HID AUTO VISION HID KIT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – RELAY
1. Remove headlight assembly if necessary to access current halogen bulbs (Varies by vehicle).
NOTE: Check your owner’s manual to ensure proper procedure required to change the headlight bulbs on your
particular vehicle.
2. Remove Halogen Bulb from headlight assembly.
H1 - Remove Cap by twisting to the left (typically but varies by vehicle). Once cap is
off there will be a small metal clamp that holds the bulb in place. You must push in
and pull down on this clamp to release the bulb. Pull bulb out towards you. Then
disconnect two spade connectors from halogen bulb (This connector will be needed
later).
H3 - Remove Cap by twisting to the left (typically but varies by vehicle). Once cap is
off there will be a small metal clamp that holds the bulb in place. You must push in
and pull out on this clamp to release the bulb. Pull bulb out towards you. Then
disconnect two spade connectors from halogen bulb (This connector will be needed
later).
H4/9003 – Remove Rubber book. Once boot is off there will be a small metal clamp
that holds the bulb in place. You must push in and pull out on this clamp to release the
bulb. Pull bulb out towards you. Then disconnect two spade connectors from halogen
bulb (This connector will be needed later).
NOTE: The procedure for changing an H4 High/Low is identical as changing an H4 Single Beam. As long as the
housing is H4 this part is the same.
H7 - Remove Cap by twisting to the left (typically but varies by vehicle). Once cap is
off there will be a small metal clamp that holds the bulb in place. You must push in
and pull out on this clamp to release the bulb. Pull bulb out towards you. Then
disconnect two spade connectors from halogen bulb (This connector will be needed
later).
H8/H9/H11 - Twist bulbs to the left and then pull out towards you. Then remove
connector from halogen bulb (This connector will be needed later).
H13/9008 – Twist Bulb counterclockwise (left) by wings then pull bulb out. If halogen
that is all you need to do. If HID the bulb it will separate into two pieces. The base of the
bulb will be removed by turning base of bulb counterclockwise then take the locking
piece with wings out by turning that counterclockwise.
NOTE: The procedure for changing an H13/9008 High/Low is identical as changing an H13/9008 Single Beam. As
long as the housing is H13/9008 this part is the same.
9004/9007 - Twist large plastic nut around base of bulb. This will loosen the bulb, pull
out towards you. Then remove connector from halogen bulb (This
connector will be needed later).
9005/9006/H10 - Twist bulbs counterclockwise (left) and then pull out towards you.
Then remove connector from halogen bulb (This connector will be needed later).
NOTE: While all these images show removal of an HID bulb, it is going to be removed and installed into the
housing EXACTLY like the halogen bulb would.
3. Once old bulbs have been removed and unplugged take HID Bulb and remove from
packaging.
4. Install the HID bulb into your headlight housing in the reverse order of the halogen bulb
removal.
6. Since we are installing a relay harness you will only be using one of the original factory
harnesses that were unplugged previously from the halogen bulbs.
7. If you have a cap over your bulb please continue to step 8, if no cap then sip to step 12.
8. If cap is installed then you must first drill a 1” hole into the cap. Once hole is drilled push
wires through using the rubber grommet to seal the cap.
9. Ensure that once the grommet is installed the 2 bullet connectors are exposed when cap is on.
10. Make sure that grommet is seated inside groove that allows for proper seal.
11. Screw cap back on and plug in the two bullet connectors coming off cap into ballast bullet
connectors.
NOTE: If Using a Bi-Xenon Relay for High/Low HID, Please reference image below. There will be an additional
connector coming off the relay that plugs into the bulb as well. This is the High/Low switch.
12. Unpack Relay and find the red wire that has a small circular end and a fuse inline.
13. Connect the red wire found in to the positive side of your battery.
14. Next find the connector on the relay that connects to your factory halogen (connector
removed in step 1).

NOTE: For all factory harness connection this will be the same whether it is a relay installation or not. The only
difference is whether you plug one factory harness into the relay harness or whether you use wires on the bulbs to
plug into both factory harnesses.
15. Connect the Relay harness end into the factory halogen harness. THIS ONLY NEEDS TO
BE DONE ON THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE THAT THE BATTERY IS ON. The other side
will not be used when using a relay.
16. Next take and run the relay across the vehicle to the other headlight assembly.
17. There will be a ground wire connected to each ballast wire and this must be grounded to the
frame of the vehicle.
NOTE: Please ensure that the surface used for the ground wires is bare metal.
18. Then Plug in the ballast connectors on each side.
NOTE: This step will be the same whether it is a Bi-Xenon Relay or a Single Beam Relay.
19. Once the ballast connections have been plugged in from the relay. Turn on vehicle to test
lights before hiding wiring and mounting ballasts.
20. Once it is ensured that everything is functioning properly, ensure that ballasts are mounted in
a place where they will not be damaged or jolted around during normal driving conditions.
Ensure that wiring is properly ran and tied up to ensure clean installation.
21. ENJOY YOUR NEW HID HEADLIGHTS!
IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind that if your light pattern is shining to high you may need to adjust your
headlights so that the light points downward. This ensures that your lights do not glare and blind oncoming traffic.
Please check your vehicle’s manual to ensure proper adjustment.
