Message from your President
It’s hard to believe 2013 is half way over! We have done so much
so far. We have had some great meetings. Dorothy Saviste and her
networking presentation was one of my favorites.
Sharyl has done a great job with her team to bring in new members
and working to bring back some former ones. We still need more
Realtor members to keep our ratios up.
Had a great time at Blue Pointe this last week. Thanks to Jean Vogel
for setting it up.
Speaking of Jean, she and I spent a few days in Washington DC in May at the NAR Mid
Year Convention. This is where much of the National WCR work is done. We were able
to participate in great classes, networking, etc. We also got to go to some fabulous restaurants.
This month we celebrated our District V annual meeting at Paseo with a challenging and
inspiring panel of our own superstars and then State President spoke. She gifted each of
us with an insulated tumbler with her motto “Dream, Believe, Achieve.”
Recently we had a Shred Day. I think this would be a great service project/fund raiser for
our chapter each year. We all have papers that need to be shredded better than what the
home shredders do.
I’m excited about the event that Inge is planning for July 13 th. Stay tuned and plan to be
involved.

We have been busy with Lunch and Learns hosted by JJ Jones, very well
attended by members and potential members with themes such as Identity Theft, Social Media, Negotiations, Goal Setting, etc. Our themed
Luncheons have been exciting with high profile presenters from city planning to leadership. Our Membership Drive hosted by Plantation was very
timely - just look at how new construction is taking off! This past weekend our chapter hosted the first "Shred Day" interfacing community services such as security for business and home, safety/security advisors
from South Trail and Iona McGregor Fire Districts, drop off for clothing
and household items through church sponsored Thrift Shop, Teen Challenge carwash, and Miracle Children Network presentation by Michael
Frye of Re/Max Realty Group who donated the parcel for the event, furthered sponsored by Amerivest Realty, Pat Huether and Sharyl Leifeld.

Local Chapter—Member Benefit Highlight! Education Reimbursement
Reimbursement will be distributed on a percentage basis depending on amount budgeted for the year and the number of members who request reimbursement. The following classes may be submitted for reimbursement
PMN Courses
Broker Courses
Realtor Designation Courses
Classes offering only continueing education credits DO NOT qualify.
The member must be in good standing having attended at least 5 Business Resource meetings within the current year and
must hold their primary membership in the Fort Myers Chapter of Women’s Council of Realtors. Reimbursement requests
for courses taken within the current year must be submitted in writing on a Check Request form with original receipt (s)
Attached by November 30th of the current year. Check requests forms can be obtained from the treasurer.
