Section 2 – Doing Homework
1) Once you have logged in, your
child’s personal homepage will be
visible.
Here you can see:
- Any new homework tasks
- Any overdue homework tasks
(marked in red)
- Your child’s previous results
- Your child’s level progress.
All of the above will be monitored by
the class teacher. It is only necessary
for you to assist with your child
accessing set homework. The other
options are extras if you want to
explore them.
2) Each piece of work set on MyMaths
will have two options:
- An online lesson (to refresh the topic)
- An online homework which needs
completing in order to achieve a
‘finished’ status on a task.
Loading up the lesson will open a new
tab and walk your child through the
topic. It will possibly ask for interaction
throughout this lesson. These are really
useful for revisiting topics students are
unsure of. Clicking through this
however does not count as completing
the homework. They are also useful if
you wish to help your child with the
work.
Once the lesson has been viewed you
need to go back to the pupil’s
homepage and load up the ‘online
homework’.

3) Completing a homework task –
There have been some issues with this
in the past. Once you have launched
the homework task you will have a
slightly different view, like the one
opposite. Please note there are two
questions. Your child should complete
these in turn following these steps:
1) Answer the questions (paper may be
needed to help work out solutions)
2) Fill in answers in boxes provided
(sometimes, browsers have issues
loading answers into these, if this
happens click in the box and press
‘delete’ to clear the box)
3) Once all the visible boxes have been
filled with an answer hit ‘Mark it’. This
will mark the question your child is on.
4) Click on Q2 to load the next
question.
Once you have clicked ‘Markit’ on Q2 it
will say ‘saving scores’ for a few
seconds and then display a message
reading “click Checkout to see a
summary of your scores”.
At this point you should click on
Checkout (to see a summary of your
scores).
This will load the final summary of how
the exercise has gone (see bottom
image for an example)
This is an example of a ‘summary’ page
that will show when you press
‘Checkout’ at the end of a homework.

Once the summary page has been seen
you can close this tab on your browser
and return to the pupil homepage.
If the newly completed homework still
shows, you can refresh this screen and
it should disappear.
Previous results can be viewed in the
‘My Results’ section and homework
can be reloaded and attempted again
from here (if scores are showing a red
or amber face it may show a lack of
understanding and should be
reattempted – if green they show a
clear understanding)
Section 3 – Revision
MyMaths can also be used as an
essential revision tool in the build up to
assessments. Due to pupil’s individual
needs it is sometimes impossible for a
teacher to set relevant tasks for each
child during these revision periods.
Pupils can use the search bar
(highlighted opposite) to seek out tasks
to complete in the same way as above.
Sometimes revision topics (from lists
provided by class teachers) may need
to be broken down to a key word to
find a relevant task. (E.g. if the revision
list reads “be able to calculate
percentages of amounts using decimal
multipliers” you may want to simply
search “percentages” and select a
relevant task from the results
generated.
If revising for an end of year exam, the
Booster packs (accessed via the button
highlighted opposite) provide larger
homework tasks and lessons to work
through but cover wider mathematical
concepts. They are also split up into
level-relevant chunks to target more
specific revision (e.g. if your child’s
target level is 6 they can complete the
‘six boosters’ or a target of a grade C,

complete the D’s to C’s booster pack)
Section 1 – Logging On
1) Go to mymaths.co.uk
You can do this by typing ‘MyMaths’
into the search engine but be careful to
select the .CO.UK version (your child’s
log-in will not work on the Australian
or US versions). The fail safe way of
getting to the correct MyMaths site is
to type the whole URL:
www.mymaths.co.uk
into the address bar.
2) The first level log-in details must be
entered in the top right of the
homepage. Our current** details are
as follows:
Username: Kimberley
Password: rectangle
**the password does have to be
changed for security reasons every
now and then so this is subject to
change. Any change will be amended
on the detailed page (19) in your
child’s planner by their class room
teacher.

3) Once you have entered the first
level log-in details, hit ‘go’ (see image
above). This will bring up a new screen
with a new log-in section labelled ‘My
Portal’
Here you need to enter your child’s
personal log in details. These follow
the pattern:
username: 3/4 digit number
password: 3 letters
and should be recorded in school
planners (page 19).
