I like all the hikes I lead, or I wouldn’t volunteer to lead them! Pie hikes, soup hikes, adult beverage hikes – they’re all entry level hikes that draw people off their couches and onto the trail by providing a reward at the end. When did you start working with Venture Outdoors? I started assisting with Venture Outdoors hikes in 2008. The first one was a chocolate tasting hike at Riverview Park, where I worked with a great trip leader. I assisted for a while, learning from all the leaders I worked with, then moved up to leading hikes on my own. 10 Describe a funny or happy story from a Venture Outdoors trip. Something funny or happy happens on every Venture Outdoors trip. That’s what makes taking a Venture Outdoors hike fun! I see a lot of newer participants who are unsure of what they’ve gotten themselves into at the start of a hike.
