Colorplak is the stylish alternative to
conventional picture framing for photos,
posters, and graphics. Available in six styles
and dozens of color options, it’s perfect for
any décor. It’s an economical alternative to
conventional framing.
In the Colorplak process, your image is dry
mounted onto Medium Density Fiberboard
Colorlite
The slim 3/8" look of Colorlite
is perfect for an understated,
professional look. Great for
photos, smaller posters,
diplomas, and graphics.
(MDF) and then permanently sealed with a
protective matte finish vinyl lamination that
filters out 80% of UV light (to help your image
resist fading). The plaque is then finished with
a beveled edge in your choice of over 30
colors. The final result is a non–glare, easy to
clean, professional product that is ready to
hang and enjoy.
Colorfloat
For an “off the wall” dramatic
presentation, choose Colorfloat.
A recessed 3/4" box frame lifts
your image away from the wall.
Great for small or large images
(up to 4 x 8 feet).
Colorbox
Your images really stand out
with the 1" thick Colorbox.
A 1/4" board is combined with
a 3/4" frame, and finished
with a 1/8" bevel for a bold,

your images. What’s more, we can mount and laminate your
images, or print them on stretched canvas (Giclée). We can add

combines a 1/4" plaque with a
larger 3/8" base plaque,
creating a 2" border around
your image. The base plaque

Classic plaque gives your
image an elegant touch
without a distracting frame.
Great for fine art reproductions

Your image is printed on
premium-quality canvas, then
wrapped onto your choice of
frame thickness, from 5/8" to 3,"

Gicleé Printing
Colorplak offers printing on canvas (Gicleé)
and photofinishing services, using the same
professional-quality equipment we use to
create Colorplak products. We work with
digital files, or scan your originals and
perform any required retouching and/or
color correction. Gicleé printing is ideal for
art and portrait photography, and limited-edition fine art reproductions. Gicleé
canvases are typically gallery wrapped, covering the sides of the stretcher with
canvas, which can be an extension of the image, a solid color, or a pattern. For more

Dry mounting on 1/4" board
Dry Mounting and Laminating
Your artwork can be dry mounted with or without lamination on 1/4" board, or other
substrates upon request. Board sizes up to 48" x 120" are available. The mounted
art can be displayed as-is, or combined with a conventional picture frame. Dry
mounted products can be combined with conventional frames for a unique look.
Since no glass is involved, they’re perfect for high-traffic locations, such as offices
and restaurants.

Retouching
Colorplak’s experienced technicians can retouch your images, whether it’s cleaning
up a worn heirloom portrait or color-correcting a faded photograph. We work only
on digital images, so your hard-copy original is not altered.
Collages
Combining several images in a collage opens up a world of creative possibilities.
Colorplak will be happy to take your originals and combine them digitally into a
dramatic new composition.
Custom Borders
Custom border patterns can further enhance your images. They can be applied to
the plaque surface, much like matting is added to a framed picture, or even to the
edges of our Canvas products. Custom borders are available on any image printed
by Colorplak.

The Colorplak Process in Detail
Colorplak has spent over ten years perfecting long-lasting lamination technology that
preserves your photos and art images, while allowing all the detail of the original to shine
through. The result is a mounting system that is unexcelled for quality and value.
Step One: Mounting
Your image is mounted on high
quality Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) using archival-quality an

acid-free dry mounting adhesive.

Step Two: Joining
A heated hydraulic press, exerting
150,000 pounds of pressure, permanently joins the the image to
the MDF board.
Step Three: Laminating
The mounted image is laminated
with a specially chosen vinyl coating which is engineered to reduce
harmful UV radiation, preventing the image from yellowing or
fading. This laminate has a matte finish, eliminating glare. Other

laminate finishes are also available.

Step Four: Edge Finishing
A beveled edge is created, and
sealed with a film in your choice of colors.
Step Five: Hanging A security mounting channel is routed into
the back of the MDF board to fit over the included coarse-thread screw.
Maintaining your Colorplak
Colorplak products are durable, and easy to clean. Use any
household or glass cleaner and paper towels to thoroughly clean
the viewing surface. Avoid solvents that dissolve vinyl, such as
lacquer thinner. Colorplak products are designed to withstand
high humidity (so they’re perfect for bathrooms and kitchens), but
avoid prolonged water contact with the back side of the MDF.
Original Artwork
The Colorplak process is permanent. We do not recommend
Colorplak for original artwork, limited edition prints, or delicate
or irreplaceable originals. We can scan or photograph your original
(if copyrights are granted) in a form that can be Colorplaked.
Heat-sensitive originals, especially color copies, will require
special handling.
