Pontiac GTO Transformation
This amazing 1970 Pontiac GTO transformation was the
vision of Dave Francesca of West Perth Panel and Paint. Dave
acquired this beast as an unlicensed drag car back in 2010 and
systematically set out to transform it into the ultimate American
muscle car.
Over a four year period, Dave painstakingly transformed his
vision into a reality, turning this classic 70's drag car, into the
blacked out, street cruising beast that it is today.
Starting under the hood, extensive upgrades were made to the
engine, transmission and diff. The Pontiac is powered by a Chev
454 Big Block which produces 550hp and 600+Nm of torque.
In addition to this, Dave fitted a Turbo 400 transmission and 9"
Detroit Locker diff with a 355 ratio.
With the drivetrain upgraded and in place, it was time to get
the car where he wanted it to be aesthetically which required a
complete cosmetic overhaul. First and foremost was the interior
which was stripped and finished in black to go with the overall
theme.
The entire car was then stripped and re-painted in an amazing
iridescent black. To complete the stealthy look, Dave finished
off the transformation with custom black billet wheels.
The result of the effort that was put in over the four
year transformation period is nothing short of amazing.
Congratulations to Dave and the team at West Perth Panel and
Paint on an amazing ride.

Future Rides
Lit Motors C-1
Imagine a vehicle that’s smaller than a Smart Car, nearly half the
price, safer than a motorcycle with a range capacity that just lets
you drive and won’t ever tip over? What you get is Lit Motors‘ C-1,
the world’s first gyroscopically stabilized, two-wheeled all-electric
vehicle.
The C-1 has been designed, machined, and built by hand from
the ground up in San Francisco. Lit Motors have not only created
something unique based on proprietary technology, but have also
put together a package that appeals to the masses.
The overall vision is to introduce the C-1 to the global market
resulting in easing traffic congestion, decreasing fuel consumption,
reducing CO2 emissions and creating 2,000 to 10,000 green jobs.
The initial price for the C-1 is around $24,000 and the statistics are
quite impressive for such a compact vehicle. The C-1 accelerates
from 0-100 KPH in six seconds and reaches a top speed of over 160
KPH. It has an estimated range of up to 320 kilometres per charge.
Without the cost of petrol, it would cost you less than $1 to go
upwards of 320 kilometres.
The extended range of the C-1 is also assisted by a KERS regenerative
braking system, which uses flywheels to store energy kinetically.
These flywheels are also part of the unique gyroscopic stabilization
system which keeps the vehicle upright in all situations – even a
collision – while allowing the control system to dictate the tilt and
lean of the vehicle at all times. In other words, as the gyros spin,
downforce is created to keep the vehicle stable and level.
Not only will the C-1 and future versions never tip over, but they’ll also
be packed with every amenity you can find in other vehicles today.
What’s even cooler is that you can program certain manoeuvres
or start the vehicle from your smartphone and then initiate said
manoeuvre (like a u-turn) by tapping on the steering wheel. You can
even suggest things to the vehicle like “It’s kinda cold in here,” and
the C-1 will increase the heat. Your music and social media networks
can also be integrated.
With a car-like interface coupled with the freedom and size of a
motorcycle, this two-wheeler is looking to break the mould of vehicle
platforms for generations to come.
