John Hart & Clete & Randi's Jeep in Box Canyon.
After a full day on the trail, Clete & Randi, Dave & Paula and I
take time to relax and watch the sun go down.
John & Hazel's setting up for the "Squeeze". It was their first
time running Elvis.
One of the main benefits of an overnighter was experiencing an
Arizona desert sunset.
Clete made his way through the "Squeeze"
Attending Sunday's Elvis run; Clete & Randi, Dave & Paula,
John & Hazel and Mike Drawsky.
We were entertained by (3) rock buggies going in the opposite
direction.
Watching Dave drive up this rock fall twice and with a little
encouragement from Dave, I decided to give it a shot. At this
spot, my rear diff was hung up. Clete told me that it was a slight

John & Hazel took direction from Clete as they got ready to
drop down off the one of the last ledges on Elvis.
Catching all those smiling moments was the number one
pleasure of the day...
By 2:00 PM we had completed the Elvis Trail and posed for a
group shot before heading for home.

Spook Rally 2011
M4W Representative: Bill & Amy Mihailov
Date: October 28 - 30
One of the lucky ones to win a ribbon for Best Costume was
Tanya Mihailov, dressed as Lady Dracula.
Lisa and little Sheridan Pinson at Friday nights costume party.
Bill Mihailov doing what he enjoys most, dressing up for the
Spook Rally costume party!
Just could not pass up the opportunity to include this unknown
participant in the Horn.
Once again, Bill & Amy and their crew spent weeks planning,
prefabricating and assembling their checkpoint, named the
"Lost Dutchman's Revenge". As always, their efforts were well
received by all.
Just like others who have returned year after year to help set
up and man the M4W checkpoint, Robert & Stephanie Catron
were back lending a hand in the installation and enjoying the
positive response.
Rally participants have no idea what they are in for when
entering "Lost Dutchman's Revenge".
Sugarloaf, right across the Highway from the 4-Peaks
4
Staging
Area, is a popular spot for target shooting. Here is where most
of the trash originated.
Lee & Bev and Bob & Ann posed with John Hunter, owner of
Hunter Off Road. When John is not doing fabrication work, he
is working as a Voluntary Maracopa County Sheriff. The rock
crawler in the background was built
bui by John with his own
money. You can find John at most every cleanup party.
Once inside the mine, the driver is directed onto
to a drop trailer
where he is asked to stop and wait until they finish blasting tthe
mine ahead.. The dynamite sounds off, the trailer tilts forward
and the frightened passengers are then given the green light to
Chad Chaney
proceed on.
