with a hot mens and womenswear collection have joined forces

with Brave Kid to launch their first kids fashion collection into
the spring 2014 season.
There was a fantastic garden event in Florence to mark the
launch with children dressed up and playing in a decorated
garden plus a beautiful arrangement of still life tableaux in the
stables for a closer view of the collection.
The brothers were there for the launch and I managed a sneaky
word with one of them who said they had a lot of friends who
had children recently and it had given them the idea to begin a
children’s collection especially as their customers were growing
older and having kids too.
The clothing follows the aesthetic of the adult lines and is
playful, cool and easy to wear with a little of the Canadian easy
styling combined with some theatrical touches. Andrea
Montlepare is responsible for the matching kids footwear for
Dsquared2.

What a finale, as the kids dressed in Il Gufo’s summer 2014
fashion trends came down the catwalk at Pitti Bimbo 77 one
last time, strategically placed bubble machines erupted to their
delight.
It made for a hugely entertaining moment and showed off the
sweetie bright colours of the collection to perfection. There was
extra emphasis on printed cotton jersey for the summer season
but the signature Il Gufo gathered neckline silhouettes remain.
Favourite shades were tangerine, yellow, raspberry, mint green,
grassy greens and grey mixed with white staples. Notable in a
blue and white section was a striped all in one jumpsuit too.
As well as the bubble entertainment Il Gufo had hired an
exceptional youth orchestra rather than the usual thumping
beat soundtrack half of whom were hidden behind a curtain
until the final moments, another surprise for the audience!

The lovely Roma e Toska trend setting kids fashion label has
offered a preview of their 2014 spring / summer line which is
exhibiting at Pitti Bimbo from today.
This season inspiration for the collection comes from a journey
into the woods and specifically some painters of the Romantic
period including a print taken from “Promenade in the Woods”
by the Russian painter Iwan Schischkin.
One print is of small anemone flowers, another is a Birch tree
bark which is used for linings. The collection is highly focused
on the teenage years but as you can see below there is a smaller
range for pre teen girls too. See last seasons teen fashions for the
coming winter too.
The label is very popular in its native Germany as well as
Russia and Asia and is sold in the UK in Harrods. The label is
also manufactured ethically in Germany and Italy.
