IV Fluid Warmer
The use of room temperature (70°F) IV fluids on patients either in shock or susceptible to hypothermia should be avoided. Ideally, IV fluids should be administered as close to body temperature as possible to all patients for better therapeutic results. The JorVet IV fluid warmer is placed over a short 8”
segment of a standard IV line, where it will safely warm passing fluids to 100°F. It should be placed
within 18” of the patient.

Bullpen IV Fluid Warmer Station
Administering IV fluids close to body temperature has become increasingly viewed as a valuable therapeutic modality. Veterinary patients, either small in size or in possible hypovolemic shock, benefit
greatly from receiving warm IV fluids (~100°F) versus room temperature (70°F) fluids. However, maintaining a ready supply of warmed fluids has been difficult. The JorVet Bullpen is an IV fluid warming
station that maintains unopened IV fluid bags at a ready to use temperature of 100°F. Up to 4 one-liter
bags of IV fluids can be warmed and kept ready to use.

Jorgensen Laboratories sponsored a bandaging lab University of California Davis with 50 3rd and 4th
year students and three area doctors: Dr. Bonnie Coyne, Dr. Cameron Collins and Dr. Marianne Brick.
This was a great night and it gave the students an opportunity to work with many different bandaging
materials. Lori Cardwell, JorVet area sale manager, was able to ad lib and talk about other types of
options in our catalog as well as things from the wet lab. Most of the students said they had never done
any bandaging. Students had the opportunity to work with several types of splints, casting, and just
wrapping. Dr. Brick is an exotic specialist who brought birds, turtles and lizards to use for practice.
Many of the students brought their own dogs. The dogs left with the bandages on, for the true test of
bandaging whether it stays on and is not too tight.

EZ Tie
Maintaining an endotracheal tube in the correct position is a critical component of anesthesia or surgery.
Any shift or displacement of an endotube during anesthesia can be life threatening. A common practice is to use a length of cotton gauze roll to first tie around the tube then around the animal’s muzzle.
Roll gauze can come untied or be difficult to quickly untie.
The EZ Tie was designed to be quick and easy to hold any endotracheal or anesthesia mask safely in
place. The thin but strong plastic tubing has 2 sliding clasps. These clasps readily move along the tubing but hold steady under tension.
The first clasp is used to tighten around the ET tube or mask. The second slides along to tighten around
the patient’s muzzle. It also works extremely well with challenging brachycephalic breeds such as pugs
and felines.
