Greer returned to the company after more than 2 years of active duty as an officer in US Navy Reserves, completing two overseas tours in Europe and southwest Asia. Mike Greer, SIOR, CCIM Industrial Division Broker [email protected] From 2009 to 2010, Greer served at US European Command facilities in the United Kingdom and Germany. During this tour, he distinguished himself by co-leading a crisis intelligence team which monitored the threat posed by al-Qaeda and its affiliates during Germany’s 2009 national elections. Due in part to his leadership, the team later received the Director of National Intelligence’s Certificate of Distinction at the National Counterterrorism Center in Washington, D.C. In late 2010, Greer deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan where he served a yearlong tour at Headquarters, International Security Assistance Forces (HQ ISAF). Within HQ ISAF’s intelligence center, he worked as the Deputy Officer-In-Charge for the Insurgency analysis team, and regularly briefed General Petraeus and General Allen on insurgent activities in southern Afghanistan and key status updates on SGT Bowe Bergdahl, the only American POW currently held by the Taliban. For his efforts, Greer received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. “While I greatly enjoyed my military work and experiences in Europe and the Middle East, I’m very excited to rejoin the NAI Earle Furman team and look forward to serving the country a little closer to home through local community organizations,” stated Greer. Greer graduated from Furman University in 1994 with a BA in Political Science. In 1997, he joined NAI Earle Furman after receiving his Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Florida. During his time at the company, Greer continually ranked as a top producer in the industrial division and completed more than 180 significant transactions. He also holds both the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and SIOR (The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) designations. “We are truly thrilled to have Michael back with us and proud of his work while he was away,” stated Earle Furman, SIOR, Chairman and Broker-in-Charge. “Michael was consistently one of the top-producing brokers in the company, and always did his best for our clients. Having him back is a great thing, both for the company and the clients we serve.” The United States Embassy Committed to the Upstate. Connected to the World. 2 Office Group Expansion! [email protected] OUR BLESSINGS ARE MANY BY: BILL WEEDE PRESIDENT OF PROPERTY MANAGEMENT As I look back on the past year, I can’t help but feel incredibly blessed. Our firm’s center located in Greenville, and Six Mile Crossing, a 16,000 square foot retail made a positive impact to our level of expertise as well as our capacity for Property Management Division has again been most fortunate to have continued our pattern of steady growth; we have an incredibly strong group of investors with whom we are honored to partner; our tenants are working hard to make their businesses thrive in this tough economy; we have the help of a tremendous group of service contractors with whom to work, and I have the pleasure of working with, without a doubt, the very best management staff in the Carolinas. center located in Ft. Mill, South Carolina additional growth. To close out the year, we were extremely pleased to pick up the management of Green Gate Office Park, a 110,000 square foot, 8 building office park located on the corner of Pleasantburg Dr. and I-385. The chance to partner with the owners of each of these properties is both an honor and blessing. Yes, we are indeed blessed. But as I dig a little deeper, I continue to be amazed at how fortunate we are to work and live in the upstate of South Carolina. What a wonderful place to be. South Carolina has been ranked #1 for Economic Growth Potential and widely recognized as a Pro-Business State. Greenville has been ranked as a “Best City in the Country” and “Best Bang for your Buck City.” In the midst of troubled economy Greenville not only survived, but thrived and was named in the top five of “affordable places to weather a downturn.” Over the course of the last 12 months, we’ve added approximately 15 new management opportunities to our already strong list of over 150 properties under management. Included in our new properties list is the Center for Developmental Services (CDS), a 34,000 square foot operation that provides developmental evaluation, education, and support services to children and families in the upstate. Other new properties include Pelham Court, a 40,000 square foot retail __________________________________________ “the very best management staff in the Carolinas” __________________________________________ In order to account for this growth we have been blessed with two new additions to our management staff. Lindsey Corbett brought 6+ years experience in accounting and lease administration services to our team while our newest Property Manager, Mandy Thompson, has added 3 years of management experience to our group. The addition of Lindsey and Mandy has All these make me proud to call the Upstate home. We are thankful to a part of such a thriving business community and look forward to an exciting year ahead.
