Kazaguruma: Kazaguruma means Windmill in Japanese. This piece uses the idea of
how windmills use natural resources to create energy. When we play taiko, we collect all the natural resources around us and create positive energy.
Sensei no Uta: It means "Teacher's Song". We learned this piece from the Grand
Master Seichii Tanaka, founder of San Francisco Taiko Dojo and Grandfather of
North American Taiko.
Wachi: Written by KODO's Yoshikazu Fujimoto, this song was written as a
representation of the festivals of his home town.
Gendai ni Ikiru: Written by Gary Fujimoto of One World Taiko, it means "Living
in the Present." This song as a great way to think of life: Good or bad, positive things
will come out of any situation or opportunity. Please enjoy the little things in life!
Kaminari: This is LVKT's signature piece. Kaminari means Thunder and represents
how a Las Vegas storm (specifically) comes in slowly and from the distance, is very
powerful, disappears, and returns for one final statement. Our special guests for this
song are Zach Castillo and Brandon Hernandez from Kajukenpo from the Heart.
