SureWall Retaining Systems provide a
simple and easy solution for creating solid
timber retaining walls and sleeper edging.
Each retaining post ensures a tight and
secure fit for each rail, with no packing or
fastening required, saving time and money.
A recess in each post allows for adjustment
to ensure you get the perfect fit every time
and to compensate for future timber movement
and shrinkage.
The SureWall™ System
SureWall™ retaining posts are heavy-duty galvanised to
provide long life and a clean professional finish.
The SureWall™ retaining wall posts are designed to be used with 50mm rails.
Firstly determine the height of your wall and choose the correct size sections from the chart below.
We recommend that SureWall™ posts be embedded halfway into the ground and concreted in
place. For example, a 500mm high wall will require a 1100mm post, this will take 4 x 150mm x
50mm sleepers (the first sleeper should be embedded 50mm into the ground)
We recommend posts to be spaced 1200-1500mm apart.

Installation
Step 1
Plan and measure the length and height of the
wall with post centres at a max of 1500mm apart
(we recommend 1200mm).
Step 2
Using a string line to ensure the retaining wall
is straight and level, concrete the posts into the
ground ensuring the required height is achieved
and that the posts line up and are vertical.
If the retaining wall steps down at any point ensure
it steps down at the same height as your rails.
Step 3
Slot in timber rails (150mm x 50mm are
recommended), ensuring the first sleeper is
embedded 50mm into the ground.
Nail down capping timber (optional). Prior to
back filling, suitable drainage is recommended,
i.e. slotted drainage pipe with Filter Sleeve laid
in a trench of drainage metal, additionally the
drainage metal can be wrapped in a Duraforce
or Filter Plus geotextile.
Step 4
Backfill up to the wall and you're done.
