We start the New Year with two goals: retaining our heritage and embracing change.
While these two themes may seem to be at odds with each other, they come together
to make Thorogood Shoes unique in the industry.

Our history dates back to 1892, a time when true craftsmanship mattered, and when
cobblers skillfully created the world’s finest footwear for American workers. Today our
two Wisconsin factories continue to employ skilled American craftsmen who are dedicated to making quality Thorogood footwear.
While the principles we were founded on remain, we’ve been busy investing in and modernizing the way we create footwear. Making
footwear is a very labor intensive process that takes many skilled hands to produce. Many of these steps cannot be automated, but
we are investing in our factories to convert them to a lean manufacturing system that makes the process much more efficient.
We have also invested in a state-of-the-art Desma sole injection machine. We are currently producing comfortable, lightweight,
durable footwear for the United States military on this machine. Soon we will release lines of commercial footwear that will bring
together our heritage and cutting edge technology to produce a level of comfort unheard of a few years ago.
Heritage and change. These words uniquely describe Thorogood Shoes. We look forward to partnering with you to achieve another

75 IMPACT
Class I/75 footwear retains a .500 inch (1/2 inch) for
men’s and .468 inch (15/32 inch) for women’s or greater
clearance after a nominal impact of 75 foot-pounds
(101.7J), i.e., a 50 pound weight dropped, reaching
117.9 ± 2.4 inches per second velocity at impact.
COMPRESSION: Class C/75 footwear retains a .500 inch
(1/2 inch) after compression of 2500 lbs. (11,121 N) or
greater. Meets ASTM F2413-11 M I/75/C/75 ratings.

SR SLIP-RESISTING
Footwear meets or exceeds the ASTM F2913-11 SATRA
Test Method TM144 (or Mark II) Standard for slip
resistance.
WATERPROOF WP
SYMPATEX®: Breathable, waterproof lining/barrier
capable of resisting blood-borne pathogens.
Thoro>Dri™: A waterproof breathable lining/membrane
with waterproof taped seams capable of resisting
blood-borne pathogens. Seam seal: Constructed with
waterproof upper materials that have all upper stitch
seams sealed with a waterproof adhesive.
PR PUNCTURE-RESISTING
Puncture-resisting through the sole and heel area at a
force load of 1200N (270 lbf) according to ASTM F 241311, Standard Test Method for Foot Protection. Unique
textile insole material is flexible and puncture-resisting.
BB BLOOD-BORNE PATHOGENS
SYMPATEX® and Thoro>Dri™ linings are blood-borne
pathogens penetration compliant, for at least one hour
when tested according to ASTM F 1671, Standard Test
Method for Resistance of Materials used in Protective
Clothing.
EH ELECTRIC HAZARD RESISTANT FOOTWEAR
Constructed or manufactured with electric shockresisting soles and heels capable of withstanding an
application of 18,000 volts (root mean square (RMS)
value) at 60 Hz for 1 minute with no current flow or
leakage current in excess of 1.0 milliamperes under dry
conditions. Meets ASTM F2413-11.
WF WILDLAND FIRE FIGHTING
Meets the requirements of NFPA 1977 Protective
Clothing and Equipment for Wildland Fire Fighting, 2011
