SPIRITUALITY
Page 2
We began our harvest of the fruit of the spirit last month in the Campus Informer. Let’s
continue this month.
HARVEST KINDNESS… It is important to be kind to the poor; they feel so alone. It is
important to be kind to the rich; they feel so afraid. It is even important to be kind to those
who are not kind in return; because God has been kind to us in our poverty, even in our
wealth and in our unkindness.
HARVEST GOODNESS... It is important to remember that before we can accuse another we
have to confess. Our confession might cause us to realize that the forgiveness we receive is
so much more valuable than the wrong done to us.
HARVEST FAITHFULNESS…Today, keep your promises. Do not be in a position where
someone would question your word. Likewise let no one be able to question your love or
their trust in you.
HARVEST GENTLENESS…Remember that we do not win by force; we win by choosing to be
gentle. We harness the vast strength…so, if I raise my voice let it be in praise; if I clinch my
fist let it be in prayer; if I make a strong demand let it be to myself.
HARVEST SELF-CONTROL…Today make a choice; be totally drunk…with joy; be totally
impassioned with faith; be totally influenced only with the presence of God.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Place
all of these in your harvest basket and REST in the Lord each and every day.

Birthday Update and Independent Living Birthday Dinner
When you receive your invitation to the birthday dinner, please sign up on the sheet at
the Towers Desk. If you bring a guest, please sign their name also, and mark their
name as “guest.” The dinner is the second Wednesday of the month. Please register the
week before the dinner so the committee knows how many dinners to order and tables
to set up. We are unable to accommodate those who have not made reservations.
If you have questions or need to cancel, please call Leigh Ismael at x2048.
** Due to HIPPA updates, the monthly Birthdays and Anniversaries will no longer
be printed in the Campus Informer. They will be available to be viewed on
Morning Announcements and Touch Town.**
Recycling Update
At the July Resident Council meeting, someone asked how do you dispose of the new
curlicue light bulbs? Since these light bulbs contain a gas, they can not be recycled
and they should not be put in with trash. Our Maintenance Department has agreed to
dispose of them properly. Either take these light bulbs to Joe Hurley in the ground floor
maintenance office or put them in any of the recycle barrels and we will give them to
maintenance. ~ Lew Chizer, Recycling Chairman
A friendly reminder that there are two paper shredders available for resident use in the
computer lab located on the first floor near the salon. One shredder you can turn on and
shred the paper manually. The other shredder is a large box that you can drop your
papers into and once the box is full the company will come out and shred all the paper
in a large truck before leaving the campus.

Alexander Hamilton, our first Secretary of
the Treasury Department under President
George Washington, is an exciting
personality of our early history! He was a
noble soldier, a leader of the artillery units
and of course, served in our first Cabinet.
What a sad story to see him perish at so
young an age, when he
should have had years of
more political power! A
duel will finish him off and
who was he dueling with?
None other than the Vice
President of the United
States – Aaron Burr!
