The 3rd Annual UH Alumni Association Homecoming
Golf Tournament on Wed., Oct. 8, at Hawaii Prince Golf
Course is being hosted by the UH Army ROTC Alumni
Association Chapter this year. As part of the 2008 UH
Mānoa Homecoming Week festivities, the tournament
will provide an opportunity to pay tribute to all the UH
alumni who have bravely served our country. Tournament
proceeds will benefit the UHAA Endowed Scholarship
Fund, as well as the UH ROTC program.
This is no ordinary golf tournament – it will be a day of
patriotism combined with UH alumni pride. Before the
11:45 a.m. shotgun start, a 15-minute program will
recognize the six UH ROTC graduates who lost their lives
in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan: Tom Blevins, Frank
Rodriguez, Brian Kong, Jeremy Wolfe, Nainoa Hoe and
Jonathan Brostrom. There will be an official posting of the
colors before tee-off, and Marlene Sai will sing the
National Anthem. UH ROTC cadets will be on hand to
assist with the event, and will raise money for their club
at the par 3 challenges.

Kimo Kahoano will both emcee the opening ceremony
and perform with his trio. There will be plenty to eat and
drink, including a hot lunch provided by Kevin TwoBoots, snacks and a buffet dinner. Golfers can win a new
Toyota Corolla with a hole in one. The event will close
with an awards ceremony at the dinner, which will be
emceed by ESPN 1420’s Bobby Curran.
