Dear Expo Attendees and Exhibitors,
The MHEC looks forward to this year’s EXPO with great anticipation. We are thriving as an organization
and the number of suppliers on contracts and members who use the MHEC contracts has never been
greater. We now have over 700 members and more than 650 suppliers. We expect to see record revenues in excess of $180 million this year after last year’s contract spend of more than $167 million.
The MHEC continues to support its members and suppliers and continues to invest in itself to adapt to
the changing times. The MHEC is the “Premier Purchasing Consortium” in New England because of the
way we work closely with both our suppliers and our members. The Annual Product EXPO is an opportunity to annually reinforce those strong relationships.
We look forward to our members and suppliers, both new and old, being with us at this year’s EXPO. This
year we will have a record number of suppliers 169 present and we anticipate a record number of member attendees. This year at the EXPO we have added a keynote address and a local author exhibit and
book signing featuring more than 20 authors!

Patricia Callahan has been an employee of
North Shore Community College for over 20
years and is currently serving as Comptroller
there. Prior to her current position, she
served as the Procurement Manager in the
Fiscal Affairs department and an accounting consultant at Wentworth
Institute of Technology. Trish currently serves on the MHEC Board of
Directors where she chairs the Finance Committee. She holds a
BSBA in Finance and a Master’s of Business Administration from the
University of Lowell and is certified as a Massachusetts Certified
Public Purchasing Officer (MCPPO) through the Massachusetts
Inspector General’s Office.
In her free time, Trish enjoys spending time with her family, traveling
and doing charity work. Trish is honored to be Grand Marshal for the
MHEC Expo and looks forward to another successful show.

Marty Damon is amazed and delighted that after twenty years of
standing at the front of an English classroom, she still has something to say. Before teaching, her earlier working career included
sending C.I.A. employees to covert training in Virginia. She lives in
Wilbraham, Massachusetts, where she is happily retired and working on her third mystery. Her first book, Earthly Needs, takes place
in both a small Massachusetts town very much like her own and in
a city classroom that mirrors the one she left.

Andrew C. Daubon has been happily married to Michaelia Daubon
for over 16 years and they are proud parents of two daughters.
Andrew and Michaelia serve as pastors of the Celestial Praise
Church of God in Springfield where he is an Ordained Bishop. His is
a graduate of the Mico College University in Kingston, Jamaica, and
the University of Hartford. He is currently pursuing a Master of
Divinity, at the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. “Marriage: A
Love Seat for Two” published in January 2016, explores the metaphor of marriage as a love seat. The book focuses on how the four
legs of the love seat contribute to the stability of every marriage.

Jacqueline Dembar Greene is an award-winning author of 38
books for young readers, including picture books, historical
novels, mysteries, non-fiction titles, and American Girl’s
1914 “Rebecca” series. Her historical novel, The Leveller,
takes place in Westborough, Massachusetts in 1789, and
was recently released in paperback. Greene’s newest history
-mystery is The Finders Keepers Rule, set in Daytona Beach,

A big believer in happily ever afters, Jen Doyle decided it was high
time she started creating some. Jen has an M.S. in Library and Information Science and, in addition to her work as a librarian, has

The MHEC continues its’ tradition of supporting Toys for Tots as our EXPO charity.
We agree with the Toys for Tots program's belief that children are one of our
nation's most valuable resources. We are asking exhibitors and attendees to join
us in donating to this important program.
Last year the MHEC, EXPO attendees
and exhibitors donated 189 toys, 54
stocking stuffers, 26 books and $227 in
cash to Toys for Tots! You can help us
make this year even better.
About the Program: Toys for Tots is a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Program. The
mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new,
unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and to
distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the
community in which the campaign is conducted. Their goal is to deliver, through
a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will
assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
The Marines are manning the charity booth located in the lobby by exhibitor
registration throughout the day. Toys will be collected at the end of the day. Cash
donations are also accepted. Remember, any amount will make a difference to a
child in need.

This year, we’re featuring a variety of plants throughout the venue. These plants have been procured from
Lamoreaux Greenhouses, a family owned and operated business. Located in Brookfield, MA, Lamoreaux
has ten greenhouses and 25 acres of land. Make sure to take a moment to read the names of the plants;
each plant we are using filters toxic agents from the air. Did you know that trees can absorb as much as 48
pounds of carbon dioxide per year? Or that one large tree can provide an oxygen supply for two people?1 All
plants will be donated following the EXPO. Please consider contributing to the “Go Green” movement by
planting trees or other flora.

On a daily basis, much of the food we eat has traveled across the country or even world to get to us. The
distance the food travels on the way to our markets or grocery stores increases the emissions of the food
transport vehicles significantly. Eating locally grown food is not only more nutritious but can also help
reduce emissions. Make a difference, buy local. EXPO 2015 introduced the New England Grown Lunch
where the Sturbridge Host served a menu with ingredients grown in NE; most of the ingredients were
from right here in Massachusetts.

active member of the Vermont Fresh Network (VFN), a state-wide organization dedicated to building innovative
partnerships among Vermont farmers, chefs, and consumers to strengthen Vermont’s agriculture.
