The following holiday hours and credit union
closings are for the credit union lobby, drive-up,
and branch office:

this year’s community giving! The credit union is currently a drop off
location for the Salvation Army’s Coats for Kids Campaign as well as
the Stock the Shelves Campaign!

Exciting News To Share!
Subject to final approval from NCUA,
Marinette County Employees Credit
Union will merge their operations into
PCM Credit Union effective 1-1-2015.
MCECU currently has approximately 2,200
members and $15.5 million in assets, primarily
serving governmental employees, Marinette
Marine Corp., and their families. They are
financially very sound, with a 12% reserve
to asset ratio. Their current location of 1740
Stephenson Street in Marinette will become
PCMCU’s new branch office.
After initial discussions earlier in the year,
the Board of Directors from each credit union
unanimously voted to proceed with the merger.
MCECU’s members approved the plan on August
26th. Board Chair Karen Sylvester stated at this
meeting, “PCM Credit Union is definitely the
best option for our members. We both have the
same type of Select Employee Group charters
and their ‘People Caring More’ culture is what
we are all about too. This partnership builds on
the strengths of both our institutions providing
increased services and technology that all
members need and want.”

Regarding the merger, President Dan Wollin
stated,
“Unlike most large credit unions, this
merger will be the first in the history
of PCM Credit Union. Credit unions
have been consolidating for some
time and will continue to do so as
smaller credit unions struggle with
increased regulatory compliance and
competition. Bottom line, members of
both credit unions will be better off as
one credit union with 11,000 members
rather than two credit unions with
8,800 and 2,200 members. Our larger
size will provide improved efficiencies
that will benefit everyone.”
This is an exciting time for PCMCU members
and for the new family of members that will be
joining us in 2015.

be delivered just in time for the holiday
season! Monetary donations will also be
accepted!

At PCMCU, we take the recent card compromises very serious and we appreciate your
patience as we do our best to remedy these matters. We continue to work on new
technologies, including EMV Chip Technology, to help protect members card account
information.

at your request. Whether it is due to compromise concerns, or simply to have instant

SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
This year was yet again another successful year for
scholarships at PCMCU! PCMCU had over 25 applications
submitted and we would like to thank all who participated
in the program! This year, the credit union staff was
thankful to hear from the student members of how they
show leadership in their school, work, or community,
and how they plan to continue being a leader in their future. The students
continue to enrich us with their amazing involvement and understanding of the
scholarship program, and because of this, PCMCU is happy to announce that
next year we are going to award 3- $1,000 scholarships! We are so very proud
of all of our student members and wish them the best of luck in their studies as
the year continues!

At CMFG Life Insurance Company, we regularly evaluate our products to
ensure we are delivering value to the credit unions and members we serve.
Due to a significant decline in demand from credit unions and their members,
we have made the difficult decision to exit the Life Savings product currently
offered to you through PCM Credit Union. Life Savings was developed more
than 75 years ago and has been in a steady state of decline for the last several
years. Life Savings is structured as a monthly policy where premium paid only
covers the next month rather than building equity over time.
Per the terms of our contract, your group policy will expire on December 31,
2014. All claims incurred on or before January 31, 2015 will be honored.
We know many of you value the peace of mind and security that life insurance
provides. That’s why we wanted you to know you can convert your Life Savings
coverage to a guaranteed issue Primary Protection Plan, underwritten by
CMFG Life Insurance Company. This new policy would provide life insurance
coverage up to $3,000. If you decide to take advantage of the conversion
option, you must apply by January 31, 2015. You will be responsible for
premium payments, and your new policy will be effective after you complete
the application process. Your premiums will be based on your age at time of
application.
Conversion is simple. Just request, complete, and return an application with
your first premium payment directly to CMFG Life Insurance Company by
January 31, 2015, in order to receive coverage. To request the application, call
855.728.5205 to speak with a fully licensed insurance representative.
Our staff will review your situation with you and provide guidance to ensure
you have the right type and amount of insurance protection for you and your
family based on your current and future needs.
