Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year! Welcome back everyone to a bigger and better
year with our new X Country course. Welcome to all our
new members. Paula told me we have a few new faces
which is great to see.
I will be doing a rider profile in the newsletters this year so
everyone can get to know our members a little better. I
will be handing out some questions (email or at muster) for
you to complete if you can return them to me along with a
photo of you and your horse that would be great. Parents
please let me know if you don’t wish to have your childs
profile in the newsletter.
Theres only 11 newsletters throughout the year so I’m not
going to be able to get to everyone sorry, but will continue
next year.
Looking forward to a big year.
Dalaine
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MEMBERS:
February Meeting: Our next meeting will be held after the first
muster on the 5th Feb (as a trial) so please stay once the muster is
finished as all are welcome and value your input.
Next muster will be on Sunday the 5th Feb starting at 9am. Can
you please advise Wendy prior to the day if you are attending or
not and if any of your circumstances have changed as we will
start putting you into your capability groups.
Dates to remember: 11th March Greenbank Hack Show / 18th
March Greenbank Gymkhana
Please contact Sharon if you are attending the hack show and
she can give you a job to do on the day if you can’t attend the
set up the day before – Thank you
Before kicking the competition year
off make sure your horses teeth,
worming and vaccinations are up to
date to ensure they are nice and
healthy for the year ahead.
If you are interested in
becoming an instructor at
pony club please see Wendy

Can you please send Wendy ([email protected]) all
your competition results the week after the competition. I
require the event & placing. Also the placing that the ribbons
went to on the day.
Can you also let me know any events that you went to even if
you didn't win anything.
We need to know where our riders are competing in case of
any incidents, it is a PCAQ requirement.
Points can also only be counted if you are riding your
usual pony club mount unless you have notified us
previously due to injury of your horse or change of
horse. PLEASE READ YOUR BYLAWS RE THIS

SET UP DAYS:
We require about 15 different
coloured ice cream lids or something
similar to mark our jumps so please
start collecting, I’m sure we can get
at least that many white & blue but
would also like 1 0r 2 other colours
if possible.

We would just like to ask that all riders remember that our instructors are not paid to instruct & that most
are giving up valuable riding time to instruct so I would like all riders to give all instructors the respect of
listening to what the instructor is telling you and have a go at how they are showing you to do something.
Our young instructors have a lot of experience at riding & competing so can help you even if they are
younger than you chances are they started riding well before you did so please give them the respect as
they have a lot to offer. Please can all parents speak to their child in respect to this as instructors should not
have to deal with riders not listing to instruction otherwise we will have to ask the rider to leave the group
to make it fair on those that are listing and to make it less stressful to the instructors having to deal with
riders not listing as it usually for the riders benefit not the instructors and can be a safety issue. THANK
YOU

If you would like to nominate for an up-coming event at our club (Greenbank members only),
or to nominate for an event at another Club members need to fill out the nomination form
that relates to the event with all information required including helper and email to Mark
Harrison at [email protected] at least 2 working days prior to the nominations closing
date.
With regards to helpers if required on nominations you must assist on the day or your child
risks being disqualified on the day and there is nothing our club can do to change this
decision.
Once Mark has all the forms he can prepare the paperwork and email the particular club
holding the event and pay the nomination fee. After receiving forms the club will invoice the
member for the nomination fee. Payment of invoice expected within 14 days either by
cheque or EFT.
By doing this it will assist Mark not having chase you up to get horses names, pony club
numbers, PIC numbers, ages and what events are being done.
Please use the website and keep track of nomination closing dates as we will not be sending
out reminders.
ZONE 2 UPDATE:
Zone 2 Reminder that Beige Jodhpurs are the correct colour for
competition, yellow, banana etc. will result in disqualification as you are
out of uniform.
