If you’re a high school student who wants to explore the exciting and ever-changing world
of fashion, then learn from some of the best as a BP. Fashion Board Member.
As part of the BP. Fashion Board, you’ll …
• Get the ins and outs on trend forecasting, buying, advertising/marketing, styling
and the world of retail.
• Participate in exciting Nordstrom projects and events.
• Meet others your age who are also passionate about style.
• Be a BP. brand ambassador and share your style tips, trends and insights with friends and family.

Please keep the following in mind:
Membership requires an ongoing reliable time commitment. You’ll be part of monthly meetings
and seminars, each of which usually last one hour at your local Nordstrom store.
And as a BP. Fashion Board member, you’ll be a representative of the Nordstrom company,
and should convey a professional and courteous manner at all times.
The board term is August 2013–May 2014.
Here’s how to get started …
1. Your application for this non-paid member position must be completed in full and turned in to
your nearest Nordstrom of choice by March 15, 2013, with the following:
• The complete Application form
• Your Fashion Project (page 6)
• The Statement and Signatures form (page 8)
• Two Letters of Recommendation (pages 9 and 11)
2. You’ll also need to include:
• Your high school transcript (staple it to the back of the application). Your minimum
cumulative GPA must be at least 2.5, and you must be a high school student in the
2013/2014 school year.
3. You and your parent or guardian will need to read and sign all the appropriate pages.
All applications received by March 15, 2013, will be reviewed. If you’re selected for an interview,
you’ll be contacted by phone or email by April 1.
Late, unsigned or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
There’s a checklist on page 13. Make sure you don’t forget anything!

Your fashion project.
We want to see what you love about fashion. Are there particular looks or trends
you like? Do you admire your friends’ natural style or have a celebrity style icon?
This is your time to show us your style, so get creative! Tear out looks from magazines.
Take snapshots of your friends. Make a collage. Design a poster. Create a photo album.
Whatever you’d like! (These are just a few ideas to get you going—so have fun!)
Package your fashion project creation with your completed application. Include your
name, address, email address and phone number on the back of your project in case it
becomes separated from the rest of your application submission.
Your fashion project will not be returned.

BP. Fashion Board Authorization and Release
I’m aware of the requirements and responsibilities for membership on the BP. Fashion Board. I feel my school,
family and personal activities will allow me to devote the time and energy necessary to be a successful member.
I understand the commitment required in being a BP. Fashion Board member and would like to be considered.
If I am selected for membership on the BP. Fashion Board, I agree to the following additional terms:
•I understand that I am responsible for travel to and from my local Nordstrom store for meetings and activities.
•I understand that by providing my email address to Nordstrom, I consent to be added to the Nordstrom
email marketing list.
•I assume and accept any risks and hazards incidental to my participation on the BP. Fashion Board. In
consideration of the opportunity to participate, I release, absolve and agree to hold harmless NORDSTROM, Inc.,
its subsidiaries, contractors and agents, and their respective employees from any and all liability for injuries,
illnesses, damages and/or costs resulting from my participation on the BP. Fashion Board, including the use of
Images described below.
•I grant permission to Nordstrom, its employees and agents to take, use, reproduce, alter or publish visual/audio
images (‘Images’) of me. Images include, but are not limited to, photographs, digital images, drawings, renderings,
voices, sounds, video recordings, audio clips or accompanying written descriptions. I agree that Nordstrom owns
the Images and all rights related to them. The Images may be used in any manner or media without notifying me,
such as websites, publications, promotions, broadcasts and advertisements. Use of Images may include posting with
first name, last name or school as identifiers. I waive the right of prior approval of the use, reproduction, alteration
or publication of the Images and hereby release NORDSTROM, Inc., its subsidiaries, contractors and agents from
any and all claims for damages of any kind resulting from the use of the Images.
