NEW TEAM AT IIID

PRATAP JADHAV
Pratap Jadhav, an Interior Designer by education and profession, has been
practicing for more than two decades. He is the national President of IIID and
Secretary General for Asia Pacific Space Designers Alliance (APSDA). Actively
involved in IIID activities for last more than two decades, he has successfully chaired
five National Conventions, each one setting new standards. A man with a vision
and principles, he is an academician, having spent ten long years in teaching interior
design. He recently was conferred with “PUNE DESIGN PRIDE” Award for his
service to the profession of interior design and dynamic leadership. He was listed
by a design magazine, amongst top hundred architects and interior designers across
India for being instrumental in shaping the built space in the last decade and will
play influential role, in the times to come.
Jabeen L. Zacharias is a well known architect and interior designer, based
at Cochin. She graduated in architecture from Trivandrum with higher
studies in interior design from New York. In 2009 IIID discovered ‘Jabeen –
the leader and organiser’ when she delivered ‘Zone Leisure – NatCon 2009’,
the Convention known as ‘a show stopper’ even today! She is currently
spearheading IIID’s largest social relevance Program – ‘Project Coir’, for the
Government of Kerala. With proven records of leadership, coupled with skill,
commitment and focus, Jabeen could be that ideal ‘path changing navigator’
who can ensure ‘timely destinations’ as IIID starts another new voyage. Jabeen
believes in smart moves with a clear vision for IIID.
SAROSH WADIA
Jabeen Zacharias
Sarosh Wadia, is an alumnus of the School of Architecture, CEPT Ahmedabad,
and has been practicing in Surat since 1988. The first Elected Chairman of IIID
Surat, he was Chairman of the Education Committee from 2002-06 as a Member
of IIID’s EC. He, along with his team, formulated three sets of syllabi of different
durations and qualifications for courses in Interior Design. As Chairman of
the Membership Committee for 2012-14, Sarosh has been instrumental in
streamlining the Membership Application process, leading to a record 20%
growth, as well as revising Corporate Membership guidelines. He has also been
the Zonal Representative of Gujarat for 2010-14. A visiting faculty at various
colleges, Sarosh is also a National Council Member of the IIA.
Sameer Joshi graduated in Mechanical Engineering and post graduate in
Masters in Business Management. He has over 15 years of experience in
areas covering Market Research, Sales, Marketing, Brand Management and
ERP Implementation. In 2008, he became the youngest General Manager at
Godrej, spearheading Godrej Interio’s foray into green furniture. Currently
he is handling Product Management and is responsible for new product
introductions at Godrej Interio. He has been active with various associations
including Facility Managers Association, Marketing & Brand Managers
Association and also been actively involved with a number of management
institutes.
SAMEER JOSHI
Rajeev Sathe graduated from Academy of Architecture, Mumbai in 1979
and apprenticed with Uttam Jain and Charles Correa till 1984. After which he
started his private practice, wherein he worked on various architectural and
interior projects including schools, farmhouses, commercial complexes, guest
houses, housing, auto showrooms, offices, residences, boutiques, restaurants
etc. During his long professional career, he has received many awards and
his works have been published in various magazines, covering projects
executed since 1984. He taught as a visiting faculty for 23 years at Academy
of Architecture, Mumbai. Besides architecture he has a keen interest in
photography and travelling.
RAJEEV SATHE
Subhashchandra G. Arole is a trade member who is trades in both domestic
and export business. Some of his trades include his products such as granite,
marble, stones, tiles, sanitaryware and other allied products. His business
and working experience dates back to the year 1985. He is a law graduate
and has been a member of IIID Pune Chapter since the year 1988. He is the
Past Treasurer of IIID Pune Chapter and has held various positions in IIID on
Chapter as well as national level.
Subhashchandra Arole
Pradip Amberkar is a practicing architect and interior designer and also
the Vice Chairman of Rachana Sansad, Mumbai. He is the Past Principal of
Academy of Architecture, Mumbai and Past Head of Department of School
of Interior Design, Mumbai. He has been an educator for over four decades
now and has served on Board of Examiners & Syllabus Committee, University
of Mumbai, Maharashtra State Board of Technical Examinations & S.N. D. T.
University. He is a member of the Executive Committee at IIID, jointly working
alongwith members of IIID to improve the quality of interior design education
in the country.

Subhashchandra Arole
B. K. Tanuja, a graduate of University of Bangalore, has about 35 years of
work experience and is a partner at Kanvinde Rai & Chowdhury with Sanjay
Kanvinde. She has been involved in the design & execution of a number
projects with the underlying concern towards creating a sustainable built
environment. As Chairperson of IIID’s Delhi Regional Chapter from 2012-15
she has played a key role in promoting the profession by organizing several
seminars/lectures. A fellow of IIA, Tanuja has also been actively involved in
academics as a visiting Professor and has been on several national juries for
architectural/interior design competitions for Professionals and Students. She
has been an invited speaker at many Seminars/Conferences.
Shantanu Mukundrao Chaudhari, holds a Bachelors in Architecture
from Mumbai University. He has held several positions in IIID such as Vice
Chairman, for the term 2008-2010, Chairman, for the term, 2010-2014. He
has been practising in Hyderabad since 1993 for various projects across India.
He has had many firsts to his credit, during his tenure as the Chairman of
IIID HRC like – IIID HRC received the second best chapter award; he was
instrumental in starting the Vizag Centre; ‘Insider’ – the newsletter of IIID
HRC was launched; he was the first to start foundation day celebrations and
he was the first to start IIID branded merchandise like annual diary, desk
calendar, birthday and anniversary cards etc.

Sanjay Kothari, a graduate from Chandigarh College of Architecture is the
Past Chairman IIID’s Jaipur Regional Chapter. He has been teaching for more
than 16 years and believes that teaching is the greatest process of learning. He
has been offering design consultancy services in architecture, interior design
and urban planning since 1987. In the last twenty two years of the standing
the firm has designed and executed numerous works of architectural quality
and design value in India and abroad. Besides this, he also writes poetry and
articles on various contemporary issues. He is also an avid photographer.
SANJAY KOTHARI
Manish Kumat, an SPA passout Post-Graduate is the MD of his design cell
– Abhikalpan Architects Pvt. Ltd., a first major venture of green architecture
in Indore. He has been practising since last 23 years. He has been the Founder
Chairman of IIID Indore Chapter. His projects have received acclaim at
national level and state level competitions like IIID Anchor Awards and Ultra
Tech Awards. Some of his work has also been published in various leading
magazines of the country. He is a state level badminton player since childhood
and a keen photographer. He has a dynamic passion towards green buildings
and has an enthusiasm to bring a change in society with his passionate work.
MANISH KUMAT
JIGNESH MODI
Jignesh Modi, graduated in architecture from M.S. University, Baroda. He started
his firm Jignesh Modi & Associates in 2006. During his term as the Chairman of
IIID Surat Chapter (2012-14), he took the Chapter to new heights by generating
surplus funds for the chapter even after hosting 78 events in two years. He was
the Hon. Treasurer (2012-14) of IIA Surat Center and was also awarded the
Certificate of Appreciation, for Outstanding Contribution during the year 2010,
by IIA President Ar. Vinay Parelkar. He is an avid adventure cyclist and also the
Founder Chairman of a cycling awareness group – Life Cycling Green Association,
which started with the goal of a healthier and greener city. Besides this, he is also a
visiting faculty at the School of Interior Design, Surat, since 2008.
Hitesh Modi is heading the architecture and interior design partnership
firm Modi Srivastava & Associates since the past 22 years. He headed the
IIID Vadodara Chapter as a Chairman between 2012-14 and during his
term, Vadodara Chapter received the Best Chapter award for IIID. He has
been selected as the national Executive Member of IIID for the term 201517. Besides this, he has also worked as an EC member of IIA Vadodara for
2012-13.
HITESH MODI
Naresh Pachisia brings with him an experience of 23 years with Sarda
Plywood Ind. Ltd, one of the most admired wood-based panel companies
with excellence and innovation. An MBA by education, he has widely travelled
both nationally and internationally and has worked on several projects in
hospitality and allied sectors. Being the 3rd consecutive term with the EC, he
yearns to create a platform where the TRADE and the ASSCOCIATE network
can synergise together. He is socially well connected, and has a passion and
flair for finance, attributed to his background of India’s commercial capital.
Naresh Pachisia
Pooja Pathak is an Associate Professor and Head of Department of Dept
of Interior Design, L.A.D and Smt. R. P. College for Women, Nagpur. She
has been actively involved in taking consultancy projects of interiors and
architecture. Her paper co-authored by Dr. Alpana Dongre “Workspace
design in Indian context on occupants’ behaviour to enhance efficiency and
comfort” was accepted for presentation at Young Researchers Workshop, part
of 22nd International Association for People-Environment Studies Conference
(IAPS). Since 2000 she is involved in IIID in various capacities. She has worked
as an office bearer of Nagpur Regional Chapter since 2008. She was appointed
as Chapter Chairperson in 2012-14 tenure of Nagpur Regional Chapter.
POOJA PATHAK
Sanjay Charate, a Civil Engineer by education, runs Cultural’s Interior
Designers, a Kolhapur based firm which has worked with corporate,
government, and private clients to design major commercial, residential,
hotels, health care and research & offices and mixed used projects. He is the
associate life member of IIID and has been the Chairman of IIID Kolhapur
Chapter for two terms, from 2006 – 2010. His firm has won a lot of accolades
at the IIID MK Awards for various projects undertaken by them.
SANJAY CHARATE
Rajeev N., an engineer by profession, heads the firm Living Concepts
Designer Homes and Espa, with his 27 years’ experience. He is technically and
commercially well experienced and is a regular visitor in most international
fairs worldwide. He is in the Governing body member of the Indian Plumbing
Skills Council and is also active in organisations like Rotary, Indian Plumbing
Association, Indian Worldwide Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member
of IIID Bangalore Chapter for the last 8 years and has been actively involved
in the various programmes of the Chapter. He has served as Treasurer and is
serving his second term as Vice Chairman of the Chapter. With his experience,
IIID will grow to an international stature.
