Raffle Rules and Regulations
The Heartland Community College Foundation Dream Vacation Raffle (“raffle”) to benefit the Heartland
Community College Foundation Scholarship Program is conducted by the Heartland Community College
Foundation (“Foundation”), an Illinois not-for-profit corporation. Please review the information below and
contact the Foundation at (309) 268-8110 or [email protected] if you have questions.
Each purchaser of a raffle ticket acknowledges and agrees to the following:
Ticket Sales
• The purchase price for each raffle ticket will be $25.00.
• No more than 500 tickets will be sold by the Foundation.
• T
ickets may be purchased with cash, check or credit card. If a purchaser’s check is returned unpaid
by the bank, the raffle ticket(s) will be invalid unless a cash payment is received by the Foundation by
8:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, Thursday, September 15, 2016, the official raffle deadline.
• A
raffle ticket purchaser must legibly write their full name, address, email, and telephone number on
each individual ticket stub. If more than one name is stated on a ticket stub, the first listed name will
be eligible to win.
• All raffle purchases will be final and non-refundable.
The Drawing
• P
urchasers will retain the original printed raffle ticket. The stub will be entered into the drawing and
will be retained by the Foundation.
• T
he winner of the raffle will be determined by random drawing which will take place on Thursday,
September 15, 2016 at 8:30 p.m. Central Standard Time at the Foundation’s Evening of Dreams event
at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bloomington, IL. Ticket purchasers do not need to be present to win.
• T
he winner will be responsible for all local, state, and federal taxes, including income taxes assessed
in connection with the raffle prize.
The Prize
•T
he winner of the raffle will be entitled to a 6 day/5 night stay at the Riu Bambu in Punta Cana,
Dominican Republic. At least one member of the winner’s traveling party must be a responsible adult
at least 25 years of age. The winner will meet with Suzi Davis Travel to make all travel arrangements.
• The winner agrees to allow the Foundation to publish his or her name and photograph.
• The Foundation and its affiliates will not be responsible for any losses or injuries suffered in
connection with the winner’s use of the raffle prize.
• If the Foundation has not sold at least 200 raffle tickets and received full payment by 8:00 p.m.
Central Standard Time, September 15, 2016, the Foundation will convert the vacation raffle into a
50/50 raffle. In lieu of a vacation package, the winner will receive half of the proceeds from the sale of
raffle tickets.
Disclaimers and Restrictions
• Raffle ticket purchasers release the Foundation, its directors, officers, employees, and agents and
Heartland Community College, its trustees, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability,
loss, or claim arising from or in connection with the purchaser’s participation in the raffle and/or use
of the raffle prize. The Foundation makes no expressed or implied warranty as to the raffle prize.
• Any and all disputes, claims and controversies arising from or in connection with the raffle that
cannot be informally resolved will be subject to litigation in the McLean County, Illinois, circuit court.
• Raffle participation is void where prohibited.
