I hope you are all enjoying your summer. I would really like to take a
minute to be sure that you ALL are aware that The Levy Center is here,
“Working for You”……..RIGHT NOW!!
Firstly, there are many scams going on out there and it is important
that you know we are here for you. If you receive a phone call or a piece
of mail informing you that you owe some exuberant amount of money
for one thing or another, DON’T RESPOND! These scam artists
prey especially on Seniors. Whenever you are not absolutely sure
about something, I urge you to call the Levy Center for direction.
Also, I want you to be aware that we can help you with your Medicare and Medicaid application
forms. We can assist you with a BEAM application if you qualify. Free/Reduced Bus Passes are
also available at the Center. We have regular visits from the Bolingbrook Police Dept. here on the
1st Tuesday to answer any questions you might have. You can also bring your expired medication
here to be disposed of.
Regular Speakers are at the Center on Tuesdays to educate Seniors
on topics such as Home Healthcare, Estate Planning, Assisted Living
Housing, long-term care, etc.
I encourage ALL of you to take advantage of the many free services
available to you.
What a GREAT time we had at the Village Picnic this year, as well as
Family Fun Fest! I hope you all enjoyed the barbeque this year. I
know I did!
Here are some photos for you to enjoy!
Until next time, enjoy your summer!!

NOTES FROM THE ASSESSOR
It’s been nice seeing those of you who have come into our office with your senior
freeze forms! It’s always our favorite time of the year because we get to visit with
you, even if it’s only for a few minutes! It’s not too late to turn in your Senior Freeze
forms! We can still help you in our office with that.
The second installment of 2015 taxes is due on September 1, 2016.
After much research, this office has finally put the finishing touches on this year’s
assessment changes and sent them down to the county. You will receive a notice
from Will County if we increased your assessment. Changes will be published in the
Naperville Sun on August 3, 2016. If your assessment is unchanged, you will not
receive a written notice.
Sale prices are increasing in the township so most homes are seeing an increase
in their values. These changes or non-changes are for the tax bill you will receive
next April in 2017.
If you are receiving the Senior Freeze exemption then any increase in your
assessment won’t affect you because your assessment is frozen at your base
year. The whole assessment and tax process is very complicated. If you have any
additional questions about your assessments, please call me at (630) 759-1315
Remind your friends that are turning 65 to sign up for their senior exemption! They
can sign up anytime during the year they turn 65, they don’t have to wait until their
birthday!
Enjoy the rest of your summer! Hope to see you at the Bolingbrook Jubilee!

KINKY BOOTS AND LUNCH ON YOUR OWN
WHERE: ORIENTAL THEATRE WHEN: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31
TIME: 10:30 AM FEE: $95 LIMIT: 25
For 25 years, JC’s Ristorante & Pub has brought a touch of Italy to Chicagoland with its legendary pasta
dishes dressed in a homemade meat or marinara sauce that was born in Nonna’s kitchen. For the meat
lover, savory dishes from prime rib to char-crusted steaks, lamb shanks, pork chops, veal and BBQ ribs
are cooked to perfection. Seafood your thing? Fresh fish dishes are served daily from a succulent stuffed salmon to its infamous
whitefish Monaco. Grilled white fish is served over a bed of sautéed spinach with artichoke hearts and feta cheese in a white-wine
lemon garlic sauce. J.C.’s serves great sandwiches, and its homemade pizza is sure to satisfy any pizza lover. Homemade desserts, too.
Based on a true story and the indie film of the same name, Kinky Boots follows young Brit Charlie Price, who abandons his family’s
shoe factory to live with his demanding girlfriend in London. After the unexpected death of his father, Charlie returns to the struggling
factory and finds it’s up to him to figure out a way to keep the business alive. Enter Lola, a fabulous drag queen, who gives Charlie
the idea to create ladies’ shoes for men. Soon, the factory is turning out “kinky boots” under the supervision of Charlie and Lola,
but can this harebrained scheme actually work? And can these two extremely different men find a common ground and become
real friends?

DINNER & A MOVIE
WHEN: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
TIME: 5:30 PM
FEE: $7
LIMIT: 100
Well it’s that time again! Fall is here and it’s time for our Dinner and a Movie. Our meal will begin with a
tossed salad and a roll, followed by everybody’s favorite, home-made meatloaf and mashed potatoes and a
vegetable, followed by dessert.
The movie selection will be “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2”. I saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 last night and was apprehensive about
going but so glad I went! It was a great silly date/family movie that I really think out-did the original and was a great reminder that
sequels can revive the energy and feeling of the first film without relying on the same jokes, and storyline. It had plenty of great callbacks to the original and any fan of that film or anyone with, or who knows, a loud big family will be smiling ear to ear and can plan
on laughing away. The film was more or less what you would expect with almost all of the original characters making reprisals and
the time didn’t degenerate their characters or the absurdity of their actions but like a fine wine they matured with time. I laughed
out loud many times and the theater actually erupted in applause when it ended, which is very rare with silly comedies like this, and
my only disappointment was that it finished almost too soon. I wanted to spend more time with the characters, but it didn’t drag on,
wasn’t unnecessarily absurd and kept the tone and fun that the original film had. If you are looking for a feel-good film and a nice
escape from our hectic wild world this movie will definitely please.

WHEN: SEPTEMBER 28TH THROUGH 30TH
TIME: 1:00 PM
FEE: $229
LIMIT: 50
Well I have finally found the perfect combination of a 2-night, 3 day trip to both the Casino AND Shipshewana! We will leave for the
Casino and arrive approximately 3:30. We will check in our rooms and then you are off to do as you please. The night is yours!! Upon
arrival you will be awarded $50 in slot fee and $20 in food vouchers. You can spend the vouchers wherever you want.
The second day, after breakfast, we will leave at 9:00 AM to travel about 1 hour to Shipshewana, where you will have a full day of
shopping at the Flea Market. I’m hoping since it is the end of the season, we will find great deals!
We will leave the Flea Market at 4:00 pm and go about 2 miles down to the “Hoosier Banquets” for an old fashioned Amish experience!
Mrs. Linda Miller will be our hostess and she is very anxious to accommodate us. She will be dishing up a salad with homemade rolls,
mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, green beans, fried chicken and meatloaf, topped off with ice cream and pie. What more can you
ask for?! This dinner is included in your price.
After dinner we are on our way back to the Casino to do as you wish. We will spend the night and will need to check out by 11:00 am,
but will stay until 2:00 pm.
