Auction Guide
Our Mission
The Heart of the Catskills Humane
Society’s mission is to act as a
protective association primarily
in the care and disposition of lost,
strayed or homeless dogs and
cats, and as incident thereto, shall
maintain shelter for such animals and
operate the same. The Corporation
shall promote and advance humane
and protective care and treatment
of animals by positive community
interaction through education, spay/
neuter programs and other activities
that enable people of all ages and in
all circumstances to enjoy animal
companionship.
Heart of the Catskills
Humane Society
Extends a warm thank you to our staff
for their consistently excellent and caring

People and Businesses
We Treasure
The businesses and individuals listed
in this book are the reason we can
reach out and help to care for and
nourish homeless animals until we
place them with families who will love
them for the rest of their lives.
Often these businesses are small and
family-owned, and yet they donate
with full hearts. Patronize them.
Thank them.
Let them know you saw their ad here.
Remind them of why you choose to
support them.
Let the friends of the shelter know
their support means so much not only
to the animals, but to you and their
community at large.
We of the Spring Dance and Auction
Committee applaud them!

Auction Rules
Your bidder’s number appears on the back cover of this program. If
you do not have a bidder’s number, obtain one at the check-in desk.
YOU MUST HAVE A BIDDER’S NUMBER TO BID. The same bidder’s
number will be good for the silent and live auctions.
To make a bid in the silent auction, record your bidder’s number
and the amount of your bid on the bid sheet provided for each item.
Please adhere to minimum bids and minimum bidding increments
as noted. Bids of less than the designated increments may not be
recognized.
Watch the progress of the bidding. You may bid as often as you like
until the silent auction ends which will be announced after dinner. A
list of winning silent auction bids will be read at the end of the event.
All goods and services in both auctions must be paid for in full by the
end of the event. No item may be taken unless it is paid for by cash,
check or credit card. ANY ITEM NOT PAID FOR WILL BE FORFEITED AND
GO TO THE NEXT HIGHEST BIDDER.
All sales are final. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES unless
specifically noted. Bidders must make their own arrangements to
transport merchandise.
What if you must leave before the end of the silent auction? Make
sure that you are registered at the check-in desk. Let the people at the
desk know that you are leaving and give them your phone number. If
you are the winning bidder, we will call you.
The Spring Dance and Auction Committee has worked very hard to
verify item descriptions and values, but we do not guarantee accuracy. All items are sold “as is.”
Bidders are responsible for noting and honoring specific restrictions
such as dates, dollar limits on gift certificates, dinner, trips, etc.
The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, its board, staff and members shall not be subject to any claim for damages arising from goods
or services donated, or in connection with any transaction arising
from this benefit auction.
Thank you again for your support!

BEAUREGARD
A Retrospective Epilogue: June 29, 1994—March 22, 2007
Beloved Beau – you are gone. The legacy of your soaring spirit and boundless love remains ever-present. Your life’s odyssey, a kaleidoscope of treasured images; a frightened puppy flown to us from Tennessee – the seemingly
endless romps across the lawn – chasing tennis balls, Frisbees, woodchucks
– a tentative adolescent, gingerly testing the transformation of his summer
playground to chest high snow. Each passage – an increment to our relationship – twelve magical years of joyous experiences, intertwined lives, until the
devastating diagnosis of a degenerate disease that had no remedy, offered no
hope – culminating with the tearful finality of our last mutually exchanged
kisses. These fragments – cherished memories to be recalled and recollected
– brought to the forefront of our thoughts – reflected in mind’s eye, and enshrined in our shattered hearts forevermore.
