Dear Friends of the Key,
The 13th Annual Key Committee has never been this
excited about the event since the first one in 2002!
We are offering more merchandise, more travel, and
more uniqueness than ever before!
It’s ironic that the same year we are celebrating the
community the 125th anniversary of the name
change from Plum Creek to Lexington, we are
blazing into the 21st century with unbelievable
technology.
By offering “mobile bidding” on all of the silent
auction items, we are able to offer many more items
with a wider price range. The congestion around the
silent bid tables and bid cards is gone! You will be
able to bid on more than 300 items from your cell
phone whether or not you are at the Key event
Saturday night or not!
Simply register your credit card and cell phone
number on-line at qtego.net/auc/lcf, or at the
door Friday or Saturday nights. Be sure to have
your phone fully charged and bring your charger
cord just in case your phone runs low. Once you
start your “text-bidding” you will automatically be
notified when you are outbid or actually win the
item. No more guaranteed bids and no more racing
to the bid card at closing time. There will only be
two closing times for the silent auction portion of
the evening, 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
If you don’t like the new “techy” bidding format, no
problem. We’ll have several attendants with iPads
to assist you with your bidding all evening long.
Some things haven’t changed. We still have raffles
for cash, Berkshire-Hathaway “B” stock, and beef
certificates. The live auction will have over 60
items featuring auctioneer, Cory Palmer, keeping
things moving all night long.
Please take time to read through this catalog and
visit our website! Notice the incredible number
of volunteers willing to help with this four day
event. Pay particular attention to the businesses
and individuals listed as donors of items and as Key
Friends. These names represent where this evening
truly begins.

Dear Friends of the Foundation
Welcome to Key 2014. We are so glad you are
here. I look forward to this event each Spring
because it is such a celebration of the work we
can do together. Hundreds of donors are
represented, bidders are extraordinarily
generous, and untold hours are volunteered in
preparation for the Key. The community
comes together and the result is an evening that
not only supports so many charitable projects,
but celebrates collaboration, philanthropy and
friendship. It's been a busy year for your
community foundation. The committees have
been hard at work on grants, scholarships,
investments, and capital projects.
Construction on the Orthman Community
YMCA is on schedule, work on the Majestic
Theater is underway, new sections of the
Johnson Lake Trails have been poured, and
Give Big was another huge success, benefiting
more than 65 local charitable causes. None of
this is accomplished with a small group of
people, it is all done with the help and support
of an entire community. Thank You. It is our
sincere hope that you enjoy this evening of
celebration!

NEW BIDDING PROCESS!
Key '14 Silent Auction is going paperless! This
year we are pleased to announce the inclusion of
the QTEGO mobile bidding system at Key ‘14.
With QTEGO, you will be able to bid
throughout the evening from anywhere at the
event using your mobile phone or with a
designated Bid Concierge. You will have the
capability of texting your Silent Auction bid via
your mobile phone without leaving your seat.

The Live Auction will begin at 8:00 p.m.
and will continue until all Live Auction
items have been auctioned. Live Auction
items will be on display from 5:00 - 9:00
p.m. at the Friday, April 25th Preview
Night and at 5:00 p.m. until the end of the
evening Saturday, the night of the Key.
The Live auction will be conducted in the
same manner as it has been done in the
past. You will be issued a bid number that
will correspond to the number you entered
at registration. Your total amounts
purchased on the live auction will be
added to the totals from silent auction and
raffle chance purchases.
To enter a bid, raise your Bid Number high
enough to attract the attention of the
auctioneer. Bid Takers will be available to
watch for bids and call out bids to the
auctioneer. You are responsible for all bids
made on your behalf.
SILENT AUCTION
The Silent Auction tables will be open from
5:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Friday Preview Night
and at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, the night of the Key.
The Silent Auction tables will close at 8:00 and
10:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26th.

General Auction
Rules
1. All sales are final, and there will be no
exchanges or refunds on items except
where specified.
In most cases all items and services
must be used within one year.
2. Use only the Bid Number registered to you.
This is your number for bidding purposes,
and you are responsible for any bid made
with your number.
3. You will receive a text message if you have
made a successful bid. If the successful
bidder previously signed up for Express
Checkout, simply display their winning bid
notification to the Auction Table Host to
pick up their item(s). If not signed up for
Express Checkout, the successful bidder
will need to check out first and then
proceed to pick up their item(s).
4. Payments may be made with cash, check,
MasterCard, Visa, American Express or
Discover Card. Payment is mandatory the
evening of the Key 2014 unless other
previous arrangements have been made.
Group purchases will be allowed. It will be
necessary to coordinate with a QTEGO
representative if a bid is to be split.
5. Items must be removed the evening of the
Key 2014 unless other arrangements have
been made.
6. Lexington Community Foundation and the
donors make NO express or implied
warranties of fitness, merchantability, or the
like, or representations of any kind or
nature with respect to the property or
services being sold at this auction. NO
statement in the catalog or statements at
the sale shall be deemed to be a warranty,
representation, or assumption of liability.
Neither Lexington Community Foundation
nor the donors are responsible for any
personal injuries or damages to property or
services sold.
7. To determine the amount of your charitable
contribution, consult your tax advisor.
Values set forth on the items being
auctioned are the donor’s estimate and are
not warranted by the Key 2014.
8. If the item purchased requires donor
assistance, it is suggested that the donor

the Key 2014.
