On Tuesday, November 26, dispatch was alerted to a vehicle weaving in the road just after 6 p.m. on U.S. Route 460 just passed the Kentucky Route 30. While Salyersville Police Department was in pursuit to pull over the vehicle, the driver, Christopher Christopher M. Caudill M. Caudill, 35, of Prestonsburg, hit a culvert, flipping the vehicle on its top, according to Magoffin County Rescue Squad Captain Carter Conley. Caudill sustained no injuries and was able to get out of the vehicle on his own. The vehicle caught fire and the small flames were extinguished with a water extinguisher by Salyersville Fire Department. Caudill was arrested on scene and charged with op- COMING NEXT WEEK... See DUI | Page A2 More charges added at the jail By HEATHER ONEY Editor SALYERSVILLE - A Magoffin County woman was arrested Friday evening for DUI, but received more charges when she arrived at the jail. Regina Dyer, 34, or Border Road, Salyersville, was arrested on West U.S. 460 for allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs (first offense) and license to be in possession. According to the arrest citation, the Magoffin County Sheriff's Office observed Dyer's vehicle swerving back and forth from the white line to the yellow line traveling west on 460. Upon being pulled over, Dyer had slurred speech and showed signs of intoxication. Dyer was placed under arrest and transported to Paul B. The Gardner family, who have been decorating what is now known as Candy Cane Lane for nearly 20 years, have put up thousands of lights and displays on the small street located on the Ivy Point Hill off of West U.S. 460. Candy Cane Lane will be open to the public from 6 Editor S A L Y ERSVILLE - A woman was picked up on a bench warrant for shoplifting on Friday, accumulating Stephanie Pelfrey two other charges after running from police. Kentucky State Police responded to the Salyersville McDonald's to serve an arrest warrant on Stephanie Pelfrey, 22, of Paris, Kentucky. When Pelfrey saw the trooper, she went back into the restaurant and ran out of the back door and got into a blue Chevrolet S10, according to the arrest citation.
