the Holy Spirit the legal right and the legal means to do
all that He does.

THE WORKING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Most Believers do not understand how the Holy Spirit

QUESTION:
WHAT SHOULD BE THE CHRISTIAN’S POSITION IN
RESPECT TO ALCOHOL?
ANSWER:
“And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was
uncovered within his tent” (Gen. 9:21).
This is speaking of Noah.
The situation with Noah is the first mention of wine
in the Bible, or any type of intoxicating beverage for
that matter.
Some have claimed that the fermentation process
didn’t exist before the flood and that, consequently,
Noah was not familiar with the possible product of the
grape; however, there is no proof of such a thing and, in
fact, the Hebrew language indicates that the Patriarch
was familiar with what could be done with the grape
as it regards fermentation. As well, Moses does not say
this was the first occasion on which the Patriarch tasted
fermented liquor (Moses wrote Genesis).
Since the sin of Noah, and it was sin, cannot be
ascribed to ignorance, we can only ascribe it to the weakness of the human being.
Also, we find here that intoxication tends toward sensuality, inasmuch as Noah “uncovered himself.” Ellicott
says, “It was no accident, but a willful breach of modesty.”
Inasmuch as the first mention of intoxicating beverage in the Bible revealed such a shameful episode, we
cannot help but garner from this illustration as given
by the Holy Spirit through Moses concerning Noah, the

lesson that is being taught here.
• What should our stand be as a Christian, as it
regards alcohol?
• Is moderate drinking permissible?
• Is alcoholism a disease or a sin?
Due to the seriousness of this matter, I think it would
be proper for us to give it a little more thorough treatment.
ALCOHOL
Back in the 1980’s, the News Media seemed inordinately preoccupied with nuclear energy protestors, as if it
was their civic duty to convince the American public that
nuclear power was extremely dangerous. In view of this
constant media barrage against this particular industry,
which incidentally caused the stoppage of all construction of nuclear power plants, we are now experiencing
a severe power shortage.
In view of this, I would like to focus on another subject of even more consequence — and I’d like to use the
Media’s rhetoric regarding nuclear power plants, as they
then claimed such to be:
• What if 40-50 people were killed every day by
malfunctioning nuclear power plants?
• What if such malfunction seriously injured 1,500
more every day?
• What if the presence and influence of nuclear plants caused 8-20 people per day to
commit suicide?
• What if the secondary effects of nuclear power
caused 200 broken homes each day?
• What if it caused 250 people each day to suffer
permanent brain damage — besides the injuries
already described?
• What if it caused some 3,000 parents to abuse
their children, or to assault loved ones each day?
• What if it caused 50 billion dollars a year in direct

damages, and an inestimable amount in indirect damages every year?
Awesome and disturbing statistics? Well, if you will “double” every figure I
have just cited, you will have a fragmented picture of the effects of alcohol on
American society today. In view of the fact that after decades of use, there hasn’t
been a single case of a person in the public sector being injured by nuclear
power plants, one would have to question why the Media remains silent on
alcohol’s effects, while carrying on a scathing campaign against other things.
I can’t answer that, but we can probe the reason behind the Media’s silence on
the alcohol question. But first, remember this.
Alcohol is responsible for:

50 percent of all automobile fatalities.
80 percent of all home violence.
30 percent of all suicides.
60 percent of all child abuse.
THE PRICELESS CORNER
We have set aside this corner of the Evangelist to
show God’s Plan of Salvation. If you are unsure where
you will go when you die, please listen to what God has
said in His Word:
First . . . God loves you!
“For God so loved the world that he gave His only
Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should
not perish, but have Everlasting Life” (Jn. 3:16).
Second . . . Man is a sinner, and sin has separated him from God!
WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF ALCOHOLISM?
According to statistics, there are about 20 million alcoholics in this nation,
a figure which is equivalent to two out of every five heavy drinkers. Actually, I
find it hard to see the difference between the alcoholic and the heavy drinker.
Think about it:
For every ten automobiles on the road, one is driven by a drunk. It’s no
wonder that 40,000 people a year are killed because of alcoholics behind the
wheel. In addition, over one million are injured — some never to function
normally again.
Incidentally, it is a scientific fact that if it takes ten beers to make a person
drunk, one beer makes them one tenth drunk. That means, according to the
amount of alcohol consumed, whether little or much, that a person is not in
full control of his faculties. That’s the reason for the accidents. Accidents?
SICKNESS OR SIN?
“For there is not a just man upon Earth, that doeth
good and sinneth not” (Eccl. 7:20).
“For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of
God” (Rom. 3:23).
Third . . . Jesus Christ is the only remedy for
sin!
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just
for the unjust, that He might bring us to God . . .” (I Pet.
3:18).
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there
is none other name under Heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Fourth . . . you must receive Jesus Christ as
your personal lord and saviour.
Jesus calls this experience the “new birth.” He told
Nicodemus: “. . . Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the Kingdom of God” (Jn. 3:3).
We invite you now to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as
your personal Saviour. “But as many as received Him, to
them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to
them that believe on His Name” (Jn. 1:12).
I picked up an article some time back written by a Minister. Unfortunately,
his name wasn’t credited, so I have no way of acknowledging him for his statement. What he said was excellent, however, and I want to share it with you.
He asked the question, “What is wrong with the drunkard?” And then went on to
say this:
“Years ago, while holding a city-wide Meeting in Salinas, California, I was attracted through an article in the daily paper, to a Convention to be held in a Northern
California town. Psychiatrists from all over America were coming out to the coast
for this Convention.
“The object of the Convention was the thing that attracted me. They announced
as their project . . . the discovery of what causes alcoholism, and then to suggest a
cure. Here is the sum of the findings of this body.
“They stated that an alcoholic is not a moral degenerate, but a sick man. He

for personal Salvation. (Jn. 3:5-8; Titus 3:5)
. . . the Redemptive Work of Christ on the Cross provides
Healing of the human body in answer to believing
prayer. (Ex. 15:25-26; James 5:14-15; I Pet. 2:24)
. . . the Baptism with the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4
is given to Believers who ask for it. (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46;
19:1-7)
. . . in the Sanctifying Power of the Holy Spirit by Whose
indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
(Rom. 6:3-14; 8:1-2, 11)
. . . in the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the
one to Everlasting Life and the other to everlasting
damnation. (Rev. 20:5-6, 11-15)
Pray this prayer and mean it with all of your heart:
Dear Lord Jesus, I now realize that I am a sinner. I
accept the fact that You died for me on the rugged Cross
of Calvary. I now open my heart’s door and receive You
as Saviour and Lord of my life. Please take full control of
me and help me to be the kind of Christian You want me
to be. Amen.

can’t help being sick anymore than an asthmatic or arthritic.

“He should not be picked up in a police car and thrown
in jail, but should be picked up in an ambulance and put in
a hospital. He shouldn’t be treated as a moral degenerate,
but a respected member of society who is sick.
“That was the trend of thought all through the deliberation, and not once during the Convention was whisky mentioned. The closest to it was the word ‘alcoholism.’ They never
said if a man simply didn’t drink, he would have no problem.
No such ugly insinuations were made.
“The final session was the clincher. Headlines in the San
Francisco paper stated: ‘Psychiatrists decide,’ then, in smaller
print, ‘alcoholism is caused by an unknown quantity that we
shall choose to call “X” . . . until this unknown quantity can
be isolated and defined, we have no suggested cure.’”
The Minister went on to state, “I would hate to be an
alcoholic depending on psychiatrists to help me!”
I can only say “Amen” to that.
I am not a psychiatrist, but I know what makes men
and women alcoholics. I’m certain it is not, as one
alcoholic figured it: he railed against God for having
done this to him. He shook his fist at his genes, at
his heredity, at his father. He felt he had been programmed before birth to be a victim of alcohol.
No, the problem isn’t a sickness, and it’s not in the
genes. It’s not heredity, and it’s certainly not God. The
problem is “sin” — which results in an even more frightening word — bondage.
TODAY THE BIG EXCUSE FOR ALMOST
EVERYTHING IS “SICKNESS”
Today, everyone is sick: the alcoholic, the thief, the
child molester, the rapist, and the murderer. As one
august Supreme Court Justice said some time ago, “Everybody ought to be turned out of prison, because the prisoners
are not really guilty; it’s all of society that’s responsible.” This
statement might be humorous if it weren’t so “stupid.”
You see, the Bible says that men are liars, thieves,
drunkards, immoral — and all the other things mankind
is inevitably prey to — simply because they are sinners.
They have turned their backs on God. Man is a product
of the Fall. His Salvation lies not in treatment of a “sickness,” but in treatment of his sin — and Jesus took care
of this at Calvary. Until men accept this treatment, they
will not be cured. And, in fact, treatment is not really the
correct word that should be used, but rather “deliverance.”
Our Lord said concerning this: “The Spirit of the Lord is

upon Me, because He has anointed Me . . . to preach Deliverance to the captives” (Lk. 4:18).
When Jesus died on Calvary’s Cross, He addressed
every sin, every bondage, every perversion, and every
aberration that may attach itself to mankind, and did so
by the giving of Himself as a Perfect Sacrifice, which was
accepted by God. When the believing sinner places his
Faith in Christ and what Christ did for us at the Cross,
the Holy Spirit will then help such a person, Who, to be
sure, has the Power, and because He is God. In fact, this
is the only cure, the Deliverance afforded by Christ.
THE GREAT PROBLEM
But the problem is people want to escape the bondage of alcohol, without accepting Christ. I’m sorry, but
there is no other answer to the ills of man. It is Jesus
Christ and what He did for us at the Cross, and that is
the only answer.
At least one of the reasons that the world of psychology labels alcoholism as a disease is the effort to escape
responsibility. One of Satan’s favorite ploys is to make
someone else responsible!
But what does the Bible say?
It says, “All have sinned and come short of the Glory of
God.” Of course, man doesn’t want to hear that. He
doesn’t want to admit he’s a sinner and that he’s lost.
Most of all, he doesn’t want to admit that unless he comes
to God he will remain eternally lost. So we give it a new
name. We call it a disease or a sickness. Well, listen to
this. If it’s a disease, it is the only disease . . .

That is contracted by an act of the will.
That requires a license for distribution.
That is bottled and sold.
That requires outlets for its sale.
That produces revenue for the Government.
That promotes crime.
That is habit-forming.
That is spread by advertising. (Can’t you see this
in the supermarket’s ad? “Get Coors, it’s the best
disease we have in the store.”
• For which we are fined and imprisoned when we
exhibit its symptoms.
• Which brings death on the highway.
• Without a bacterial or viral cause, and for which
there is no corrective medicine.

• Last but not least, alcoholism bars the patient
from Heaven. For the Bible clearly states in
I Corinthians 6:10 that no drunkard shall inherit
the Kingdom of God (and I hasten to point out
that while no drunkard will inherit the Kingdom
of God, the Power of God can set the drunkard
free and make him a fit subject for the portals of
Glory — just as it can for anyone else).
No, alcoholism is not a disease. So this crutch that
is being used by the medical profession, the Psychiatrist,
the Psychologist, and many others is merely that — a
crutch. It serves to shift blame (and thus, remove the
responsibility) from the one who is actually to blame,
and that is the individual himself.
WHO PROMOTES ALCOHOL?
Constant attention is drawn to the terrible use of such
mind-destroying drugs as heroin, marijuana, and cocaine, etc., and this should be done, but very little is being
said about the most sinister drug of all — alcohol — the
drug that is destroying our nation. It causes untold pain
and suffering, and there is scarcely a word said against
it. The newspapers are silent, newsmen seem unaware
of the problem, and the pulpits (sad to say) are almost
silent. As one realizes the tremendous amount of physical, financial, moral, and spiritual damage wrought by
alcohol, one can’t help but ask, “Why?”
Of course, the answer is obvious. Whereas cocaine,
heroin, and other drugs are considered to be outside the
limits of “decent society,” alcohol has been socially accepted.
Why is this so?
• Because it kills a little more slowly than the other
type of drugs.
• Because there are vast amounts of money to be
made from alcohol and the same people who
control the distribution of alcohol control the
dissemination of the information that influences
people to use alcohol.
TELEVISION AND MOVIES PROMOTE ALCOHOL
It is a sad fact that the image of alcohol is tremendously manipulated on Television. In one recent
survey it was found that alcohol related violence was
twenty-five times higher in real life than on Television
dramas. In other words, the sinister aspects of alcohol
are greatly downplayed on TV programming. Again,
I ask why? Well, one should keep in mind that the TV
Networks receive millions of dollars in revenues from
beer and wine accounts.

because we mentioned the name of a specific brewery on
one of the programs. Should this shock us? Not if we
consider beer and wine accounts that keep TV Stations
operating in the black. No one who loves money will
bite the hand that feeds him.
Dr. Thomas Radecki of the National Coalition on
Television Violence recently stated, “With the new research
in the past two years, it is increasingly clear that TV advertising and program use of alcohol is playing a major role in the
increasing abuse of alcohol.”
Radecki noted that the average child will see alcohol
consumed 75,000 times on TV before he reaches the
legal drinking age! When he must make his personal
decision in regard to drinking, what will the subliminal
influences tell him? That the “in people,” those who are
bright, sophisticated, and successful on Television are
almost inevitably seen holding a drink in their hands. In
other words, as far as Hollywood and network television
people are concerned, if you are bright and smart, you
too will have a drink in your hand.
He also observed that on network programming the
typical viewer sees 5,000 incidents of alcohol intake per
year. Ninety-nine percent of these cases of drinking will
be portrayed as favorable or at least neutral!
THE REAL WORLD
Another question must be asked. Is this what life is
like in the real world? The facts show us that fifty percent
of real-life balance is associated with alcohol consumption! On Television, only one percent of televised violence
is associated with drinking. Dr. Radecki believes that
TV’s benign portrayal of alcohol consumption is one of
the major reasons why alcohol abuse and violence are
the two most rapidly increasing causes of death in the
United States.
A total of seventy-six percent of those shown drinking any kind of beverage on television will be shown
drinking alcohol.
TV characters spend twice as much time drinking
alcohol as tea or coffee. They consume fourteen times
more liquor and beer than soft drinks, and they drink
fifteen times more alcohol than water, or at least it is
promoted as such, whatever is in the glass. Television
viewers will see an average of three incidents of alcohol
consumption for each hour they watch during prime
time. Those watching daytime TV will see six instances
of drinking per hour. (Obviously soap opera characters
have a higher percentage of alcoholism than the evening
characters have.)

Contrary to what one might expect (if TV is supposed
to reflect the real world), it isn’t the villains who do the
most drinking. The heaviest TV drinkers are well-known
stars appearing in regular series where they serve as role
models for our children and young people. TV characters
seldom refuse a drink — nor do they express disapproval
of someone else’s drinking. In situation comedies, excessive drinking is often used as a “good natured” way to get
more laughs.
It is now understandable why over three quarters of
all high school seniors use liquor regularly — with onehalf getting drunk at least once a month. It’s also easy
to understand why the White House Drug Abuse Office
states that pressure to drink begins as early as the fourth
grade. It might be a fine thing if someone led a crusade
to get wine and beer commercials taken from the air as
cigarette ads were.
THE MAIN PROMOTERS OF BEER AND WINE
It certainly isn’t hard to imagine the producers of a
product as the main promoters of that product. They’re in
the business of selling the poison they produce; however,
it’s the manner in which they promote it that’s despicable.
Let’s take a look at this.
We’re told that beer in Australia is vitamin-enriched.
Researchers at the University of Queensland report that
chronic vitamin deficiencies in alcoholics could be offset if brewers were to add vitamin B-1 to their products.
They assert that “A lot of heavy drinkers stand to benefit.”
They also said, “The average person in the northern Territory
consume 60 gallons of beer yearly!”
This will, of course, be yet another advertising plus
for the breweries. They will suddenly be able to trumpet
the nutritional benefits of drinking — trying to divert
the consumer’s attention from the bondage that comes
along with the intake of a little vitamin B.
A California winery has introduced Red Life, a
light wine aimed at these soda drinkers who want
something “a little stronger.” The main idea of course,
is to get young people — even children — interested
in drinking at an early age so they will then graduate
to something stronger.
You must remember, the breweries help to manufacture customers — and they have to start with the children
to do this. I’ll give you another example.

analysts meeting in Denver — he described the advertising of his own company as well as other breweries as
“outrageous” for its lack of ethics.

He referred especially to the fact that his company
pays 250 college students throughout the United States
to promote its beer through campus “Wet T-Shirt Contests,”
“Get Drunk,” and “Chug-a-lug” parties. He said the other
breweries did this so his company followed suit as something “strictly defensive.”
Coors said, “We do this — not because we think it is
right — but because other brewers do it. They will steal
our lunch — if we don’t do it.” He added, “I personally
think it’s outrageous, and everyone in the company thinks
it’s outrageous. One way or the other, the country is going
to stop this because our industry doesn’t have the ethics to
stop themselves.”
In legal parlance, testimony against self-interest is the
most damaging type possible in a court of law. Coors
certainly testified against his own self-interest when he
confessed the lack of ethics among the brewery owners
and managers. And by the way, his company sold nearly
15 million barrels of beer in the first nine months of last
year — 15 percent increase over the same period for the
previous year.
At the same time Coors was confessing his sins, he
also lashed out at do-gooders who were trying to raise the
drinking age from 18 to 21 — questioning the motives of
such crusades. He then went on to claim that only five
percent of alcohol users are abusers.
However, what he neglected to add is that the other
95 percent of nonabusers are on the way to becoming
abusers — in other words, drunks. They will eventually
get there if they drink long enough. Simply stated, the 5
percent who are now abusers were not guilty of drunkenness when they started drinking!
Yes, the boys who make the alcohol are their own best
promoters, and they do so in the most hypocritical, and
perverse manner imaginable.
POLITICIANS
Legislators in the state of Wisconsin some time back
argued recently whether milk or beer should be the
state drink. Wisconsin is known for both its dairies and
breweries (“The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous”) so
the competition was intense. One State Representative
declared his choice was alcohol, because, in his words,
“Beer tempers the emotions of our hard-working adults.”
This Representative should be reminded that beer
murders scores of Wisconsin motorists every year. Alcohol also compels some of those so-called “hard-working

adults” to beat their wives and deprive their children. To
my knowledge, milk has never been cited as a cause of
broken homes or bruised bodies.
Since marijuana is the number one cash crop in several sections of the United States, maybe it’s only a matter
of time before some political opportunists will nominate
pot as the official drug for the state.
One cannot help but say and think that the Legislators of Wisconsin ought to have better sense.
One doctor stated the other day that the reason stiffer
laws are not enacted for drunk driving (or stiffer sentences
not imposed) is because too many of the Legislators and
Judges are drunks themselves. This could well be true.
PREACHERS
Sadly, it is true, from the American pulpits, there
is seldom heard a discouraging word — on the subject
of alcohol.
As I write this, I am reminded of a religious periodical
that stated (from a teletype news report) that one of the
world’s noted Evangelists said there was nothing wrong
with an occasional drink. Talking to reporters, this particular Evangelist said he didn’t believe the Bible taught
teetotalism. “After all (this Preacher went on to say) Jesus
drank wine,” and he pointed to the Biblical account in
which Jesus is said to have turned water into wine at a
wedding feast. And as the Evangelist put it, “that wasn’t
grape juice, as some try to claim.” I wonder if this statement
was made to please and excuse the cocktail-drinking
friends of the Preacher.
(We will discuss momentarily the water that Jesus
turned to wine.)
Not so long ago, one major Missionary Evangelist told
me personally that in a great religious conclave (with
thousands of Preachers present) he asked all the Preachers
(who were Pentecostal incidentally) in the congregation
to stand if they did — or would — take a public stand
against any and all use of alcohol. He was startled at
the number who would not stand!
I had a Preacher tell me just today that our institutions are the way they are because our Churches are the
way they are — and our Churches are the way they are
because our families are the way they are. I wonder if
our families are the way they are because the pulpits
are silent.
I want to make a statement: any Preacher of the Gospel who won’t take a public stand against any and all use
of alcohol — and be vocal in that stand — is doing his

people, his God, and his country a disservice. The position that many Preachers take, that they never mention
alcohol because “their people already know it’s wrong,” is
a cop out. Many take this position because they don’t
want to offend the “sipping Saints” in the congregation.
The Preacher of the Gospel has always been the one
to whip the nation into line. The Preacher of the Gospel
is supposed to address the moral issues. It may not be
popular at times but it is our business. And if we fail to
do it — there’s no one else to do it. You could be deadlevel sure that the Media aren’t going to do it, and you
can also be sure that the politicians aren’t going to do it.
(Although, in the last couple of years, a few politicians
have stood up and taken a stand on this matter — perhaps a reaction to the dead, dry sermonizing they hear
from the pulpits.)
Preachers — no matter what it costs you — stand up
before your congregation and make your position known.
Warn the young people of the terrible ravages of alcohol.
Make no bones about it, pull no punches, and quibble
not. And if you don’t have strong feelings about seeing
death and carnage all around you as a result of America’s
worst drug — there’s something wrong with you!

to cope with the new rules of the game – violence, mob
riots, intimidation through accusations of racism, demands
for proportionality based on racial numbers, and all the
other social and political weapons used by the have-nots to
bludgeon treasure and power from the haves – Americans,
like others before them, will no doubt cave in. They will
compromise away their independence and ultimately their
way of life.
That is exactly what happened in South Africa. I know,
because I was there and I saw it happen.
South Africa used to be one of the most advanced
nations on earth. Then Washington intervened.
Faced with revolution in the streets, strikes, civil
unrest and the sheer terror and murder practiced by
Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress (ANC),
the white government simply capitulated in order to
achieve “peace.”
MANDELA
Mandela was in jail for twenty-seven years not because
he was an innocent black man but because he was a Communist terrorist who said in court that he was planning
to kill people with bombs. He could have been released
at any time simply by renouncing terrorism. He refused.
Westerners need peace. They need order and stability.
They are builders and planners. But what we got was the
peace of the grave for our society.
The Third World is different – different peoples
with different pasts and different cultures. Yet Westerners continue to mistake the psychology of the Third
World and its peoples. Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe are
perfect examples of those mistakes. Sierra Leone is in
perpetual civil war, and Zimbabwe – once the thriving,
stable Rhodesia – is looting the very people (the white
men) who feed the country. Yet Westerners do not
admit that the same kind of savagery could come to
America when enough immigrants of the right type
assert themselves. The fact is, Americans are sitting
ducks for Third World exploitation of the Western
conscience of compassion.
Those in the West who forced South Africa to surrender to the ANC and its leaders did not consider Africa
to be the dangerous, corrupt, and savage place it is now
in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Those Western politicians now have a similar problem looming on their own
doorsteps: the demand for power and treasure from the
non-Western peoples inside the realm.
Again, Washington forced Rhodesia into Communist
hands. Rhodesia exported tons of food. Zimbabwe typically starves. Washington did this.
It is already too late for South Africa, but not for
America if enough people strengthen their spine and take
on the race terrorists, the armies of the “politically correct” and, most dangerous of all, the craven politicians
who believe “compassionate conservatism” will buy

them a few more votes, a few more days of peace.
White South Africans, you should remember, have
been in that part of Africa for the same amount of time
whites have inhabited North America; yet ultimately
South Africans voted for their own suicide. We are not
so very different from you.

We lost our country through skillful propaganda, pressure from abroad (not least from the U.S.A.), unrelenting
charges of “oppression” and “racism,” and the shrewd
assessment by African tyrants that the white man has
many Achilles’ heels, the most significant of which are
his compassion, his belief in the “equality of man,” and
his “love your neighbor” philosophy – none of which
are part of the Third World’s history.

The mainline churches played a big role in the
demise of Western influence throughout Africa, too;
especially in South Africa. Today’s tyrants were yesterday’s mission-school protégés. Many dictators in Africa
were men of the cloth. They knew their clerical collars
would deflect criticism and obfuscate their real aims,
which had nothing whatever to do with the “brotherhood of man.”
THE QUESTION
Other tyrants, like the infamous Idi Amin, were
trained and schooled by the whites themselves, at Oxford,
Cambridge, and Harvard. After receiving the best from
the West, they unleashed a resentful bloodlust against
their benefactors.
From what I have seen and read thus far, I fear Americans will capitulate just as we did. Americans are, generally, a soft lot. They don’t want to quarrel or obstruct the
claims of those who believe they were wronged. They
like peace and quiet, and they want to compromise and
be nice.
A television program that aired in South Africa
showed a town meeting somewhere in Southern California where people met to complain about falling
standards in the schools. Whites who politely spoke
at the meeting clearly resented the influx of Mexican
immigrants into their community. When a handful of
Chicanos at the back of the hall shouted and waved their
hands at them, the whites simply shrunk back into their
seats rather than tell the noisemakers to shut up. They
didn’t want to quarrel.
In America, the courts are still the final arbiters
of society’s laws. But what will happen when your
future majority refuses to abide by court rulings – as
in Zimbabwe. What will happen when the new majority says the judges are racists, and that they refuse
to acknowledge “white man’s justice”? What will

happen when the courts are filled with their people,
or their sympathizers? In California, Proposition 187
has already been overturned.
What will you do when the future non-white majority
decides to change the names of streets and cities? What
will you do when they no longer want to use money that
carries the portraits of old, dead white “racists” and
slave owners? Will you cave in, like you did on flying the
Confederate flag? What about the national anthem?
Your official language?
Don’t laugh. When the “majority” took over in
South Africa, the first targets were our national symbols.
In another generation, America may well face what
Africa is now experiencing – invasions of private land by
the “have-nots”; the decline in health care quality; roads
and buildings in disrepair; the banishment of your history
from the education of the young; the revolutionization
of your justice system.
In South Africa today, only 9 percent of murderers
end up in jail. Court dockets are regularly purchased and
simply disappear. Magistrates can be bribed as can the
prison authorities, making escapes commonplace. Vehicle
and airplane licenses are regularly purchased, and forged
school and university certificates are routine.
What would you think of the ritual slaughter of animals in your neighbor’s backyard? How do you clean up
the blood and entrails that litter your suburban streets?
How do you feel about the practice of witchcraft, in
which the parts of young girls and boys are needed for
“medicinal” purposes? How do you react to the burning of witches?
Don’t laugh. All that is quite common in South Africa
today.
RACISM?
Don’t imagine that government officials caught with
their fingers in the till will be punished. Excuses – like
the need to overcome generations of white racism – will
be found to exonerate the guilty.
In fact, known criminals will be voted into office
because of a racial solidarity among the majority that
doesn’t exist among the whites. When Ian Smith of the
old Rhodesia tried to stand up to the world, white South
African politicians were among the Westerners pressuring
him to surrender.
When Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe murders his political opponents, ignores unfavorable court decisions, terrorizes the population and siphons off millions from the
state treasury for himself and his friends, South Africa’s
new President Thabo Mbeki holds his hand and declares
his support. That just happened a few weeks ago.
Your tax dollars will go to those who don’t earn and
don’t pay. In South Africa, organizations that used to
have access to state funds such as old age homes, the
arts, and veterans’ services, are simply abandoned.

What will happen is Western structures in America will
be either destroyed from without, or transformed from
within, used to suit the goals of the new rulers. And they
will reign either through terror, as in Zimbabwe today,
or exert other corrupt pressures to obtain, or buy votes.
Once power is in the hands of aliens, don’t expect loyalty
or devotion to principle from those whose jobs are at
stake. One of the most surprising and tragic components
of the disaster in South Africa is how many previously
anti-ANC whites simply moved to the other side.
Once you lose social, cultural, and political dominance,
there is no getting it back again.
Please note. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Whatever you
do later, however hard you fight, you cannot get it back.
Unfortunately, your habits and values work against
you. You cannot fight terror and street mobs with letters to your Congressmen. You cannot fight accusations
of racism with prayer meetings. You cannot appeal to
the goodness of your fellowman when the fellowman
despises you for your weaknesses and hacks off the arms
and legs of his political opponents.
To survive, Americans must never lose the power they
now enjoy to people from alien cultures. Above all, don’t
put yourselves to the test of fighting only when your
backs are against the wall. You will probably fail.
Millions around the world want your good life. But
make no mistake: They care not for the high-minded
ideals of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, and
your Constitution. What they want are your possessions,
your power, and your status.
And they already know that their allies among you,
the “human rights activists,” the skillful lawyers and
the left-wing politicians will fight for them, and not for
you. They will exploit your compassion and your Christian
charity, and your goodwill.
They have studied you, Mr. and Mrs. America, and
they know your weaknesses well.
They know what to do.

“THE DOCTRINE OF THE RAPTURE
OF THE CHURCH”

I Thessalonians 4:13-17 – “But I would not
have you to be ignorant, Brethren, concerning
them which are asleep (refers to Believers who
have died), that you sorrow not, even as others
which have no hope. (This concerns those who
do not know the Lord who will have no part in
the First Resurrection of Life and, therefore, no
hope for Heaven.)
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again (the very Foundation of Christianity is the
Death and Resurrection of Christ; it is the proof
of life after death in a glorified state for all Saints
in that life, which incidentally will never end),
even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God
bring with Him. (This refers to the Rapture of the
Church, or the Resurrection of all Believers, with
both phrases meaning the same thing, even as
Paul describes in I Cor., Chpt. 15. At death, the
soul and the spirit of the Child of God instantly
go to be with Jesus [Phil. 1:23], while the physical
body goes back to dust. At the Rapture, God will
replace what was the physical body with a Glorified Body, united with the soul and the spirit. In
fact, the soul and the spirit of each individual will
accompany the Lord down close to this Earth to
be united with a Glorified Body, which will then
make the Believer whole.)
“For this we say unto you by the Word of the
Lord (presents the Doctrine of the Rapture of the
Church as the ‘Word of the Lord’), that we which
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord
(all Believers who are alive at the Rapture) shall

Trump of God (doesn’t exactly say God will personally blow this Trumpet, but that it definitely does
belong to Him, whoever does signal the blast):
and the dead in Christ shall rise first (the criteria
for being ready for the Rapture is to be ‘in Christ,’
which means that all who are truly Born-Again will
definitely go in the Rapture):
“Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up (Raptured) together with them (the
Resurrected dead) in the clouds (clouds of Saints,
not clouds as we normally think of such), to meet
the Lord in the air (the Greek word for ‘air’ is ‘aer,’
and refers to the lower atmosphere, or from about
6,000 feet down; so, the Lord will come at least
within 6,000 feet of the Earth, perhaps even lower,
with all the Saints meeting Him there; but He, at
that time, will not come all the way to the Earth,
that awaiting the Second Coming, which will be
seven or more years later): and so shall we ever be
with the Lord. (This presents the greatest meeting
humanity will have ever known.)”

Though the word Rapture is not used in the Text, it
does come from the words “caught up.” The Latin word
is “Raptus,” from which in English we devise the words
“rapt” and “rapture,” meaning “to be lifted up and carried away.” Also it means “ecstasy or joy.”
In the Greek Text the words “caught up” is “Harpazio”
and has four distinct meanings. These are:
“TO CARRY OFF BY FORCE”
This tells us that Satan and his demon spirits who rule
the world’s system will not be able to stop the departure
of the Saints of God, with the Lord using force, if necessary, against Satan’s powers. Paul, in Ephesians 6:12,
wrote, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers
of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” THE EXPOSITOR’S STUDY BIBLE
notes state: “For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood (our foes are not human; however, Satan
constantly uses human beings to carry out his dirty
work), but against principalities (rulers or beings
of the highest rank and order in Satan’s kingdom),

‘Principalities’), against the rulers of the darkness
of this world (those who carry out the instructions
of the ‘Powers’), against spiritual wickedness in

It has been a wonderful addition to our home. One of
the best parts of my day is seeing our one year old twins
dance and clap when the music comes on. It is a true joy
to witness. God bless you all, and this wonderful Ministry. I praise the Lord for the Work He is doing through
you, and I feel honored to be sharing your views and
teaching the same Message from the pulpit each and
every week.

I can’t seem to turn the TV off of SBN
I just want to say how much I appreciate and thank
the Lord for your Ministry and all involved in the daily
operation of the Ministry. I purchased both the e-Bible
and a Crossfire Bible for my stepdaughter, and just today
received the ESB Large Print Edition for myself. I also
want to tell you that because of the stir your Ministry
started in my Spiritual soul to find a church home, my
stepdaughter and husband have come to know the Lord.
I just praise the Lord for the reawakening of the Holy
Spirit in me and for my family as well. I can’t seem to
turn the TV off of SBN, there’s always either a word in a
sermon that grabs my ear, or a song I just have to listen
to. Unless the SonLife Broadcasting Network is down,
at least one of the TV’s in my house is tuned into SBN.
Also, everyone knows that when “Frances and Friends”
is on, either sit or be quiet!
May the Lord bless the Ministry, your family, and all
involved in keeping this Message moving into the hearts
and souls of all the people it can possibly reach.

“Go to the Cross of Christ”
How can I begin? I’ve been Saved and filled with the
Holy Spirit for a little over 20 years. I’ve often struggled
with doing the right thing because of only relying on
myself, doing what I know is right and what was expected
of me to obtain Sanctification. When I first began to

watch you last year on SBN, I couldn’t
quite understand the meaning of “Go
to the Cross of Christ.” It was very hard
for me to come to grips that I was still under
bondage to physical acts when I knew that I
was Saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. But,
as I continued to watch the program and pray, the
“Truth” began to appear. I am not the same I was
six months ago, nor will I ever be the same again. You
are the first thing we hear in the morning, and the last
thing we hear at night. I am ruined to other pastors as I
compare their word of truth to the real Truth that Brother
Swaggart ministers on. My wife and I are both licensed
ministers, and we would be proud to carry the “Cross of
Christ” to other people. God bless you all.

My children watched their Dad dance in the
Spirit all over our living room floor
My husband and I moved from North Carolina back
home to Tennessee three years ago. Since being there,
we have tried numerous churches, Pentecostal and
nondenominational. We had become so discouraged!
We couldn’t find a church that has anointed preaching.
We couldn’t find a church that had anointed music. We
couldn’t find a church where the Holy Spirit had freedom
to Move. We couldn’t find a church that had discernment. What we did find was dry, dead churches. We
found churches serving refreshments, having dinners,
having game nights. The children’s ministries and youth
groups were playing video games instead of teaching
the Word! We had all but given up on finding what we
were looking for. We felt guilty about not having our
kids in church, yet, we didn’t want them to think that
these dead churches we had visited were all that there
was. One day when flipping through the channels on
our DirecTV®, we found Brother Swaggart’s Church and
it’s on almost all of the time at our house now. We are
being so blessed by all of it. The music and preaching are
so anointed. My children watched their Dad dance in the
Spirit all over our living room floor a few short weeks ago
during a Sunday morning Service! We are sitting in our
living room and having Church and knowing that what
we are seeing and hearing is real, because our spirit is

“To Me He’s Become Everything”
I just wanted to say how much I could feel the anointing and Moving of the Holy Spirit yesterday as I was
listening over and over again to the song, “To Me He’s
Become Everything”. I don’t care if you played it 100
times or 1,000 times, it didn’t matter, because each time
it made my heart glad. Yesterday I didn’t get anything
done around the house, but I didn’t care. What I did get
done was important to my soul. I sang, I danced, I praised
the Lord, and I called up and gave to the Ministry. I am so
excited and hope I can explain this so you can understand
my heart. This didn’t just start yesterday with me. God
has been putting you and your songs in my heart many
months ago, at that time not even knowing about SonLife Broadcasting Network. For a long time I had been
so discouraged with going to church and hearing music
that could never speak to my heart. My soul knew what
I needed to hear, but it wasn’t finding it until now. The

Cross. I was saved a few years earlier, but the powers
of darkness flooded my soul that I know now must have
happened to Paul too.

Him Crucified. I love everyone there with a love so deep,
deeper than some of my relatives who do not want this
Message and they’ve cast me away. But, God told me,

“THE TRUE DISCIPLE” – PART II

Matthew 16:21-23 – “From that time forth began
Jesus to show unto His Disciples, how that He must
go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the
Elders and Chief Priests and Scribes, and be killed,
and be raised again the third day (His sufferings,
and the glories that should follow are always associated in Scripture [I Pet. 1:11; 4:13]; the Cross
was ever His destination, the very reason He came;
the Resurrection was never in doubt).
“Then Peter took Him, and began to rebuke Him
(Peter chides Jesus for speaking of suffering and
death; regrettably, many preachers continue to do
the same, as they reject the Cross), saying, Be it far
from You, Lord: this shall not be unto You (at that
time Peter, nor any of the Disciples, understood the
Cross as it regarded its necessity).
“But He turned, and said unto Peter (respects
strong action; would be the sternest of rebukes),
Get thee behind Me, Satan (Jesus used nearly the
same words in rebuking Peter, and the other Disciples that He had used to the Devil, and His Temptation [4:10]; all denial of the Cross in any form,
is of Satan): you are an offence unto Me (speaks
directly to Peter, because he is now being used by
Satan): for you savor not the things that be of God,
but those that be of men (if it’s not the Cross, then
it’s of men, which means it is of Satan).”
A QUICK REVIEW OF “PART I”
Time and space does not allow that I cover again all
that was stated last month, but the key points were the
following: all Believers must encounter and embrace
two major Spiritual Truths in order to experience the
Abundant Life that Jesus promised. The first required
Revelation was the Revelation of the Person of Christ (we
discussed the meanings of Revelation and illumination
last month). The second Revelation, that we will focus

on now, is the understanding of the Work of Christ at
Calvary. The Gospel in its simplicity demands that we
know and hold to Christ and Him Crucified. That is,
Who Jesus is and what Jesus did!
WRESTLING WITH THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS
The Message of the Cross, plainly stated, involves the
understanding of what Jesus accomplished at Calvary
and the benefits that come from purified Faith in that
event. Even as the acceptance of the Person of Christ for
Salvation is a struggle for the lost soul, the understanding
and application of the Message of the Cross is almost
always a struggle of equal magnitude for the Believer.
Salvation comes when we trust in Christ alone.
Deliverance, liberty, and inheritance benefits come when
we understand and embrace the Cross as the means to
life. Why is it so hard for the church to acquiesce to the
truth of the Cross? Why don’t we readily hear and receive
the truths of this Message? Why is it sometimes difficult
to apply the Cross to my daily life? In Peter’s life we see
three areas of opposition that surface. These three areas
that he wrestled with are still opposing Believers today.
And might I also add, growth is an ongoing process of
daily facing the opposition and pushing through to the
concepts and benefits of the Cross Life.
PERSONAL AGENDA
The emphasis of the fallen human heart is I. As a result
of the Fall, man’s depraved nature became focused upon
sin and self. These two concepts dominate the heart of
fallen men. When we come to Christ a part or portion
of dependence upon self is surrendered. But, there
remains a portion of self and self-interests that push for
dominance in our lives. Peter had been a fisherman with
a decent, perhaps even very profitable business. He had
left all to follow Christ. He assumed that he would be

seems right unto a man but the end thereof is death. If
we refuse to reject a method, a belief, an approach to
God, simply because it’s what we have always done and
we are familiar with it, and it is the wrong way to live
for God, we are in a way of death. Peter expected the
Messiah to rule and reign immediately. Sin wasn’t even
a major concern of the Jews of that day. They wrongly
assumed they were right with God because they were
Jews. They believed that the Messiah would elevate
Israel to her proper place of prominence when He came.
All this talk of dying and being killed didn’t match up
with Peter’s understanding of the Messiah. He should
have read Isaiah, Chapter 53, a little more closely. But
the standard teaching of that day formed his thinking
and the Cross had no place in his mind.
POWERS OF DARKNESS
rewarded for that by Christ. He thought that as Christ’s
position rose, so would his. He asked about his reward for
leaving his house (Mk. 10:28). He fought with the others
as to who would be the greatest (Lk. 9:46). Personal
agenda wasn’t looking for a Cross it was looking for
aggrandizement. When Jesus said He was going to die,
Peter saw all his personal interests falling to the ground.
He would look like a fool! Everyone would think that
Peter had been an idiot for leaving a thriving business
and hooking up with an itinerant preacher from Galilee.
Peter saw the Cross of Christ as a negative. It didn’t fit in
with his plans. He wasn’t savoring things that mattered
to God, he was holding to things that mattered to him.
The Cross demands an end to personal agenda. We are
to become a servant, even as Christ became a Servant,
obedient even to the death on the Cross. Jesus leads the
True Disciple to death and denial of self. The heart of
man struggles against this, not seeing the benefit.
PREVIOUS TEACHING
Every Believer, shortly after being Saved, develops
an approach to living for God. True Believers desire
to please God, to be pleasing to Him, to obey Him and
learn of Him. Therefore, whether the approach to
Relationship with God is developed by oneself or as a
result of following others, a system of approach is soon
embraced by the new Believer. That Believer has faith in
his approach to Relationship with God and evidences it
by practicing the same approach over and over, day after
day! But, what if the approach is wrong? What if our
walk before the Lord is not pleasing to Him? What if we
have embraced laws, rules, regimens, routines, in essence,
religion, instead of relationship? What if, out of a heart
of true love and devotion, we have embraced a wrong
approach to the Lord? The Bible says there is a way that

Satanic powers are pushing for both personal agenda
and previous teaching to cloud the mind and heart of
the Believer. Paul said in I Timothy 4:1, “Now the Spirit
speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall
depart from the Faith, giving heed to seducing spirits,
and doctrines of devils.” Therefore, a person will find
all kinds of “religious reasonings” to hold to personal
agendas and previous teaching. In a nutshell, we must
conclude that unless we come to the end of ourselves,
where all hope of the flesh has been surrendered and
the Cross embraced, we are not losing our lives, we are
protecting them. If a man loses his life he will find it.
If not, he will lose even that which he has. The Way of
the Cross is God’s Way. The Way of Faith and Grace is
God’s Way. As Believer’s we are to daily embrace the
death of personal agenda, surrender the error of false
teaching, and recognize that our enemies are not flesh
and blood but powers, principalities, and wickedness in
high places. As we die daily to self we exchange our
lives for His. Oh, that Christ would live through me!

“THE LORD PRESERVED DAVID WHITHERSOEVER HE WENT”
I Chronicles 18:6 – “Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and
brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went (it is the Will of God, and even the insistence
of the Lord, that we subdue not just some of our spiritual
enemies, but all; we must rule the sin nature, and not the
sin nature ruling us [Rom. 6:3-14]).”
David is one of the greatest Bible characters found in the Word
of God, and is one of my personal favorite persons to read about. In
this particular Chapter, you will find David, the king of Israel, bringing
Israel into a place where there are no enemies around them, for he
had subdued them all. Likewise, we also find in this Chapter exactly
how the Child of God should live, with all enemies subdued, living in a
state of complete Victory over the world, the flesh, and the Devil. We
need to understand that this is not just a Bible story, but it can be the
story of every person who names the Name of Jesus Christ, Victorious!
SUBDUING THE “INWARD FOES” IN OUR LIVES
Before we get into how this story can be applied to our lives, I
would like to deal with a very important point that is the case of so
much failure in the life of a Believer, the death of Saul at the hands
of the Philistines. The last picture we see of Saul, the people’s king,
is a man lying on the battlefield, dead from a self-inflicted wound by
his own sword, in other words, he committed suicide. The Philistines
were known as an “outward foe,” meaning that they were an enemy
outside of the territory that God had promised Abraham, many years
before, and this enemy had to be defeated. But, since Saul could not
defeat the “inward foe,” which was the Jebusites, this “outward foe”
defeated Saul. Before we can have Victory over the external foes in
our lives, the internal foes must be defeated.
How many Christians or how many young people still have Philistines in their lives? How many young people, who love God with
all of their hearts, still live with Philistines dominating their lives? The
Christian, no matter how long they have been living for the Lord, will
find, and without exception, that the greatest foes in their lives are
these “inward foes,” such as lying, gossip, pornography, lust, etc. Satan

knows that if he can keep his strongholds within our lives, that this
will greatly hinder our walk with the Lord. Each one of these “inward
foes” must be defeated, no matter what they are, and without question. If they are not brought under subjection, then we will continue
to live a life of spiritual failure. There is only one way to Victory, it is
through our Faith in Christ and Him Crucified. There is no other way
that the enemies of our lives can be brought down and subdued, it is
only through the Cross of Christ, and our Faith in His Finished Work.
By our Faith ever being anchored in the Cross of Christ, this allows
the Holy Spirit to begin to do a Work within our lives that will bring
about the Victory needed.
THE ONLY SOLUTION KNOWN TO MAN: THE CROSS
The moment that David became king of Israel, the first thing that
he did was to subdue the Jebusites (I Chron. 11:4), which would lead
to the defeat of the Philistines (I Chron. 11:14, 18), and the Syrians
(I Chron. 18:6). Once again, let me state that if we do not defeat the
enemies within our lives, these strongholds of Satan, those without
fail will ultimately overcome us. That is why we preach the Cross
as strongly as we do, for the Cross of Christ is the only Way to have
complete and total Victory over these strongholds of the enemy. Paul
would write and say, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,
but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (II Cor.
10:4). The strongholds that Satan has erected in the very center of
our lives can be pulled down, but we cannot do it, in and of ourselves.
Now, Satan is very clever at presenting another way of victory besides
the Cross of Christ, and he will use much of the church world to present that way and to carry out his work. But, the truth remains that
there are not several ways to obtain the Victory needed; not a way for
Pentecostals, a way for Baptists, and a way for Catholics, they are all
different. No! There is only One Way to experience this Victory that
we are discussing now, and that is through the shed Blood of Jesus
Christ! Without the shed Blood of Christ, there is no Victory. Man
is burdened down with sin, and most Christians have strongholds of
Satan in their lives, with no victory in sight. The only Solution to man’s
problem, which is sin, is the Cross of Christ! This goes for the young

WILL THE CROSS WORK FOR TEENAGERS?
Simply put, yes! There is not a separate way for young people
different from that which is given in the Bible! Jesus Christ did not
present another way for the youth of Israel that was different from
the adults, it was all the same, “Come unto Me, all you who labour
and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you,
and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find
rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light”
(Mat. 11:28-30). This “yoke” that Christ is speaking of is the “yoke”
of the Cross. Once a Believer places their Faith in the Cross of Christ
and that Alone, the Holy Spirit has the ability to Work in our lives,
and to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. But, notice this,
there is one word that the modern church world needs to look at
very carefully, “ALL.” This means that the Cross of Christ is exactly
what our Young People need, and the Cross of Christ will work for
our teenagers and young adults.
THE LORD GAVE VICTORY TO DAVID
After David defeated the “inward foes” of Israel, he turned to
the “outward foes” of Israel, of whom the Syrians were. Now that
the Ark of God was seated and enthroned in the very center of Israel,
David now enjoys complete Victory over all enemies, both at home and
foreign. Once Christ is seated and enthroned in the very center of our
lives, which speaks of our Faith being placed in the Finished Work of
Christ, we can enjoy Victory over all the enemies of our lives, inward
and outward. It is not the Will of God that we enjoy Victory over a
few of our enemies, but it is the Will of God that we have Victory over
all of our enemies. As He gave David the Victory over these enemies,
He has already given us the Victory over all of our enemies, and it was
done through the Cross of Christ.

THE UNIQUELY, AUTHENTIC, AND INSPIRED
WORD OF GOD
PART I

The Bible was written over a 1500 year span of time; written over
40 generations by more than 40 authors, from every walk of life –
including Kings, peasants, philosophers, fisherman, poets, statesman,
scholars, etc.
The Bible was written in different places. Moses was in the wilderness; Jeremiah in a dungeon; Daniel in a Palace; Paul inside prison
walls; Luke while traveling; John on the Isle of Patmos.
The Bible was written at different times; David in times of war;
Solomon in times of peace.
The Bible was written during different moods; some writing from
heights of joy and others from the depths of sorrow and despair.
The Bible’s subject matter includes hundreds of controversial
topics. The Bible authors spoke with harmony and continuity from
Genesis to Revelation. There is one unfolding story in the Bible:
“God’s Redemption Plan for man.”
THE WORD OF THE LORD
There are nearly 4,000 declarations in the Old Testament by the
Prophets introducing their statements, “Thus says the LORD,” “The
Word of the LORD that came unto me,” or something similar. Two
passages that would be an example of this are:
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write you these Words: for after
the tenor of these Words I have made a Covenant with you and with
Israel” (Ex. 34:27).
“And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of
Josiah king of Judah, that this Word came unto Jeremiah from the
LORD, saying, [2] Take you a roll of a book, and write therein all the
Words that I have spoken unto you against Israel, and against Judah,
and against all the nations, from the day I spoke unto you, from the
days of Josiah, even into this day” (Jer. 36:1-2).
Each writer explained what God had revealed to him, expressing
it in the same terms in which he received it from God. However, God
did not dictate to the Prophets as though they were secretaries. God
revealed His Truth to them and showed them how they should present
it. In so doing, they expressed his Word in terms of their own outlook,
interests, literary habits, and peculiarities of style. B.B. Warfield said it
this way:
“The church has held from the beginning that the Bible is the
Word of God in such a sense that its Words, though written by men

and bearing indelibly impressed upon them the marks of their human
origin, were written nevertheless, under such an influence of the Holy
Spirit as to be also the Words of God, the adequate expression of
His Mind and Will. It has always recognized that this conception of
co-authorship implies that the Spirit’s superintendence extends to
the choice of words by the human authors (verbal inspiration, but
not mechanical dictation!) and preserves its product from everything
inconsistent with Divine authorship – thus securing, among other
things, that entire truthfulness which is everywhere presupposed in
and asserted for Scripture by the Biblical writers (Inerrancy).”
PLENARY INSPIRATION
The Doctrine of Plenary Inspiration holds that the original documents of the Bible were written by men, though permitted to exercise
their own personalities and literary talents, yet wrote under the Control
and Guidance of the Holy Spirit, the result being in every Word of the
original documents a perfect and errorless Recording of the exact
Message which God desired to give man.
To better explain plenary, which means “full, complete extending
to all parts,” we’ll look at II Timothy 3:16:
“All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for
Doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness.”
And the Apostle Paul says in I Thessalonians 2:13:
“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because,
when you received the Word of God which you heard of us, you
received it not as the word of men, but as it is in Truth, the Word of
God, which effectually works also in you who believe.”
Another Scripture that describes Inspiration is I Corinthians 2:13:
“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing Spiritual
things with Spiritual.”

“THE SONG OF THE BOW”/ “TELL IT
NOT IN GATH . . .” (Part iI)
II Samuel 1:20 – “Tell it not in Gath, publish it not
in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the
Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.”
In my last article we examined the conflict between
King Saul and David the anointed and future king of
Israel. In this month’s article we will continue to look
into the many events and trials that God would use to
develop within the heart of David the leadership and
character that would be necessary to lead the Nation
of Israel.
As we discussed in Part One of this article, King Saul
had grown increasingly paranoid and resentful of the
favor that rested upon David because of the anointing
the Lord had given to David. Because of the failure of
King Saul to fully obey the Lord the kingdom had been
taken from him. Though it would be several years before
Saul would be slain upon the mountains of Gilboa in a
fateful battle against the Philistine armies, in truth the
anointing upon King Saul for leadership had been lifted
and already rested upon David. David would become
king, yet the path to the throne would not come easy.
Saul would drive David from the kingdom and pursue
him with a relentless hatred in an attempt to take his
life and so eliminate the threat to his own legacy.
One such attempt would occur in the wilderness of
En-gedi in a cave. David would learn a lesson in that
cave that would become a great piece in the building
blocks that would lead to his right to assume the throne
of Judah and eventually the whole of Israel.
THE CAVE OF EN-GEDI
In I Samuel 24:1-3 we are told that “. . . it came to

pass, when Saul was returned from following the
Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold,
David is in the wilderness of En-gedi. Then Saul
took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel,
and went to seek David and his men . . . And he
came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a
cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David
and his men remained in the sides of the cave.”
Saul was driven to seek David’s life. After returning
from battle against the Philistines it was revealed to
Saul where David was hiding and he set off to pursue
him. As we discussed in last month’s article King Saul
represents the systems of men (i.e. the Flesh), whereas
David represents the Move of the Spirit, therefore, we
can learn much if we view the struggle between Saul
and David in this light.
Saul was the consummate politician, note how in I
Samuel 24:2 that Saul, “. . . took three thousand
chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek
David. . . .” Saul knew that David was loved by the people so
in a political move, he chose three thousand men out
of ALL Israel attempting to secure the favor of every
tribe in Israel. So it is with the way of the flesh, the
flesh will manipulate and do all that it can to secure
favor and maintain its position of control especially in
the area of religion.
The Scripture tells us that after an exhaustive pursuit
of David through the wilderness of En-gedi that Saul
came to rest in the very cave where David and his men
were hiding.
David now found himself in an extraordinary
position, the very person who was seeking to take his
life was now asleep and given into his hand. Yet, as we
shall see, David was being tested by the Spirit of God.
The Evangelist
LESSONS IN THE CAVE
One of the first things that we can learn from this
encounter between Saul and David is that not every
opportunity that presents itself to take control of our
own destiny is a license from God to do so. It was
indeed the Lord that brought Saul to the cave where
David was hiding, but this was not the time for David to
take the throne. No, this was a test of David’s heart and
leadership skills.
Imagine how David must have felt. He had served
Saul with all his heart; he had fought many battles for
the King; he had ministered to Saul many times in the
playing of his harp, which would bring relief to the King
from the evil spirit that had come to rest in his mind.
David had been completely loyal to Saul. Yet, instead
of being rewarded for his good deeds, he was hated
and forced to flee for his life, all because of the king’s
jealousy of the anointing of the Lord that rested upon
him. He was forced to live a life constantly on the run.
He was a man without a home, a man lied about, a man
despised. Now, here was his sworn enemy given into his
hand. Surely this was his time . . . or was it?
Here is the test of the believer. David now had
Saul in his power. Could we blame him at this point
if he stretched forth his hand and eliminated his
enemy? It appears that while God was testing David,
Satan also would seek to use this circumstance to
tempt David into taking his destiny into his own
hands. We see Satan at work in the way that David’s
men reacted to Saul’s presence in the cave. I Samuel
24:4 says that “. . . the men of David said unto
him, Behold THE DAY of which the LORD said
unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy
into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as
it shall seem good to thee. . . .”
It all seemed so logical. Here was his enemy; here
was his chance to end the madness. Here was his chance
to eliminate Saul and become King of Israel; to take the
promise given him the day he was anointed by Samuel
in his father, Jesse’s, house in Bethlehem.
BEFORE HE COMES
There is much more to see as we continue examining
God’s Ways versus man’s ways in the life of David (which
we shall do in Part Three of The Song Of The Bow). In
these last hours it is imperative that we humble ourselves
allowing God to lead us and mold us at every turn. We
must allow Him to bring us forth into His Promises
rather than to reap destruction as Saul did through
stubbornness and pride. The Church of the Living God
must rise and shine as never before in this dark hour just
prior to Jesus’ return for His Bride.

HAPPY 59th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Yes, Frances and I, on October the 10th, will have
been married 59 years. To be sure, and without question,
other than my Salvation, she is the greatest thing that
ever happened to me and I believe to the Work of God
in general. So I thank the Lord more than I have words
to express at this which He did for me so long ago.
The part that Frances plays in this Ministry is beyond my ability to portray. I’ve said it many times, and
continue to do so, I actually believe that she could run
General Motors if she had to do such. It has been her
wisdom, her Faith, and her consecration, that has helped
us to survive that which seemed to be impossible. As well,
her program, “Frances and Friends”, even though she’s
not a preacher, draws the largest audience of any of our
programs on the SONLIFE BROADCASTING NETWORK.
If there is anyone who fits the 31st Chapter of Proverbs,
Frances does.
To help us with Television, and I’m speaking of
broadcasting the Word of God 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week, I’m going to ask you to help Frances and I to
commemorate this 59th Anniversary with an offering of
$59, or $159, or $1,059, etc. We need it very much for
Television, all over the world. Let me say a little more
about that.
TELEVISION ALL OVER THE WORLD
I believe that God has called us to do exactly what
the heading says, to take this Message of the Cross all
over the world. Other than the USA and Canada, and
as well the United Kingdom, most of the countries of
the world where we televise, we get no financial help
whatsoever. And yet the Lord has told us to do this.

We believe this MESSAGE OF THE CROSS must go to the
entirety of the world.
For instance, back in July we went on the Satellite
that covers some 67 million homes in sub-Sahara Africa.
In other words, it covers almost the entirety of all the
countries below the equator.
And then we are on Cable Systems all over Central
America and South America, plus a few in Mexico (See
page 21). We don’t get any financial help for this, but
it must be done.
I believe what I’m about to say very, very strongly.
I believe what is happening now as it regards this
Ministry and the Message of the Cross, is what the Holy
Spirit is saying to the Churches. Those of you who stand
with us, with thousands being added constantly, are a
privileged people indeed! The Lord spoke to me in the
Fundraising session in July, that every name that came
through was precious in His Sight. I know that’s quite a
statement, but I believe it to be true.
In other words, that which the Lord is now doing, is
of extreme significance, and everyone who participates
in what He is doing is privileged indeed! I pray that all
of you will understand that, will not forget that, and will
conduct yourself accordingly. And above all that I’ve
said, I thank God for all of you the Lord has given us
for this great last day outpouring. More and more I feel
that the Lord is giving each of you an understanding as
to how important all of this really is.
PREPARATION
Knowing what I felt the Lord was doing, and more
so what He was going to do, I had mentioned it any
number of times in our Telecast that this great Harvest
had already begun. But the Lord spoke to my heart a
few days ago (as I dictate this), and informed me that
the Harvest had not begun. The preparation time for
it had begun, but not the actual Harvest of souls. After
that became real to me, everything else began to fall in

line as well. The preparation Work being done by the
Holy Spirit became very obvious.
I believe the Lord has also spoken to my heart as to
when this Harvest of souls is going to begin. I will not
relate that now, but I don’t feel it’s very long off.
A MOVING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
I’m sure that some of you remember the Wednesday
morning back in July, when the Lord Moved so mightily,
actually in a way that I had never experienced before.
It was so real, so wonderful, that I felt in my spirit that
nothing must be said or done those hours that would
hinder the Holy Spirit. I’ve experienced His Moving in
any number of ways, and any number of times; however,
I don’t think I have ever experienced anything quite like
that. While we desperately needed the funds, that was
not the real reason for my thanksgiving. The Moving
and Operation of the Holy Spirit is to me that which is
so very, very important. There is absolutely nothing in
the world like it. And I believe these moments that we
are experiencing this, is but a prelude of what the Lord
is going to do. In fact, I believe that the anointing and
convicting Power of the Holy Spirit is going to Move so
mightily in some of the programs and some of the Services from the Church, that thousands of people will be
Saved as the result of one particular program or Service.
The Holy Spirit is God, and as such there isn’t anything
that He cannot do.
In view of that, we must walk closer to the Lord than
ever before. We must walk totally and completely after
the Spirit and not at all after the flesh. I ask of you, even
soliciting you, that you would pray for us daily that we
would do exactly what the Lord wants, no more, no less.
THE EVANGELIST MAGAZINE
When someone writes or calls, we immediately start
sending our monthly publication, THE EVANGELIST to
that individual. But, if in a period of six months we do
not hear from you in any capacity, the name is deleted
from our list. We feel like if there is no contact in six
months, that the individual in question is not really interested in receiving the Magazine, etc. So, if you want
to get the Magazine each month, you need to do one of
two things:
We believe “THE EVANGELIST” contains material that
every Believer needs to read and to heed. So, I would
hope that you would want this Magazine continued into
your home each and every month.
TELEVISION
As some of you by now know, on some of the Cables
we are preempted in the early morning hours, mostly
from 12 midnight to 4 or 5 a.m. in the morning. And
then there are one or two other Cable Systems, such as in
Atlanta and Dallas, that we have preemptions at times
with which we are not happy with at all. But, we had
to come to the place that we felt it was better to be on
as we are than not at all. So we went ahead and took
the time despite these particular problems. But please
understand the following:
If it’s not one of our preachers from the Ministry that
is bringing the Message, then it’s not our program.
Also, at times on DIRECTV®, we get preempted for
sports activities, etc. Thankfully, we do not have to pay
for that particular time. But, we’re going to go to work
to try to remedy this situation to where we are not preempted at all on DIRECTV®, as well as the Cable Systems.
Do you realize, as far as we know, there has never been
a Christian Network that has grown as fast as SONLIFE
BROADCASTING? We give the Lord all the praise and
all the glory. He told me about a year ago, that He was
going to open the door wide for the placement of the
programming. That He has done, and that He is doing.
And thank you so very, very much, for being such an
integral part of this which the Lord is doing. Without
you we could continue, but not nearly as well.
And one more time, please remember the 59th Wedding Anniversary of Frances and myself. If we have been

“The Doctrine Of The
Rapture Of The Church”
The reader must understand that there is much more
demonic activity today in the world than one may realize.
“TO SNATCH AWAY”
The second meaning of the word, “Harpazio” means,
“to snatch away” referring to the fact that the Rapture
will occur so suddenly that it will take the whole world
by surprise. Can you imagine in a split second untold
numbers of Believers all over the world will be taken
away in the blink of an eye?
“TO SEIZE AND CARRY OFF SPEEDILY”
This refers to the use of Divine Power transferring
the Believer swiftly from one place (Earth) to another
(Heaven). The Holy Spirit reemphasizes the suddenness of
this great event. That is why the Believer must be ready,
must be expecting this great day to happen at any moment. We must not grow complacent or lethargic, but
anticipating the Rapture could take place at any time.
The Apostle Paul in II Corinthians 13:5 said, “Examine
yourselves, whether you be in the Faith; prove your own
selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Jesus
Christ is in you, except you be reprobates?”
The word “examine” here means “to test, to try.”
In other words, we should try ourselves to see whether
Christ truly lives in our heart and life. It is not enough
just to say “I believe”; we must test ourselves continually.
“TO CLAIM FOR ONESELF EAGERLY”
The idea of this meaning is that the Lord Jesus Christ
as the Bridegroom who comes from Heaven to claim
His Bride, the Church, is eager to take us up with Him
to Glory.
What a day that will be when the Trump of God will
sound and corruption will put on incorruption, mortality,
immortality (I Cor. 15:51-58).
As the song says, “Some day soon, Church I’m leaving,
going to a meeting around the Throne.”
Are you ready? I pray you are.
