34 Summer 2016 Activity Guide Redwood City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Registration Check out our website at www.RedwoodCityCamps.org Registration form is on page 4 Important Dates RESIDENTS: Walk-in: Starts Now SUMMER REFUND & CREDIT POLICY ALWAYS CANCELLATIONS BY DEPARTMENT: If a camp or swim lesson is cancelled by the department, a full refund will be issued. NON-RESIDENTS: TRANSFERS: There is no charge to transfer your child between camps and swim lessons provided there is space available. Mail-in, Fax-in & Drop-off March 28, 2016 Walk-in: March 28, 2016 NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THE CAMP BEGINS. However, your satisfaction matters most to us and refunds or credits will be considered. Participants who are dissatisfied with a program for any reason must fill out a program evaluation prior to receiving a refund or credit so we can make the class better in the future. Credits and refunds will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the program supervisor. UP UNTIL MAY 31, 2016 SUMMER CAMP Online registration: March 10, 2016 Mail-in, Fax-in & Drop-off Starts now Refund Policy Pre-registration is required for all Camps & Swim Lessons! • In-camp registrations will not be accepted. • Register early! Many camps fill before their start dates. • Camps may be cancelled if there is low enrollment. • All registrations are taken on a first come first serve basis. • Mail In & Fax In receipts will be mailed. We will not call you to confirm your registration. WAITING LISTS • • • • Waiting lists will be established if a program is full. If a space becomes available we will contact you. You will not be charged for the camp unless you are enrolled. If you wrote a check for several classes and you are put on the wait list, the remaining balance of your check will be automatically credited to your account for future use in our programs. If you would like a refund, please contact the contact the department at 650.780.7311. RESIDENT STATUS Any person with a home Redwood City mailing address is considered a resident. A Redwood City P.O. Box or business address will not be taken as proof of residency. A non-resident is someone who lives in another city. Register Online Today CANCELLATIONS: Up until 2 weeks before the start date of each camp or swim lesson, you may cancel and receive a refund less $25 per camp. Cancellations made within the two week window will receive a department credit (less $25 per camp) which may be applied to any future Recreation Department activity. Early Bird Discount THE MORE YOU BUY, THE MORE YOU SAVE! REGISTER BY APRIL 15TH AND RECEIVE A 10% DISCOUNT ON UNLIMITED WEEKS OF OUR RECREATION CAMPS! Just look for the pink starburst next to the applicable camps in the Summer Camp Section. *Discounted camps include: Polliwog, Tiny Timbers, Mountaineers, Kaboom, High-5, Summer Adventures and Whatchamacallit. Refunds on camps will be for the actual value paid, less processing fees. There will be no discounts given on bridge care or post care programs associated with the selected camps. Discount is on the base price of the camp prior to the addition of administrative and non-resident fees. www.RedwoodCity.Org/Parks 650.780.7311 35 Financial Assistance How to Read Our Camp Listings Payment plans are available to families who need a little extra time to pay in full. All summer camps and swim lessons listed in this guide are eligible for deferred payment. This will allow families to reserve their child’s spot NOW, but apply payment closer to the camp and/ or swim lesson start date. STRICT RULES APPLY. SUMMER CAMP PAYMENT PLAN RULES All summer camps and swim lessons within the guide are eligible. A non-refundable registration deposit of $25 PER CAMP/SWIM LESSON is required. This will allow you to reserve your child’s spot in a camp now, but defer payment until later. The remaining balance of camp fees are due on the following dates: ALL PAYMENT PLANS WILL BE: • Set-up as automatic payments ONLY by credit card or echeck ICON KEY See below for a definition of each of the icons listed adjacent to many of our camp titles. After-Care Available (listed with camp) Bridge Care (12-1pm) Field Trip Lunch Included • Due by May 13, at 4:30pm: weeks of June 13 - July 8, 2016 Nature Camp • Due by June 30, 4:30pm: weeks of July 11 - August 26, 2016 Overnight • Accounts that are not paid in full by 4:30pm on the due date, will have all registrations cancelled, and $25 PER CAMP FEE will be forfeited. No exceptions. Snack Included FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE If you would like to apply for financial assistance, please pick up a form at Red Morton Center. Availability is limited and is allocated by need on a first come, first serve basis. All supporting documents and applications must be submitted to the Red Morton Front Desk by May 27, 2016 at 4:30pm. After Care Some of our camps include the option for After Care. If you see the clock icon next to the camp description, there is after care available. After care options are listed with the associated camp’s description, as well as on PAGE 37. Bridge Care Some of our camps include the option for Bridge Care. Bridge care gives the opportunity for parents to piece together an AM and PM camp of their choice with Lunch Supervision from 12-1pm by our Staff. Children will be walked from their morning camp option to Red Morton Community Center where they will eat lunch and play from 12-1pm. Pair up an AM & PM Camp of your Choice, and We’ll Take Care of the Rest! Bridge Care is a way for you to customize a camp experience that fits your schedule and your child’s interests. Bridge Care gives the opportunity for parents to add an additional lunch hour to their half day camp OR piece together an AM and PM camp of their choice. Children will be walked from their morning camp options to the Red Morton Community Center where they will eat lunch in an enclosed room and play yard from 12-1pm. Children will then be walked to their afternoon camp option by our staff. Bridge care is designed to offer you flexibility, convenience and provide your child with a variety of opportunities to move, grow, learn and explore specific interests. Bring your curiosity and check out Camp High-5. We will explore fun activities to enrich your learning. From building projects to cooking and science experiments; Camp High-5 will blend traditional summer games, art & crafts with exciting, in-depth, hands on theme based projects. High-5 is moving to a new location on site at Red Morton Community Center, with its very own fenced in playground and in room bathrooms. *2 afternoon sessions of High-5 will be Spanish Immersion. Your child will experience all the recreation fun of High-5 while being immersed in the Spanish language. These weeks are geared towards both native Spanish speakers and Spanish language learners. No prior Spanish speaking is required. Full Day Campers, or those who are staying for lunch need to bring lunch daily. Half day campers may also sign up for Bridge Care if they would like to have lunch and stay for an extra hour.
