One key recipe ingredient for raising a
successful child is...
Studies have shown that a child’s reading success in
kindergarten and beyond is directly related to their prereading experiences from birth to age five. A child who is
read to is more likely to read at or above grade level at the
end of 2nd grade and will be successful readers and learners
throughout their life.
Emma Clark Library is dedicated to early childhood education.
This new web app is our design and is exclusive to our Library.
Check it out! The Children’s Librarians have chosen many age
appropriate titles for your children from birth to 5 years.
Keep your list of read books on our site. If your child has a
favorite that he/she loves to reread, you can read it and add
it to the list as many times as you like.
Don’t Wait! Now’s the time to take advantage of this
opportunity to get your child started on a
successful path.
Let’s get started.

Emma S. Clark Memorial Library
Today’s world is moving at a pace so fast, it’s sometimes hard to keep up, especially with
technology. Emma Clark Library understands the importance of education and that’s
why we are going to focus this year on lifelong learning which is the continuous, voluntary
and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons.
Simply put, it’s “You. Beyond.” As part of this initiative, we would like to introduce our
newest online venture, lynda.com. This is also a good time to reintroduce Mango
Languages and the recently enhanced Learning Express Library.
Lynda.com

In Memoriam
Cynthia Ginsberg
Cynthia Ginsberg, a long-time library board
member, having served on the Emma S. Clark
Memorial Library Board of Trustees for over 13
years, recently passed away. Mrs. Ginsberg,
a retired Three Village Central School District
teacher joined the board in December of
2000 as a trustee and went on to serve as
Secretary (2003-2004), Treasurer (2005), VicePresident (2006-2007), President (2008-2009)
and continued to serve as a trustee from 2010
– 2014. Mrs. Ginsberg considered her work on
the board to be part of her civic responsibility
and worked tirelessly to ensure that the library
remained a place for free and open exchange
of ideas, education and a welcoming place
for all. The Board of Trustees recognizes her
many contributions to the library and to the
Three Village community. She will be missed.
This newsletter is dedicated to her memory.
The Emma S. Clark Library’s 2014 “Advanced
Battle of the Books” team, The Seven
Deadly Wins, participated in the countywide
“Advanced Battle of the Books” competition
at Brentwood Library on March 28th.
Congratulations to all team members for
doing a great job!
