Original key broken, but in lock. Can open and shut manually. Est. $400 ~ $1,200 ID# 22162 Lot # 1896 Unusual Express Box Larger than the classic express box, this must have been used by some small company. 24 x 15 x 15”. Green with black scroll work. Not in working condition. Lock has been covered. But the inside clearly shows this was a lock box - it is heavy and well made. Inside has an ugly coat of orange paint on the bottom and Scientific American papers on the sides (1854 and 1855). Opens.
