TEZYİNİ ARTS
Tezyini arts are one of the symbols which showing understanding culture and art of nations. Tezyini
arts is the one of the heritages from Turkish nation and it comes from ‘’Tezyin’’ which is the Arabic
word. Today,Tezyini arts are called decorative arts in Europe.
İn Ottoman empire,decorative arts was created boy palace artists who are belong to a kind of artists
club.They came to different places of empire and they met at clubs.So they actived in all branches of art
by creating a common language of form have determined the formation of the classical Ottoman art.The
most important club is Ehl-i Hiref. Decorative arts have a lot of applications.They are
ebru,hat,weaving,wood art and Stone art and others.
Ebru is a, tragacanth condensed on the water, formed with specially crafted paint, the pattern of the
through passage on paper, decorative art.
Hat art or calligraphy writing systems developed using items,often used for decorative purposes,is a type
of a visual arts.
Stone carving art is usually implemented using easy-shaped limestone. The products manufactured are
used in the decoration of interior and exterior.
In weaving, plain weave mats, knotted carpets are not as thick and durable, virtually no examples of
ancient times is like but Holbien carpets can be an example.
EHL-İ HİREF
Ehl-i Hiref was an organization composed of artists and craftsmen at the beginning of the 1500’s
.Members of the Ehl-i Hiref who are talented people, are connected to Sultan but in essence they are
indepented.So they determine the current time for art and carries an important place in history art of
Turkey

TEZHİP OF TEZYİNİ ARTS
Tezhip is one of the types of art which Turkish nation have adopted after
accepting the religion of İslam. It’s a Persian word.Tezhip is a art which
meaning ornament with a gold and showing value of valuable documents like
Kur’an papers.Made with only gold is named “Halkari”,the person who
made it is named “Müzehhib” and artworks are named “Müzehheb”.
THE İMPORTANCE OF PLANTS İN TEZYİNİ ARTS
Ornamental plants and plants which mentioned in Quran have affected
Ottoman artists.Artists motifs have benefited from these plants. The
reason for this, the Ottomans were willing to exalt the religion of Islam.

While at the time of dissolution of Ottoman Empire, these arts came to a
non-improvement stage that would continue until some time after the
establishment of the Republic of Turkey.Tezyini arts connected Fine
Arts Faculty.After that,works have been trying continue but it could not
improve. İn universities and courses,it’s still teaching by teachers who
gives their heart and respect for this art.
