MOTORSPORT ELITE TECHNICAL TRAINING SCHOOL YEAR 2016-2017 MONLAU REPSOL TECHNICAL SCHOOL Emilio Alzamora CEO of Monlau Repsol Technical School Iban Ventura Managing Director of the Monlau Group Jaime Serrano Managing Director of Monlau Repsol Technical School Monlau Repsol Technical School, led by former 125cc World Champion Emilio Alzamora with Managing Director Jaime Serrano, was born in 1998 covered by the support of Monlau school group with over 25 years of experience in the field of teaching. We are the pioneer school in Spain of motorsport technical training. Currently, we have about 300 students in our classrooms divided between technical mechanics courses of racing cars and motorbikes as well as the Motorsport Engineering Master. Technical courses in race mechanics are held in an exclusive building of 2.300m2 distributed in three floors and equipped specifically for curriculum, located in Calle Potosí nº 38, Barcelona. After 17 years of experience in the field of technical teaching of motor racing and motorcycle, in 2010 we launched the first Motorsport Engineering Master with a brilliant staff of qualified teachers, specialized in the different Master modules’ and being active in national and international major championships. Thus, Monlau Repsol Technical School is positioned as the leading training school for car and motorcycle competition race technicians and engineers in our teaching pyramid encompassing all motorsport players. Monlau Repsol Technical School has its own racing competition department in order to develop our motorsport projects concurrently to the teaching activities of the school. This allows teachers, technicians and engineers to maintain them active and updated in all new technical and sporting developments and also it allows the students to practice in current first level race competitions or prior tests. Students are fully involved in school activities, being taught both in theory and in practice, preparing the most for their professional future. Every race season we are glad to meet with students who we saw for the first time in our classrooms, as genuine race mechanics and engineers in the paddocks of the circuits of the numerous car and motorcycle championships. No other feeling can beat this satisfaction that we have as a teaching center. MAIN GOAL The main goal of Monlau Repsol Technical School is to provide the opportunity to young students of technical mechanics of racing competition to be trained as true specialists in race car and motorcycle mechanics in all its specialties according to the methods, criteria and needs of professional teams and specialized companies acting in the motorsport directly (championships) or indirectly (industry). At the end of two or three school years, the student will have all the knowledge to choose their professional specialization as a skilled mechanic in car racing or motorcycling racing. REPSOL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS Repsol’s commitment to society promotes collaboration in initiatives such as the Monlau Competition Project, framed within the Repsol’s training and job creation among young people. The project of the Monlau Repsol School undoubtedly contributes to care for and foster talent in a field linked to Repsol since ever: the engine. We believe that our knowledge and experience, Repsol and Monlau, will be the machine for develope these young students, in a suitable and competent environment, and will ensure the best training and success for future professionals of motorsport. REPSOL SCHOLARSHIPS Thanks to the School Monlau Repsol, the students will benefit from scholarships that will cover half the cost of tuition. With this Alliance we will support the best race mechanics so they can develop their professional career and complete their training with real practice in the racing competitions’ world. Scholarships for motorsport mechanics students: • • 15 scholarships for students of mechanical car racing competition, proving best record at the end of the course, equivalent to 50% of the cost only and exclusively the last course. 15 scholarships for students of mechanical motorcycling competition, proving best record at the end of the course, equivalent to 50% of the cost only and exclusively the last course. ENGINE TECHNOLOGY The subject aims to study all physical phenomena of the engine to achieve that the student can finally make a correct tuning and optimizing of the engines. CHASSIS TECHNOLOGY The aim of this area is to introduce students to different types of chassis used in the different categories of racing competition. In addition, it is complemented by the study of the different transmission, gearboxes, suspension systems, braking systems. APPLIED ELECTRICTY AREA The aim of this area is to introduce students to the various electrical systems. In addition, it is complemented by the study of different types of electrical installations, as well as the management of data acquisition system. MECHANICS WORKSHOP AREA The aim of this area is to train students with method, organization, efficiency, speed and cleanliness. This subject puts into practice the theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom using race bikes as an educational support as well as structuring the required elements of teamwork. COMPUTING AREA The aim of this area is to introduce students to the use of different types of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and Pro Engineer. We perform it in a computer room offering a single computer per student with its respective licenses. MACHINING AREA The aim of this subject is to train students to perform specific tasks such as turning and milling and welding. This subject has a great added value for a motorsport mechanic. SPORTS SYSTHESIS AND TECHNICAL AREA The aim of this area is to introduce students to the technical and sporting regulations of the different championships and the management of resources and means, logistics and racing teams responsibilities. ADDITIONAL CONTENT Throughout the different school courses taught in the different specialties, lectures by prestigious professionals linked to the school curriculum are organized. Similarly, technical visits are organized in numerous companies of the racing sector. During the courses conducted to date and in the future, with the goal of completing a full training, Monlau Repsol offers students the possibility of internships in professional race teams in all disciplines of motorcycling, as the World Championship Motorcycling, the FIM Junior World Championship CEV Repsol, Spain Championship speed -RFME- as well as other important disciplines such as the Enduro, MotoCross, Trial, and Supermotard, in their respective national championships. To date, Monlau Repsol has been privileged to have the presence of great riders such as Marc Márquez, Toni Elias, Marc Coma, Alex Márquez, Alex Rins, Jorge Navarro, among others. SCHOOL OF MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN RACE MOTORBIKES COURSE DURATION AND TIMETABLE SCHEDULE: Morning shift: from 9:00h. to 13:30h. The total duration of the course is two years (from mid-September to mid-July) and takes place mainly in Monlau Repsol Technical School facilities. Afternoon shift: from 15:00h. to 19:30h. QUALIFICATIONS Technical specialist degree in High Competition Race Motorbikes Mechanic, approved by the Real Federación Motociclista Española. The course starts in mid-* September 2016 and will end in mid-July 2017. *dates pending to approve. HOW TO ACCESS “Registration 2016-2017 course,” annex explains the steps to access the school. PRICE PER YEAR: 5,753€ includes teaching, teaching materials, workshop materials, school activities, conferences Monlau Repsol, outside visits, clothing and school insurance. PAYMENT CONDITIONS a) Split into 11 installments of 523 € (from September to July inclusive) b) Making full payment of the course, will benefit from a 5% discount on the total price. Second year: the same tuition conditions, clothing, work material and fees for the first year of training plus the increase of the IPC respective. When applying, pay 200 € as preenrollment rights fee (1) ADMISSION PROCESS Once received the applicants request forms correctly completed, a date will be notified to the interested applicants for a selection test. This test is crucial to select potential students. After evaluating the results, under the selection criteria of Monlau Repsol, the results will be communicated to candidates by phone. REGISTRATION Those selected students, must formalize the enrollment providing the following documentation: • 2 ID photocopies. Student. • 1 ID photocopy. Parents or legal guardians. • 1 passport-size photograph. • 1 social security card photocopy. • Photocopy of the certificate or receipt of the last degree obtained. • Pay the remaining 498€ to complete the registration fee. (2) (1) The 200 € of the pre-enrollment rights fee will be returned only if the student is not admitted, for admitted students, this amount will be subtracted from the registration fee.
