format tiles. If you’re installing the tile in
a small area, consider having the tile laid diagonally.
And for a totally different twist on tradition, you can
even lay the tile in a staggered manner, similar
to creating a brick pattern.

Defining the Details
Color adds life and personality to a space, setting the mood for
the entire room. A splash of red, for example, hints at your sense
of passion while yellow is a vibrant, happy color. And nothing
says ‘regal’ quite like purple! Colors even seem to affect the
‘temperature’ of a room – reds and oranges feel warm, while
blues and greens feel cool.
Create Your
Own Idea Book
You know what you like - and that’s the
most important place to start when you’re
choosing a decorative product like
flooring for your home. Start collecting
photos from magazines and websites that
reflect ideas or looks you want to “copy”
for your own. Put them into a folder or
binder so you can show your flooring
retailer the look you’re after – because after
all, you’ll be living with your new flooring
for a long time to come.
A Few Tips on Design
Light-colored floors can help make a space
seem brighter and larger while dark-colored
floors lend drama and character.
It doesn’t have to be a “perfect match”.
Flooring needn’t match your furniture
or cabinets to make itself at home.
Combining different woods will add
visual interest and excitement.
Mid-to-large size rooms call for wider width
flooring that is more in scale with the room’s
overall dimensions.
Narrow planks help ‘stretch’ your space.
Install the flooring across the narrowest
width of the room or on the diagonal
for a more expansive feeling.
Nouveau Walnut, W21C0002
For a less formal look, try mixing wide
and narrow width planks. Beveled edges,
lighter colors and textured surfaces can
also soften up the look.

Light & Color
Colors are flattered by lighting with similar hues. Warm
incandescent light enhances yellows, reds and oranges. Daylight
bulbs enhance blues and greens, while clear halogen lighting
showcases intense colors. White walls flatter all colors because
they enhance both natural and artificial light.

Permaplex®
Laminate
Permaplex® is High
Pressure Laminate at its
finest. Manufactured only
by Wilsonart Flooring, the
surface is more than
250% thicker than other
laminate flooring surfaces.

HPL Construction –
the Wilsonart Difference
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) is manufactured at 1400 PSI
of pressure. In comparison, Direct Pressure Laminate (DPL) is
manufactured at 300-500 PSI. Even though both laminate types
are made of the same basic materials, the pressure used
in the manufacturing process helps determine both hardness
and performance.
45 mil Wear Layer
HPL Advantages
• Better wear resistance – fewer scuffs and scratches
High Pressure
Laminate
• Better static load capacity – no dimpling
High Pressure Laminate
is manufactured at 1400
pounds per square inch.
The laminate and highpressure balancing backer
are then bonded (using high
pressure) to a water-resistant
HDF core using a
urea-based adhesive.
• Better design clarity – higher sheen levels
• Better impact resistance – no denting
• High in-carton product integrity –
less damage in handling, less damage
during installation, no chipped corners

Direct Pressure
Laminate
Direct Pressure Laminating
fuses the wear layer and
decorative sheet onto the
core material using pressure
between 300-500 pounds
per square inch.
The following test was used to show the difference between Direct
Pressure Laminate (DPL) and High Pressure Laminate (HPL). Laminate
flooring planks were laid on Wilsonart 2-In-1 Pad and placed on
concrete. A simulated can weighing 396 g (the weight of a 14 oz. can
of soup) was dropped vertically from a height of 36 inches (standard
countertop height) onto the floor’s decorative surface. The resulting
damage was cross-sectioned and photographed at 10x magnification.
