Seguridad y Defensa en el Mediterráneo
El Ministerio de Defensa y la Fundación CIDOB tienen como objetivo compartido seguir promoviendo la seguridad y estabilidad en el
Mediterráneo a través iniciativas que fomenten el entendimiento y
la transparencia en las relaciones entre la UE y la OTAN, sus
Estados miembros y los socios mediterráneos.
En este sentido, el III Seminario Internacional sobre “Seguridad y
Defensa en el Mediterráneo” tiene como propósito establecer un
diálogo fluido entre estos actores internacionales, favoreciendo la
adopción de estrategias cooperativas en importantes materias, que
permitirán hacer frente a los desafíos comunes de la región euromediterránea.
De esta manera, se persigue dar un paso más en el debate iniciado
durante la Presidencia Española de la Unión Europea durante el
primer semestre de 2002, y que se proyecta hasta la actualidad, con
el doble objetivo de reforzar la dimensión mediterránea de la
Política Europea de Seguridad y Defensa (PESD) de la UE, y de elevar el grado del diálogo mediterráneo de la OTAN con sus respectivos socios de la región.

Security and Defence in the Mediterranean
The Ministry of Defence and the CIDOB Foundation have as their
shared goal that of continuing to promote security and stability in
the Mediterranean through initiatives that will foster understanding
and transparency in the relations between the EU and NATO, their
Member States and the Mediterranean partners.
In this connection, the purpose of the IIIrd International Seminar on
“Security and Defence in the Mediterranean” is to establish a fluid
dialogue between these international players, by encouraging the
adoption of co-operative strategies in important matters that will
make it possible to address the common challenges of the EuroMediterranean region.
Thus, the aim is to take a further step in the debate started during
the Spanish Presidency of the European Union in the first half of
2002, which has continued until the present time, with the dual
objective of enhancing the Mediterranean dimension of the EU
European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP), and of raising the
level of NATO’s Mediterranean dialogue with its respective partners
in the region.

Sécurité et Défense en Méditerranée
Le Ministère de la Défense et la Fondation CIDOB ont pour objectif commun de continuer à promouvoir la sécurité et la stabilité dans
la Méditerranée par le biais d’initiatives favorisant l’entente et la
transparence dans les rapports entre l’UE et l’OTAN, leurs états
membres et les partenaires méditerranéens.
Dans ce sens, le III Séminaire International sur “Sécurité et défense en Méditerranée” a pour objectif d´établir un dialogue fluide
entre ces acteurs internationaux, tout en favorisant l´adoption de
stratégies coopératives dans d’importants domaines, qui permettront
de faire face aux défis communs de la région euro-méditerranéenne.
Le but recherché ainsi est d’avancer dans le débat amorcé sous la
présidence espagnole de l´Union européenne pendant le premier
semestre de 2002 et encore en vigueur, avec le double objectif de
renforcer la dimension méditerranéenne de la Politique européenne
de sécurité et de défense (PESD) de l´UE, et d´élever le grade de
qualité du dialogue méditerranéen de l´OTAN avec ses partenaires
respectifs de la région.
