Roxdene Community News December 2014 Dear Roxdene Community, Another year has passed and by the time you read this many of you will be preparing for the Holiday season. For most of us this means Christmas and New Year, but we recognize that some will mark this time with other traditions. To all of you, the Roxdene Board would like to extend wishes for safe, happy and peaceful celebrations. None of us have been spared the difficult economic conditions that have prevailed over the past several years, but we are happy to report that in spite of this Roxdene welcomes two new owners: Sandy Gascoigne who purchased B1 earlier in the year and very recently Andrew Holbrow acquired B3. We wish them both many happy years with us. We also welcome several new tenants: A6 - Omar Mirza & Colleen Donnelly; E5 – Joint Tenants Candice Lee, Elaine Ho and Soyeon Song; and in the cottage Sarah Lusher and Dayne Hall. So, it seems that we must be doing something right! As some of you were unable to attend the AGM held earlier this month we take this opportunity to bring you up to date. We had to say a reluctant farewell to two long serving and hard working board members: Neil Cooper and George Jones. Neil has been active on every level of Roxdene administration for as long as anyone can remember, his dedication and attention to detail has helped to keep the Roxdene community safe, attractive and functioning like clockwork. Neil certainly deserves a rest now but no doubt we will be knocking on his door from time to time as his memory serves as the most comprehensive Roxdene archive available. George N.H. Jones our resident legal advisor and immediate past president will also be saying good-bye as he moves into the next phase of his life. George has purchased a “stand alone” property in the outer reaches of the western parishes and so we lose him not only from the board but also from the community as his unit A5 is on the market. George we wish you well and look forward to having the odd snippet of your life to post in subsequent newsletters. To fill those positions we welcome back former director Marion Searson and new resident owner Sandy Gascoinge. So the Board now stands as follows: Mya Freisenbruch president & leasing; Dianna Doe VP & finance; David Ayres finance; Tina Daniels recording secretary & leasing; Sandy Gascoinge leasing; Bill Price, Marion Searson & Arthur (De) DeSilva buildings. We also recognize non-board member Liesbeth Cooper gardens. Finally we would like to say a big fat thank you to Gil for all his hard work. There is not another development in Bermuda whose grounds are kept as pristine by just a single individual, his loyalty and integrity are appreciated by the board and we’re sure all of you. Thank you, and Season’s Greetings to all, The Roxdene Board P.S. we chose to defer the housekeeping issues for a later bulletin.
