It's again time to start organizing our nex t My stery Pals get-together
where our y oungsters and adults, unknown to the children, write each
other for sev eral weeks before the y oung pals learn their adult pal's
identity . Our final celebratory party follows the single worship serv ice,
Sun., Jun. 9.
Between Sun., Mar. 24 and Sun., Apr. 1 4 participation forms will be
av ailable in the Lounge near the coatroom. Parents are encouraged to
assist y oung people in filling out these forms. Parents, if y ou are willing
to hav e y our child participate in e-mail communication, please be sure
their/y our email address is on the form.
If y ou fill out a form to be either an Adult or Y outh (age 1 3 and
abov e) My stery Pal, the adults will receiv e the name and general info
of their pal during the week of Apr. 22. The y oung pals will only know
an unknown pal is writing them for the nex t eight weeks. Both will use
mailbox es located near the coat room to write and receiv e mail from
each other beginning Sun., Apr. 28.
Adults, if y ou are willing to communicate by email with either Frank
Goldner, Postmaster, or y our my stery pal, please put y our email
address on y our form.
Please note, there is a commitment in joining the My stery Pal Society ,
namely to write regularly , and to attend the final party . If y ou cannot
attend the Jun. 9 get-together contact Frank Goldner and an alternate
get-together plan will be arranged.
We often fall short of adults. It would be helpful if parents of y oung pals
who sign up, would fill out at least one adult form. Complete
the registration forms by Apr. 1 4.

7 :30pm , Room 32: This Eugene Jarecki film won the 201 2 Sundance
documentary prize showing the catastrophic effect of the massiv e incarceration
of African-American men and women in this country . Discussion to follow the

T he Ex perience of Mid-Life Wom en (Ages 45-65) in the Y ears after the Deaths of
their Parents, Sun., Mar. 24, 12:30-2:30pm . A light lunch of soup included. Ev entually
we all lose our parents. Rev . Leslie Westbrook, Ph.D., LCPC, will discuss what she learned in
her dissertation research. After a short presentation attendees will hav e time to share their
ex periences.

A Guide for the Journey to Your True Calling
Four Sundays: Mar. 17 and 24; Apr. 21 and 28, 7-9pm, Room 31
Rick Dodd facilitates a discussion of Stephen Cope's inspirational book, The Great Work of Y our
Life: A Guide for the Journey to Y our True Calling. Cope, a psy chotherapist and senior
scholar at the Kripalu Center for Health & Y oga, uses the Bhagavad Gita to profile how ordinary and
famous people (including Goodall, Emerson, Thoreau, Anthony , Keats, Woodman,
Beethov en, Tubman and Gandhi) ov ercame doubt and discov ered and pursued their dharmas
(Sanskrit: passion, truth, mission) with courage and faith. The book urges us to ex plore, rediscov er
and liv e our indiv idual dharmas to achiev e personal fulfillment and contribute to society .
To enhance group discussion the group will be closed to newcomers after the first session. Find the
book on the internet or at local bookstores for $1 5. Participants should read Chapter 1 and 2

The Dedication Ceremony welcomes children of members into the religious community where all
children are nurtured and may thriv e. We dedicate children to the highest ideals of life while in turn
the congregation dedicates itself to supporting the parents/guardians and the children as they grow

Community Supported Agriculture
The Env ironmental Task Force of RRUUC is sponsoring Community Supported
Agriculture partnership with Query Mill Farm in Darnstown. Members pay in the
Spring, and get organic v egetables deliv ered each Sunday to RRUUC. Memberships are

Community Knitting & Crocheting Project

Beth Chai Passover Feast

Gun Violence
Let's pick up the ball that Sen. Brian Frosh mov ed to the House! Mary land is more than halfway to
the goal of adv ancing Gun Safety and Gun Ownership bills to the House. A grassroots effort is now
needed to apply pressure to House members. V isit the table in the Fellowship Hall for:
