Skimmer Effect
Skimmers enable dirt particles to
be sucked off the water surface
before they sink to the bottom and
contaminate the pond.
The top section of the skimmer
floats on the water surface at the
optimum position being secured by
an air cushion.
The pump sucks off a thin film of
water causing a current of water
towards the skimmer on the surface
of the pond.
Large items such as leaves or grass
are trapped by the skimmer filter
cage and can be removed from time
to time; smaller dirt particles flow
into the pond filter for filtration.
An additional positive biological
side effect is achieved through
sucking off the warm surface water:
the temperature of the water at
the bottom of the pond remains
constant, thus reducing the creation
of algae. Skimmers can be used as
a suction filter for the pump to operate a waterfall or brook. They are
quickly cleaned without dismantling
the pump.

Systematic Filter-Optimization
The effect of the Bio-UV filter is easily and effectively optimised,
through the use of a „Vortex-Chamber“ – in particular when
used in ponds and pools containing fish.
The slowly rotating currents cause dirt particles, plant residue
and fish excrement to sink; these are then collected in the
„waste-chamber“. The ball-valve facilitates simple and
convenient waste drainage.

Small garden ponds:
Fight nutrients
The best way to keep garden ponds
clear is by employing a multi-chamber filter system.
These systems degrade any excess
nutrients, in particular nitrogen
compounds, in the course of a
multi-stage process after the water
was cleaned mechanically in a
preceding step.
The brushes installed in the wellproven Uni-Fil serial filters of the
first filter chamber take care of this
mechanical cleaning process. The
subsequent chambers house filter
media that provide tried-and-tested
surfaces for nitrogen-decomposing
strains of bacteria.
As it systematically flows to all filter
media from the bottom following the
so-called up-flow principle, the water covers a longer distance inside
the filter and is, therefore, cleaned
in a particularly thorough manner.
All Uni-Fil serial filters are made of
durable, buckling-resistant polyester
plastic.
They have large-size inlets and
outlets and include waste water
drains with a generous diameter of
50 mm in order to ensure that even
leaves will be reliably flushed out of
the filter.
All filters are equipped with a
matching connecting kit.

Our professional Master-Fil serial
filter is the right choice when it
comes to garden ponds that require
a higher extent of maintenance: It
is made of premium high-quality
polyester and offers a larger filter
capacity suitable for extended
cleaning intervals. The bases on
which they rest are wider, allowing
the weight of the filled filter to be
distributed evenly.
Exceptionally versatile: It is possible
to install the inlets and outlets either
on the front edge or on the long
side in conjunction with the waste
water drains.
As they are connected to the filter
using flexible EPDM sleeves, the
waste water drains can be replaced.
Extra benefit: All connecting kits
and filter media packages can
be combined as needed and are
available as accessories.
The wide design of the drop shafts
allows the water to flow to the filter
media from the bottom in an even

Fish pond filters:
Removing coarse dirt efficiently
Garden ponds populated with fish
will always show a higher level of
contamination. Filters are fed an
increased amount of suspended
matter that is caused not only by
added fish feed but also by the
dabbling of the fish. Unless the
filter includes a stage designated to
discharge this suspended mat-
ter, e.g. a vortex chamber, more
frequent cleaning intervals will be a
foregone conclusion.
The vortex serial filters of the ProFil series utilise a vortex chamber.
The water flowing into the round
chamber will reduce its flow rate,
causing any suspended matter
floating along to simply sink to the
bottom of the chamber.
Opening the waste water drain
every now and then will flush out
the suspended matter.
Since the mechanical filtration using
brushes will not take place until the
water reaches the next chamber,
the brushes will remain cleaner for
a longer period of time.
The biological filtration will take
place in the downstream chambers.
Housed in these chamber are wellproven filter media that offer a large
surface allowing strains of nitrogendecomposing bacteria to latch on.
The direct flow to the filter
media occurs following the
up-flow principle.

Koi pond filters: Complete and
efficient
Koi ponds show a particularly high
level of contamination due to the
activity of the fish. Meanwhile, the
systems are operated at a higher
flow rate to account for the high
metabolic rate of the animals.
Even vortex chambers will not be
able to filter out the suspended
matter appropriately unless they
are of significant size.
The application of multi-chamber
filtering technology for koi ponds
has, therefore, shifted to Centro-Fil
CenterVortex filters. Contrary to
serial filters, these types of filters
include a circular arrangement of
the filter chambers, which leaves
more space to accommodate vortex
chambers with large diameters,
and also come with a dome shaft
that functions as a central drain.
This makes it possible to calm
large quantities of water, forcing the
suspended matter it carries along
to simply sink to the bottom of the
chamber. An even higher level of
tranquillity can be reached by employing the optional vortex comb.
Four additional filter chambers will
then filter the pond water in the
same way as a conventional serial
filter.
Their compact size makes the
products included in the
Centro-Fil series ideal for
installation in locations where
space is limited.
What is more, the filters are
particularly well-suited for use
in gravitation mode.

Clear is the pond.
Its fully automatic self-cleaning
feature makes it an indispensable tool for every modern garden
pond. Guided into drum filters, the
pond water passes through a fine
filter screen from the inside to the
outside. Suspended matter will
remain attached to the screen from
the inside. High-pressure nozzles,
controlled by float switches, flush
the dirt automatically into a specially moulded waste water tray and out
of the system. Clear is the pond!

are capable of cleaning garden

volume of up to 200.000 litres.

to decompose nutrients that remain

Ultraviolet light with a wavelength
between 200 and 280 nm (nanometres) has a germ-reducing effect.
The cell structure of bacteria and
algae is most efficiently harmed by
UV-C radiation with a wavelength of
254 nm.
The genetic make-up (DNA) of the
algae is altered in such a way that
microorganisms will no longer be
able to reproduce and, consequently, die off. The UV-C bulb used in
UV-C Lamps are of limited service life and should be
replaced at the end of each season.

required intensity of radiation.
Since the alteration of the cell
structure takes only a few seconds,
UV-C radiation does not require that
the pond water remain long inside
the UV-C lamp.
TIP
We recommend to install the UV-C
lamp in the horizontal position.
If the lamp is installed vertically, the
lamp connection should be at the
top. Please make sure the device is
bled completely.

This modular system enables
custom installation of multiple spotlights with desired cable lengths on
just one transformer, which significantly reduces the number of

Which transformer do I need?
Simply add together the number of watts of all the devices selected.
The transformer must not be too small but also not too large.
For example, at a total of 56 watts, the 70 VA transformer must be used;
at 73 watts the 105 VA transformer is appropriate – very simple!

the Clean&Easy 1200 to generate
a suction output of up to 8.000 l/h,

The suction turbine generating this
power is quiet, adjustable, and
operates with great energy efficiency. Generating a suction power
of up to 240 mbar, the suction
turbine is sure to aspirate leaves
and sediments that have settled up
to 2.5 metres deep inside the pond.
Operating in continuous mode, the
turbine sucks pond sludge and dirt
into the housing, while a separate
waste water pump transports the
waste water further into the 10 m
drain hose. Larger portions such as
leaves are separated in a dirt
catching back inside the housing,
while finer particles with a diameter
of less than 5 mm are pumped

This accessory for underwater
floodlights is equipped with
a brass / stainless steel ball
bearing and four coloured
segments.
The G ½˝ alternating colour
illumination is equipped with
plastic piping. The G 1˝ version
features brass piping.
Both versions are supplied with
pump and jet adapters.
For infinitely variable adjusting
fountain heights and flow
volumes. Pumps are easily
regulated by means of a turning
knob on the speed governor.
By reducing the power input of
the pump the energy consumption cuts down, too. The unit is
simply plugged in between the
socket and the pump.
The turning knob can also
be used to turn off the pump.
Perfectly suitable for fine adjustment of flow volumes when
using filter systems.
HINT:
Better give preference to a
larger pump and reduce the
flow rate either by means of
a speed governor or a height
adjuster.

Attention must be paid to the effective
flow rate when selecting the pump:
in other words,the amount of water
that still arrives at the beginning of
the waterfall. This must be calculated
on the basis of the maximum pump
delivery, the height difference between
the water level and the outlet, the hose
length and the hose diameter.
This table lists the flow rates volumes
in liter per minute (l/m). The highlighted
figures indicate the values at which
hose length, hose diameter and
delivery volume match best.
