GREETINGS FROM THE MAYOR It is with great pleasure, on behalf of Charlottetown City Council, that I extend an invitation to all citizens and visitors to take advantage of the many activities and events, as outlined in this 2008 - 09 Fall/Winter Brochure. As the school doors reopen and most of us head back into hectic work schedules and routines, I encourage you to make time for positive leisure activities, whether it be as a volunteer or participant, and play an important part in community life. The Parks and Recreation Department has developed a variety of programs to provide you with many choices for your leisure time and I encourage you to become and stay active. The City of Charlottetown is dedicated to serving its citizens with programs and facilities that contribute to the overall well being of individuals and families, promoting good health, teaching new skills and providing much deserved enjoyment and entertainment. Many of the sport organizations in our City are volunteer driven and would not otherwise be available to our residents, so on behalf of the entire City Council, I would like to extend appreciation, to the many volunteers involved in our community based sport and leisure services. With so much to offer, Charlottetown continues to be a prosperous community with increased opportunities for improved quality of life.
